This is a remarkable day in the history of our country. We have never over our centuries inaugurated a man like Donald Trump as president of the United States. You can select any random group of former presidents — Madison, Lincoln, Hoover, Carter — and none of them are like Trump. We’ve never had a major national leader as professionally unprepared, intellectually ill informed, morally compromised and temperamentally unfit as the man taking the oath on Friday. So let’s not lessen the shock factor that should reverberate across this extraordinary moment. It took a lot to get us here. It took a

Wearing pink, pointy-eared "pussyhats" to mock the new president, hundreds of thousands of women massed in the nation´s capital and cities around the globe Saturday to send Donald Trump an emphatic message that they won´t let his agenda go unchallenged over the next four years. "We march today for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is waging a war," actress America Ferrera told the Washington crowd. "Our dignity, our character, our rights have all been under attack and a platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday. But the president is not America. ...

Michelle Obama looked unimpressed during the inauguration of Donald Trump as 45th President of the United States – summing up the mood among critics of the controversial billionaire who was sworn in at a ceremony on Capitol Hill. Eyebrow raised, the former first lady stood and watched as Mr Trump recited the 35-word oath. Her dour facial expression prompted an immediate reaction on social media, with one person saying that her evident displeasure at the New York tycoon becoming the most powerful man on the planet “spoke for all of us”. One image showed Ms Obama – who has been

Never mind the Russians. It was Hillary Clinton who was actually trying to sabotage the 2016 Presidential Election, according to a WikiLeaks release. The information released shows that the Hillary Clinton campaign staffers bribed six Republicans to “destroy Trump”. The evidence includes an email from John Podesta to Huma Abedin discussing diverting Clinton campaign funds to various Republicans who were secretly on the Clinton payroll. Conservativedailypost.com reports: The email, sent in July of this year, describes how funds were being diverted from Clinton’s campaign to the Super PACS of Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorina,

Madonna told thousands of Women´s March attendees in Washington that she has "thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House" since President Trump was elected. Addressing rallygoers from the stage, Madonna said, "This is the hallmark of revolution. So, my question to you today is, are you ready? I said, are you ready? Say yes, we are ready!" "Yes, I´m angry. Yes, I am outraged. Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House," she said. "But I know that this won´t change anything. We cannot fall into despair." So far, first lady Melania Trump´s inaugural weekend wardrobe has been the epitome of powerfully feminine.  Trump arrived at St. John's Church on Friday morning in a baby blue Ralph Lauren cashmere bolero jacket with a high cowl neck, and matching sheath and gloves. (So Jackie O. In fact, Jacqueline Kennedy wore a sky-blue suit to her husband's inauguration.) Trump's shoulder-length tresses were pulled into a soft bun. Her cheeks were rosy.

As an African American woman, I find the 2016 campaign — and now the 2017 inauguration — doubly painful. Donald Trump’s victory revealed inconvenient and ugly truths about the United States and its political system, including the persistence of racial Discrimination and the continuing sting of misogyny. (Snip) The spine-chilling chants of “lock her up” were not mere expressions of political exuberance, but dark echoes from the era of the Salem witch trials. Whatever Clinton’s failings, she conducted herself in a dignified and exemplary manner throughout her long career of public service. But the man who measures women by the

Michelle Obama forcefully and passionately warned last year of the dangers of electing Donald Trump. And, for eight years in the White House, she was never shy about her dislike of politics or her resolve to never seek political office herself. But, within hours of sitting witness to Trump taking the oath of office and then making her post-inaugural getaway to Palm Springs, Calif.,  Mrs. Obama was on Twitter, promising her followers that she’s only taking “a little break.” “Will be back before you know it to work on the issues we care about.” The former first lady’s tweet came amid

Former President Barack Obama eased into his first day of civilian life with a gym workout, DailyMail.com can reveal. Obama was spotted heading to the Thunderbird Country Club in exclusive Rancho Mirage, California for an hour long exercise session. Just a day after leaving the White House, Obama is in the Palm Springs area on vacation. He and Michelle are staying at the mansion of Spanish ambassador James Costos and his husband, interior designer Michael Smith, in Rancho Mirage. At around 9am this morning the former President´s convoy of three SUVs and a lead car left the private gated community

Michelle Obama may now be the former first lady, but on the Internet, she’s being celebrated as the reigning shade queen, thanks to her facial expressions on Inauguration Day.When the Trumps arrived at the White House and were welcomed by the Obamas, Melania Trump presented Obama with a gift in a Tiffany & Co. blue box. It was a nice gesture (and a traditional one), but split-second freeze frames of Obama’s face have people thinking that she wasn’t really there for the present. same, @MichelleObama pic.twitter.com/rrUBWrsDrZ — Tyler Oakley (@tyleroakley) January 20, 2017 Michelle Obama after getting a Tiffany’s gift

Hillary Clinton tweeted her support Saturday to those taking part in women’s marches to register opposition to President Donald Trump’s agenda and rhetoric. “Thanks for standing, speaking & marching for our values @womensmarch. Important as ever. I truly believe we´re always Stronger Together,” wrote the former Democratic nominee who lost to Trump in November, referencing her campaign slogan. The message came as marchers poured into Washington, D.C. and other American cities to demonstrate against the new administration. Clinton has kept a relatively low profile since her defeat, but attended the inauguration

For some it’s more appreciation. For some it’s newly surfaced regrets. Some are committed to watching the inauguration, staring right into how much everything is going to change. Some say they can’t bear the thought of having it on TV. Some conveniently scheduled flights to long-delayed vacations so they’ll be in the air at 12:01. Many of those left to cope by heading to the farewell ceremony that will be at Andrews Air Force Base as soon as the ceremony’s over. Staring down the final hours until Donald Trump is president puts Barack Obama into sharper definition than ever for his network
