Jeb Bush says that the Senate should confirm the nomination Loretta Lynch, President Barack Obama’s choice for attorney general. A number of Senate Republicans oppose her nomination. “I think presidents have the right to pick their team,” Bush said, according to reports of his stop at the “Politics and Pie” forum in Concord, New Hampshire, on Thursday night. The former Florida governor made sure to get in a few digs at current Attorney General Eric Holder, saying that Republicans should consider that the longer it takes to confirm Lynch, the longer Holder stays.

Iowans had their cellphones and cameras confiscated before getting to meet the Democratic presidential frontrunner, Hillary Rodham Clinton. "On Thursday, Clinton´s motorcade left the SpringHill Suites for Main Street Cafe, where she met privately with party leaders for about an hour and a half," reports KETV in Omaha. "Pottawattamie County Democratic Chairwoman Linda Nelson said the meeting was so private that everyone invited was asked to hand over their cellphones and cameras before taking part." The Clinton campaign has been trying to control Hillary´s campaign events as much as possible. Taking the cellphones and cameras of possible voters, however, is

It’s becoming apparent that the public would be better served if presidential candidates were interviewed not by reporters but by an algorithm that randomly generates pearls of inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom. Presidential candidates would face the same exposure to tough questions as they do today, and struggling news networks could tighten their belts by doing away with some unnecessary operating costs. The latest example of the phenomenon in which liberal clichés serve as a guiding philosophy comes to us courtesy of NBC News reporter Kasie Hunt. She sat down with former Texas Gov. Rick Perry ahead of what many

On a number of occasions during the negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, the Israeli government has appealed to the United States and its allies to demand a change in Tehran’s aggressive behavior. If Iran wishes to be treated as a normal state, Israel has said, then it should start acting like one. Unfortunately, these appeals have been summarily dismissed. The Obama administration apparently believes that only after a nuclear agreement is signed can the free world expect Iran to stop its attempts at regional domination, improve its human rights record and, in general, behave like the civilized state it hopes

Jeb Bush ‘concerned’ about climate change

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush acknowledged on Friday that he’s “concerned” about climate change, but argued that the U.S. has largely addressed carbon emissions through private sector innovation that has led to a natural gas boom. Speaking at the New England Council’s “Politics and Eggs” series in Manchester, New Hampshire, a popular stop for presidential hopefuls, Bush fielded a question about whether his energy policy would take the environment into account. “The climate is changing and I’m concerned about that,” Bush responded. “But to be honest with you, I’m more concerned about the hollowing out of our

During a segment on his Fox Business Network show Making Money, host Charles Payne said that he thinks Obama is making ready for a big push to pay billions in slavery reparations in 2016. During a panel segment, Payne and his crew were discussing the reparations the city of Chicago is making to the mostly black victims of Police Commander Jon Burge, a now convicted Chicago policeman who in the 1970s and ’80s engaged in a long campaign of beating suspects into confessing to crimes they did not commit. From that subject, Payne veered off into his prediction of what

George Will is tired of Donald Trump‘s fake presidential runs, and on Fox News today he said he really hope Trump does run so we can all watch him crash and burn. Bret Baier asked all three Special Report panelists to place their bets in the “candidate casino” on the odds of which candidates will get their respective party’s nominations. Will threw most of his chips (a total of $100) at Scott Walker and Jeb Bush, with enough left over for Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, John Kasich, and Bobby Jindal. And then Will said this: “One dollar on Donald Trump in the hope that he will be tempted to run, be predictably shellacked, and we will be

A middle school teacher is recovering in hospital in New York after being viciously assaulted by one of her student´s mothers and the woman´s 14-year-old niece. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School in Hempstead. Police say the parent, Annika McKenzie, 34, walked into the building without being cleared by security and waited in the hallway for her daughter´s math teacher, Catherine Engelhardt. McKenzie believed Engelhardt had ´put her hands´ on her 12-year-old daughter earlier in the day, according to ABC 7. Engelhardt refused to speak with McKenzie, telling her to first get a security

President Obama criticized the delay of Loretta Lynch´s confirmation as U.S. attorney general, calling it "embarrassing" and a "crazy situation." "What we still have is this crazy situation where a woman who everybody agrees is qualified... has been now sitting there for longer than the previous seven attorney generals combined," Mr. Obama said during a joint press conference with Matteo Renzi, Italy´s prime minister. "And there´s no reason for it. Nobody can describe a reason for it beyond political gamesmanship in the Senate. "There are times where the dysfunction in the Senate just goes too far. This is an example

Voilà! In addition to handling a private/official email problem, flying coach, and carrying her own luggage, Hillary Clinton may now be able to add to her list of outstanding accomplishments singlehandedly resolving the contention surrounding immigration reform. Recently, on a tightly stage-managed listening tour Hillary, granddaughter of alleged immigrants, revealed her acute sensitivity for the plight of – you guessed it – immigrants. An empathetic Hillary had this to say about how illegal immigrants are being treated in America: We are turning down people who really want to work. I mean they are here to work and a lot

After five years and more than 50 votes in Congress, the Republican campaign to repeal the Affordable Care Act is essentially over. GOP congressional leaders, unable to roll back the law while President Obama remains in office and unwilling to again threaten a government shutdown to pressure him, are focused on other issues, including trade and tax reform. Less noted, senior Republican lawmakers have quietly incorporated many of the law´s key protections into their own proposals, including guaranteeing coverage and providing government assistance to help consumers purchase insurance. And although the law remains

(Video) Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has joined Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid in calling for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to abandon his pre-election promise to fight President Obama’s executive amnesty by holding a vote to confirm U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. “I think that presidents have the right to pick their team,” Bush said in New Hampshire at an event with about 95 voters and “a horde of media,” according to Time Magazine’s Zeke Miller. “The longer it takes to confirm her, the longer Eric Holder stays as Attorney General,” Bush said, echoing a talking point
