Analysis: Missing piece in Trump’s
wall is GOP support

Associated Press, by Lisa Mascaro

WASHINGTON— Republicans in Congress never really wanted to build the wall. It wasn’t a priority like tax cuts, which are a raison d’être of Republican domestic policy. And it wasn’t their own campaign pledge to voters, like the vow to repeal and replace Obamacare that became hard to keep. President Donald Trump’s signature campaign rally cry — “Build the Wall!” — was always more of a slogan than a policy. A “metaphor,” Republicans have called it — shorthand for the more complicated trade-offs that would be required for an immigration-and-border security deal. A “MacGuffin,” as one former top GOP aide

The author is correct. With full GOP support, this would have been done in early 2017 when Republicans held both the Senate and the House. You can thank the feckless Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell for the inaction.

The Swamp at work. I´d say the Republican establishment made a huge mistake in not getting the wall done when they had the majority, but it was more sabotage than a mistake.

When it gets to the part where they are asking for donations, I get out my Sharpie marker and write in Big Black Letters:

Republicans are the best thing to ever happen to Democrats. They are all on the same wavelength and page but sing the same songs in different keys. Dems never give in to anything but Repukes give over everything to appease them and avoid negative beatings in the press. What´s missing is courage, guts, the will to win, patriotism and love of the country and its founding principles and leadership.

Democrat politicians, and Democrats generally, support their own no matter how outrageous, e.g., "Green New Deal".

Republican politicians bend over backwards to appease the press and do not hesitate to withhold support from one another.

One would think that the Republican politicians would be the ones who honor loyalty and association but, sadly, they are the ones who dismiss, with haste and impunity, the wishes and wills of the people who elect them.

The duplicitous and wimpy Congressional Republicans, many of them under the control of the Chamber of Commerce and mesmerized by illegal cheap foreign labor that can easily by hired by the business class of Republican donors who fund their political campaigns have really never done anything to effectively reduce or stop mass uncontrolled illegal immigration into the USA.

Those Republicans have been very shortsighted indeed, as if the leftist and liberal Democrats ever succeed in legalizing the 22 million mostly socialist oriented poor and uneducated illegal alien population now thought to be sojourning in the USA under a Democrat crafted “comprehensive immigration reform” amnesty and grant them US voting rights under a Democrat crafted “path to citizenship” initiative, after which there is no doubt that most of those Republicans and the Republican Party will be headed into political oblivion as far as ever being able to again become the majority in the Congress or again elect a Republican President.

At least it’ll be easier to find a seat on the subway. More than a third of all city residents say they can’t afford to live anywhere in the state — much less the Big Apple — and believe economic hardship will send them packing in five years or less, according to a dismal new poll. That’s 41 percent of city dwellers who say they can’t cope with New York’s high cost of living, according to a Quinnipiac poll published Wednesday. Separately, 41 percent fear they’ll be “forced” to pull up stakes and seek greener pastures where the economic climate

Democrats may regret their years of hyperventilation over allegations of foreign “collusion” to influence a presidential election. In what amounts to slow-motion political jujitsu, the very nefarious acts attributed to the Trump campaign may end up being applied to the Obama administration and Hillary campaign. A formal criminal investigation already is being launched overseas, making an American counterpart investigation awkward to suppress. Anyone who has paid attention to the genesis of the Mueller investigation understands that it was opposition research paid for by the Democratic Party and Hillary presidential campaign and corrupt senior officials at the FBI that sparked the
