The Morality of the Anti-Trump Elite
American Spectator, by George Neumayr

The dominant media spends day after day accusing Trump of this or that “lie.” It puts the worst possible construction on his every utterance. Meanwhile, the high priests of that media get caught out in plagiarism scandals and the like and never pay the slightest price for those acts of brazen dishonesty. Fareed Zakaria is a well-documented plagiarist, but CNN has no qualms about giving him a show from which to attack Trump’s integrity from every conceivable angle. Former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson, who often lacerates Trump for not owning up to his deceptions,

Independent Investigation Shows Covington Boys
Told the Truth, Confirms Nathan Phillips

The results of an independent investigation into the January 18, 2019 Lincoln Memorial confrontation between leftist activist Nathan Phillips, black supremacist group the Black Hebrew Israelites and students from Covington Catholic High School were released Wednesday by Greater Cincinatti Investigation, Inc. The report, which is four pages long, shows what everyone could have known initially if the time was taken to reach for context: Covington students didn´t use a single racial slur against either Phillips or the Black Hebrew Israelites and they didn´t instigate the confrontation. In fact, it was the opposite.

A teaching moment from Virginia Democrats:

If there were a state that could educate Americans on politics, and what happens when virtue smacks up against raw political power, you’d have to say it’s Virginia. Illinois is broken. People flee Illinois for the same reason they flee New York: taxes. But they don’t run from Virginia. They gravitate to Northern Virginia, home to some of the wealthiest counties in the country, and all those rich lawyers and lobbyists and journos and politicos and equestrians work in Washington. These are the rulers and the palace guards, the gatekeepers and peddlers of influence. In another age, another place,

FEC Still Refuses To Investigate Alleged $84
Million Clinton Campaign Money Laundering
The Federalist, by Margot Cleveland    Original Article

Tuesday evening the Committee to Defend the President (CDP) filed a motion in a D.C. federal court seeking to supplement the complaint it had filed against the Federal Election Committee (FEC) in April 2018. In its original complaint, the CDP alleged that the agency responsible for enforcing campaign-finance law failed to act on an administrative complaint the CDP had filed with the FEC. That complaint charged that, during the 2016 presidential election, Democrats illegally funneled approximately $84 million through the Hillary Victory Fund to the Democratic National Committee (DNC), which then illegally coordinated with the Hillary Clinton campaign.

“The average tax refund is down about $170 compared to last year. Let’s call the President’s tax cut what it is: a middle-class tax hike to line the pockets of already wealthy corporations and the 1%.” — Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), in a tweet, Feb. 11, 2019 Harris, who is running for president in 2020, attacked President Trump’s tax law after the Internal Revenue Service reported that preliminary data shows that the average tax refund check is down 8 percent ($170) this year compared with last year. Boy, talk about a non sequitur that turns out to be nonsensical and misleading.

Michael Avenatti agreed Wednesday to give up financial control of his law firm to settle a dispute with a former partner who claimed the celebrity lawyer hid millions in order to fund his lavish lifestyle and avoid having to pay a $10 million judgment. Jason Frank, a former partner at Eagan Avenatti, accused Avenatti in a court filing of spending extravagantly: $13,000 in rent for his Los Angeles apartment; a $3,640 payment on his Ferrari; $150,000 for his coffee company; $53,600 on his ex-wife; and $232,875 for his auto racing team, The Los Angeles Times reported.

TAMPA — At a time when millions of Americans are bemoaning their smaller-than-expected tax refunds, consider this: Ramon Christopher Blanchett of Tampa once got a refund of $980,000. On a reported income of $18,497. As with most things involving the IRS, this story does not end happily, at least for Blanchett, 29. But it does display a degree of ingenuity, as outlined in a federal forfeiture complaint recently filed in U.S. District Court in Tampa:In February 2017, Blanchett electronically submitted a self-prepared income tax return listing his occupation as "free-lancer. ´´ He had W-2 forms from a Tampa nursing home

There have been reports recently that the Senate Intelligence Committee, the panel conducting the bipartisan flagship congressional investigation of the Trump-Russia affair, has not found evidence to conclude that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to fix the 2016 election. "If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don´t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia," the committee´s chairman, Republican Sen. Richard Burr, told CBS last week. Pressed on his statement a few days later, Burr said, "The only thing I´ve addressed

Look, it’s been a long two years for everyone. We’re tired, our brains have been melted to a thin pap by the news cycle, and we’ve soundly backslid into our slothful ways despite resolving to exercise off all the cookies we cry-ate over the holiday. During times like this, it’s necessary to celebrate small victories. Celebrate the fact that you woke up this morning, and did or did not remember to bathe. Celebrate the fact that your insurance company has decided that therapy “should” cost $50 per session. And celebrate the fact that I bring tidings

It’s official. We just had the longest government shutdown in history over absolutely nothing. Democrats have agreed to fund $1.375 billion for 55 miles of physical barrier along the border, which is only a little more than what President Trump would have gotten under a continuing resolution that funded the government at current levels. It’s far less than the $5.7 billion he demanded to build 230 miles of barriers that experts and the Department of Homeland Security said they need to properly secure the border. But Trump can still get the rest of the money —

A leftover from yesterday. “Drunk-driving shouldn’t be deportable” sounds like a winning message for the 2020 Democratic nominee to me. Certainly, the Trump campaign wouldn’t respond to that by having POTUS appear at an event alongside various parents whose children were mangled or killed by illegal-immigrant drunk drivers.Menendez’s supporters have a counter to that: Driving under the influence is actually not a criminal offense in his home state of New Jersey. It’s a traffic offense. You can be jailed for it (briefly) and fined but technically it doesn’t even qualify as a misdemeanor.

Ethan Lindenberger, frustrated by years of arguments about his mother’s anti-vaccination stance, staged a quiet defection on Reddit. He wanted to get vaccinated. But he didn’t know how. “Because of their beliefs I’ve never been vaccinated for anything, God knows how I’m still alive,” Lindenberger wrote days before Thanksgiving. As anti-vaccination movements metastasize amid outbreaks of dangerous diseases, Internet-savvy teenagers are fact-checking their parents’ decisions in a digital health reawakening

WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi warned President Donald Trump on Thursday that a future Democratic president could declare a national emergency to achieve an agenda, such as gun control policy. Responding to the president’s announcement that he will declare a national emergency related to the U.S. southern border, Pelosi maintained that “Democratic presidents can declare emergencies as well. So the precedent that the president is setting here is something that should be met with great unease and dismay by the Republicans.” (Photos) Speaker Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press conference, “You want to talk about a national

On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, my first full day on the job as acting director of the FBI, I sat down with senior staff involved in the Russia case—the investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. As the meeting began, my secretary relayed a message that the White House was calling. The president himself was on the line. I had spoken with him the night before, in the Oval Office, when he told me he had fired James Comey. A call like this was highly unusual. Presidents do not, typically, call FBI directors.
