The Democrats’ Identity Meltdown
Wall Street Journal, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/11/2019 8:20:20 AM

Democrats need an identity-politics intervention. Having unleashed race, gender, sexual orientation and class as the defining issues of American politics, these furies are now consuming their authors. Where’s Barack Obama when Democrats need him? Every national Democrat of note is demanding that Virginia Governor Ralph Northam resign for appearing in blackface in 1984 and for offering different explanations for an offensive photo on his medical college yearbook page. But Mr. Northam is refusing to go. A second woman has now accused Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax of rape, this time at Duke University in 2000.

I don´t know who wrote this editorial. It doesn´t read as if Kim Strassel or Jason Williams is the author. I suspect Dan Henninger.

Nevertheless, the closing paragraph added to the alarms that have been going off in my head recently.

Michelle Obama made a "surprise" appearance at the Grammys. Barack Obama has written op-eds and popped up at various highly publicized events. The former president has mused about missing the perks of being the leader of the free world and the couple is making really obvious and embarrassing efforts to grab any available mike or spotlight.

If Barack Obama is needed to save the Democrats from themselves, what is a more logical possibility than doing so by offering himself for the nomination?

Get ready, friends. A storm is coming.

This is hilarious. "SAVE US BO!!" they beg.

BO was a master manipulator of race politics and class division. He twisted all the race confrontations early and often. When they were proven fake, he just moved on to the next. BO´s political agenda was punishing the wealthy for high earnings. It was the only "fair" thing to do, even though he admitted it wouldn´t be effective. He reveled in the politics of envy.

The editorial seeks a return to the dem party of old where they could put on Moderate Face for elections and tamp down their Left wing, using them as appropriate for fanatic crowds for media shows but otherwise pretending they weren´t quite that extreme.

BO destroyed the moderate dem party. BOCare caused them to be tossed out. Meanwhile, BO was stoking the fires of the hard Left. BO wanted the rise of the Left, while pretending to be Centrist, until he faced no more elections.

The dems put the pot on the stove on high and now it is boiling over. As like their policies, they were heedless of the foolishness and danger of their actions. THEY are being boiled alive and they don´t much like it. They protest that the heat, that they themselves created, is too high.

Best of all, they want BO, who NEVER showed concern for his party and is the king of "I", to charge forth in a selfless mission to rescue them from what he helped create.

BO will wait until the dust settles and only a few dem candidates are viable. He will offer his "help" for a cost. He will then launch a self-aggrandizing tour that might mention the candidate a couple times.

Dems created and fed the monster that is devouring them. Their fate is well deserved.

The author is baiting Obama knowing full well an appeal to his narcissism might actually get him to put the nail in the coffin. He´s as reviled as Hillary by those whose lives he´s ruined.

Fairfax must think the FBI works for him and should be his private detective and lawyer. The FBI must have better things to do than try to prove Fairfax´s case.

I agree that the writer is baiting Obama, #4, but I am positive Barack Obama would be easily elected if he proves me right about wanting to be president again. Don´t forget how popular he remains and how many morons are able to vote.

Every year starting in late August and ending sometime around late February, Hollywood is consumed with winning an eight-and-a-half-pound gold trophy. Even in a world overrun with awards shows, the Oscars remain the grandest prize, and a Best Picture victory cements filmmakers and actors’ place in history. It also means that, for the rest of time, a lot of people will complain that your movie wasn’t that great and should have lost to some other movie they felt was eminently more deserving. It’s very easy to second-guess the Academy on its Best Picture picks, but while putting together

The Green New Deal that Democrats unveiled last week has a grand ambition to eliminate fossil fuels in 10 years, retrofit every building in America, and guarantee high-paying jobs in the bargain. If you want to see how that works in the real world, consider the public housing projects near Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s New York office. The New York City Housing Authority (Nycha) has a more modest goal of a 30% reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions by 2027. As part of its plan, Nycha is switching to LED lighting, which lasts longer than incandescent bulbs and consumes less energy.

It’s fitting that William Barr’s confirmation as attorney general happened just as two powerful law-enforcement figures were trading accusations involving President Trump. Mr. Barr’s greatest challenge isn’t antitrust deals, immigration policy or even handling special counsel Robert Mueller. His overriding challenge is to reboot a Justice Department that has shredded its reputation and lost the confidence of Congress and the public. It’s hard to feel confident in law enforcement when a former deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Andrew McCabe, reveals

VATICAN CITY—Cardinal Sean O’Malley of Boston, chief adviser to Pope Francis on protecting children from sexual abuse, called a meeting with top papal aides in 2017, concerned the Vatican wasn’t living up to its promise of “zero tolerance.” An appeals panel set up by the pope had reduced the punishments of a number of Catholic priests found guilty of abusing minors. In some cases, the panel canceled their dismissal from the priesthood and gave them short suspensions instead. “If this gets out, it will cause a scandal,” Cardinal O’Malley told Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin,

It is clear that the United States government, far more than the Russian one, interfered in the 2016 campaign. Figures throughout the Obama administration were using their power to investigate Hillary Clinton’s opponent and leaking that information to pols like Harry Reid and sympathetic members of the press to hurt Trump. Many of those figures — from John Brennan to James Comey to Susan Rice — appear on television these days displaying the very anti-Trump bias that drove their official actions during the campaign. We’re told gravely that the Mueller and Congressional investigations aim to protect the people’s democracy

How many other people watched the entire 80 or 85 minutes of President Trump’s rally in El Paso, Texas, Monday night on Fox? The pre-rally expectation was that this event would be an effort to build support for the border wall. Instead, it obviously was a test-run of issues for the 2020 campaign, covering everything from A to Zzz. At 9:55 ET, Sean Hannity cut away from the speech to denounce the border deal emerging in Washington. Then it was back to the rally’s remaining 40 minutes. It was strangely mesmerizing. Let me say this: Any Democrats with a stake

Souvenirs from battlefields the world over can be found in our Division of Political and Military History. Unique among them is a mounted German pigeon. His name is Kaiser, and his story is unique in the annals of military homing pigeon history. He would become one of the longest-held prisoners of war in American history and one of the longest-living pigeons ever bred in captivity. But how did a German war bird come to "live" at the National Museum of American History? Kaiser´s story begins in Koblenz, Germany, in the first week of February 1917. The GOP Majority Leader in the Senate persuaded President Donald Trump to not veto the GOP’s flawed border security bill by promising to back a national emergency construction of border walls, according to insider leaks to the establishment media. The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen. The two hottest commodities in the Democratic Party are Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Earlier this week, Omar exhibited stunning ignorance in her hostile questioning of Elliott Adams Abrams. Similarly, Ocasio-Cortez has often displayed a surprising lack of knowledge for someone who apparently is a college graduate. Don’t get me started on the “Green New Socialism.” But she outdid herself yesterday. The context was Amazon’s announcement that it would not, after all, build a second corporate headquarters in Long Island City, which I understand is close to, but not within, Ocasio-Cortez’s district.
