The Green New Deal Is About
Punishing Working-Class Americans

American Spectator, by Brandon J. Weichert

If you haven’t read the details of the Green New Deal, let me save you the trouble: it’s a raging assault on America’s already-declining working-and-middle-class. When Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her fellow Green-Marxists in the Democratic Party put forward their proposal, they made it clear that this program was intended to be used on the “most at-risk” communities in the United States. Thenow-deleted (though it is archived) FAQ section on Congresswoman Cortez’s website specifically outlines the need to “Reverse climate change by fully rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure,

The Green Nude Eel is about forcing America back into the Dark Ages, where it can easily be defeated by its enemies.

That should be quite obvious.

Drain this movement of its oxygen, aka, press coverage and it goes away.
That this stunning stupid, anti-American radicalism is given any attention is amazing.
Sandy from Westchester is a tool and a fool! The co-sponsors of this bill have identified themselves, so now it’s obvious who not to vote for...EVER AGAIN!

Its like a charge of racism. Do they intend to do all the things overnight that remove ´racial injustice´? Of course not. But it is a convenient tool to beat the hapless opposition with. Interesting to see how Donald turns the tables on this one.

A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation using U.S. Energy Information Administration data for current electrical generation and gasoline consumption figures for the U.S. shows that well over one million additional nuke plants would need to be constructed just to fuel electric cars. That is not even taking into account the location and transmission nightmares involved. Any engineers out there who can back me up on this?

Democrats always ask for more than they know they will settle for, but this time they have truly ´´jumped the shark.´´

People who never pay much attention to them are now paying attention. There is an increasing awareness that the democrats have, in many ways, gone off the deep end. When democrats themselves laugh and make fun of the wackos, you know they are cringing inside!

I hate to be the one to inform you, but...they´re already implementing her plan. The goofy Democrats have already started shutting down the coal and nuclear power plants. An article on Drudge today said that the power grid in the midwest may go critical in the near future and endanger about 65 million people. A previous article described how the natural gas-powered plants were strained by late deliveries during the extreme cold wave recently and resulted in alerts requesting keeping homes below 60 degrees.

Little Miss Tippy Top said this problem was "existential". She has no clue what that word means but she´s right for all the wrong reasons.

Wake up! Stop the lunacy in your area of the country before it gets any worse. If you don´t, we´re all going to learn what the Dark Ages were like without having to read any history books.

Its all about control. If you work, you are more free since you have more wealth. The lefty big government types do not want that. Besides it makes all the loafers feel inadequate, and heaven forbid if we had that. They want to be Lords, and the rest of us as Serfs living in hovels serving them, and they do not care if we live or die. It is modern day feudalism. The Green New Deal takes us backwards, not forwards.

I´ve got a question for Sandy Occasional-Cortex...

When Trump pulled the US out of the Paris Accord, the United States had already cut our emissions more than any other country.

If, somehow, we get to "net-zero" and no other country cuts their emissions, then what good has our sacrifice done??

Will the world still end in twelve years??

What will our place in the world look like, when we have voluntarily gone back to the 17th century and the rest of the world is still using 21st century technology??

The "Green Deal" is about POWER. The proponents want to create their idea of utopia. We are not to have any voice in the matter, because we are a bunch of stupid deplorables. Only they possess the divine wisdom to "know whats best for us." For them to succeed, they must control every aspect of our lives. They will use whatever force is necessary to suppress opposition and achieve this fantasy.

Whether you call it Socialism or Fascism, it is Totalitarianism. And, every country where it has been implemented has been turned into a living hell for all but the very few in control. It would destroy America.

Punishing the working-class (and nearly everybody else) would be a by product of this lunacy.

All the billionaires in America are not going to pay enough taxes by a long shot to fund the leftist and liberal Democrats so-called New Green Deal that would cost more than all the existing government programs combined.

The Democrats have not said what government programs they would cut to reprogram money into their New Green Deal, but you can bet that the US Armed Forces are their primary target, beginning with abolishing the extreme US Marine Corps and much of the US Army, mothballing the Navy aircraft carriers and support ships, and grounding and disposing of the expeditionary capabilities of the US Air Force.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that the big tax money that the US Government collects every year comes from the vast middle class of Americans who make the country go. While the Democrat snow job claims to be attuned to helping the middle class, in reality their socialist programs are attuned to forcing the middle class to pay a lot more taxes.

To follow on to #13, here´s another question:

If we are to eliminate most cars and airplanes in ten years, why should we invest .. er, spend large sums rebuilding roads, bridges, and airports with a new "infrastructure" bill?

Just shut everything down ..

.. at least until the Dems agree to a serious budget.

Don’t have a cow, man - unless it´s at Petco. A man and woman from Texas couldn’t help but laugh as they recently walked their leashed steer into a Houston-area Petco to really see if “all leashed pets are welcome” at the store. To Shelly Lumpkin and Vincent Browning’s surprise, the African Watusi was welcomed “with open arms,” Browning wrote on his Facebook page on Monday. “The staff members here are always super friendly and courteous to us. We really enjoy coming to this location...our favorite Petco BY FAR!!” The post has since earned more than 400,000 views.

Now that special counsel Robert Mueller has completed his investigation, it is tempting to breathe a sigh of relief and assume that our long national nightmare is over. Resist the temptation, the assumption is false. We are not close to the end. Not by a long shot. In fact, I believe the last two years, as traumatic as they were, will prove to be the easier part of the nightmare, because Mueller dealt only with whether Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign conspired with Russia to swing the election. Based on what we know so far, especially that no more indictments are coming,

NEW YORK -- Breaking news: Donald J. Trump won the presidency, fair and square. He does not occupy the Oval Office due to an elaborate plot involving the KGB, the Kremlin, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin, or the ghosts of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg. Instead, he won the old-fashioned way: He followed the rules and out-foxed and out-worked Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton. Hillary, in turn, appeared at only 63 rallies in the final 99 days of the 2016 general-election campaign (versus 132 for Trump), as Gateway Pundit’s Joe Hoft calculated. I suppose it’s true that “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” as the Washington Post’s slogan says. But journalism may also die, by morphing into forms that can no longer be described as journalism. Journalism may come to mean a crooked scandal sheet, or high-minded propaganda. Sometimes squalor and self-righteousness are equally disreputable. The Post’s apothegm, somehow off-kilter, with its alliteration and self-importance, was a purposeful bit of branding, designed to claim high ground and to poke a thumb in President Trump’s eye every morning. Such partisan intent detracts from the slogan’s claim to universality. The self-serving implication—the notion that,

This means that Mueller firmly expects to file no more criminal charges, which pretty much confirms that all the media and political hysteria about his investigation was driven more by partisan wishful thinking than by anything resembling hard evidence. And that hysteria used up far too much time and attention in a nation with plenty of real issues to worry about. Yes, as much as possible of Mueller’s report should be released to the public,

A constant refrain we now hear is that President Trump’s order to finance the wall is “unconstitutional” and “violates the separation of powers.” That is not the case. Richard H. Pildes, a professor of constitutional law at New York University, wrote on March 14 the clarifying article, “How the Supreme Court Weakened Congress on Emergency Declarations.” Here are his salient points: Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to build the wall derives from that singular authority in the National Emergencies Act (NEA), passed by Congress in l976. Since then, presidents have resorted to the NEA 58 times.
