Donald Trump in 2016 did not only run against the planted rumors of the fake Steele dossier, 90 percent negative media coverage, his own boisterous past, and the “Access Hollywood” tape. He also was campaigning against Hillary Clinton—and the nation’s quarter-century weariness with the Clinton scandals, crimes, money-grubbing, and hypocrisies. For a quarter of the country, independents especially, a vote for Trump was not a referendum on a Democrat or Republican, or even love or hate for Donald Trump, but rather reflected a “Never Hillary” desire to be done with the very name Clinton.

Sorry about a double post...
FTA: [T]he Democrats have largely done that to themselves. Policy-wise the 2020 choice will be between Trump’s mostly doctrinaire conservatism, spiced with populist trade and immigration agendas, and what is a now a new Democrat orthodoxy of Bernie Sanders’ adolescent socialism and incoherent Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Neverland something or other...
Pray over the next years VDH´s critical thinking and cogent analysis will help Americans save ourselves from each other.

Whenever Dr. Hanson writes it should’ve a must read. He nails it every time.
He notes at the end that Trump has been quiet lately. I noticed that as well. The point is the rats are coming out of the woodwork and telling the world about who the really are. Trump doesn’t have to say a word as the left is doing all the talking for him.
Let them implode. They will leave behind a massive bunker of ammunition to be used against them in 2020.

The Republicans are wasting their time attempting to negotiate with the leftist and liberal Democrats on effective borderline security or the effective enforcement of the immigration laws.
The Democrats, with facilitation from some Chamber of Commerce cheap labor Republicans, have liberalized the immigration laws, and enforcement protocols by inserting “catch and release” rules that require that most illegal aliens caught unlawfully crossing the borderline must be released into the USA to await an immigration court hearing that due to massive immigration court backlogs cannot be scheduled for about four years, during which time the illegal aliens have “free run” of the USA. Then when a hearing is scheduled over 80% of the illegal aliens fail to appear and instead abscond and hide out to await amnesty. No doubt many of those illegal aliens are foreign criminals who would be inadmissible to the USA under any conditions if the immigration laws were being enforced.
The reason the Democrats will not support the effective enforcement of the borderline or the immigration laws is that they consider the 22 million person illegal alien population now thought to be in the USA, that consists of mostly poor, uneducated, and socialist minded people from undeveloped and underdeveloped countries to be natural future socialist oriented Democrat voters after they are eventually granted amnesty and are given US voting rights. By taking the political position to use millions of illegal aliens to effect a permanent change the national voter demographics to their favor, the Democrats are hurting the country bigtime, and are encouraging a lot more mass uncontrolled illegal immigration.

#4: Your last paragraph cannot be denied.
PDJT should repeat that message as the wall is being built -- with or without a national emergency -- then at rallies and in ads throughout the 2020 race.

Stop Sneering at Evangelicals for Supporting Trump

The religious left is still looking down on conservative Christian peons for supporting imperfect, feisty Trump. Throughout social media and elsewhere, the left accuses us of compromising our faith and standards. Prof. Randall Balmer of Dartmouth University recently posted an opinion piece at the Los Angeles Times with the ironic title “God Is on Team Trump? Let’s take a quick check with the Bible.” The sarcasm is seen when God is on Trump’s team, not the other way around. Then he proceeds to dismantle -- at least in his mind -- evangelical support for Trump.

You’re in the shower. The phone rings. Your husband is out of town and you’ve been waiting for his call. You push through the curtain, your hair full of shampoo, you grab the phone and blurt out, “Hello?" “Hello,” a voice answers, “this is Cindy with card services …” You’re in the car. You’re on the way to the hospital. Your phone rings. You think it might be the doctor. You feel around, find the phone, hold it to your ear while keeping your eyes on the road. “Hello?” you say anxiously.

Defrocking McCarrick Before the Abuse Summit

With his “abuse summit” a few days away, Pope Francis finally got around to defrocking the sexual predator Theodore McCarrick this week. The move appears to have been driven by optics more than anything else. It would have simply been too embarrassing for the pope to conduct the summit with the McCarrick matter still unresolved. The pope’s ostensible hope in delaying the abuse summit until this year was that interest in the scandal would dissipate. It hasn’t. The pope is already signaling that the summit will yield few results. He has bemoaned its “inflated expectations.”

If you get the lion’s share of your news from America’s prestige media outlets, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the principal religious-freedom issue in America is whether a few Christian business owners can discriminate against their gay customers. Whether the controversy is a media-created fiction (think of Indiana’s Memories Pizza — a store that never denied anyone service) or an actual court case, like Masterpiece Cakeshop, the narrative is the same. The battle over “religious liberty” — yes, the scare quotes are often all too real — is the battle over the right

Even President Trump’s supporters do not fully realize the job he has done. As I have written in the past, during the course of a wonderful rabbinic career that has given me so much personal satisfaction and fulfillment and that hopefully has touched the lives of my flocks, I once endured the Twilight Zone interlude of being rabbi of one of the worst Nightmare Congregations in America. (Two of my dearest friends, both Christian pastors, have enlightened me that the experience was not unique, and both pointed me to an extraordinary book, Clergy Killers,

Had it with the rising costs, hidden fees, contracts, customer service issues, and the nickel and dime-ing of cable TV? You´re not alone. According to a report in Variety, more than 33 million people have cut the cord on traditional pay TV. This year, that number is expected to grow to more than 39 million. Many of these cord-cutters are now relying on internet-based services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu as well as live TV providers that mimic what you´d get with a typical cable subscription

If he finds that there was no direct collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, will you accept that?” Schiff, “We’re going to have to do our own investigation, and we are.

That Justice Department officials were having discussions about ousting a sitting president should concern every American. It is simply astonishing that these actors allegedly held conversations around the notion of seizing power from the elected head of the executive branch. Obviously, heads should roll, but really such a plot should result in criminal prosecutions with all the high-profile force that was used to arrest Roger Stone. The new revelations come to us care of former FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe, who has written a book and is shilling it on “60 Minutes.” The interview will air in full on Sunday,

MUNICH — Speaking on German soil 75 years after the U.S. and its allies prepared for D-Day, Joe Biden described America as "an embarrassment" and its trade policies "self-defeating." "The America I see values basic human decency, not snatching children from their parents or turning our back on refugees at our border. Americans know that’s not right,” the former vice president and potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate told the Munich Security Conference. "The American people understand plainly that this makes us an embarrassment. The American people know, overwhelmingly, that it is not right.

MILWAUKEE — Gregory Greiten was 17 years old when the priests organized the game. It was 1982 and he was on a retreat with his classmates from St. Lawrence, a Roman Catholic seminary for teenage boys training to become priests. Leaders asked each boy to rank which he would rather be: burned over 90 percent of his body, paraplegic, or gay. Each chose to be scorched or paralyzed. Not one uttered the word “gay.” They called the game the Game of Life. The lesson stuck. Seven years later, he climbed up into his seminary

Congratulations, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez! You just killed 25,000 jobs for urban Democrats in one of the most racially and ethnically diverse areas in the entire world! Congresswoman AOC, the thought leader of the Democratic party, was the loudest and feistiest political opponent when Amazon announced it would build (half of) its second headquarters in Long Island City, Queens, promising to create 25,000 jobs and generate some $27.5 billion in tax revenue over the next 25 years. Amazon employs a range of people from unskilled workers to tech geniuses and would have pumped large amounts of money into the city economy.
