Romney to build political
war chest and offer riches
to fellow Republicans

Washington Examiner, by David M. Drucker

Original Article

Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah is putting his political muscle to work for Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill, launching a new vehicle for high-dollar fundraising and planning to headline events around the country in the months ahead. Romney, the GOP presidential nominee in 2012 and among the party’s most prolific fundraisers, has formed “Team Mitt,” a joint fundraising committee with the National Republican Senatorial Committee. This weekend, the senator is traveling to Florida to mingle with Republican donors attending an annual NRSC finance retreat, the first of several trips planned to help protect the party’s Senate majority in 2020.

Comments:
Candidates funded by Romney should be avoided at every opportunity. Don’t refill the swamp.

Seems like everyone wants to focus on the reactions of the white-clad crowd from the SOTU message to see if they were "offended" as if THAT was big news....

What about the stone-faced and sullen looking glances the camera took of Mittens?

The GOPe RINOS have brought us to this place.
They say big government, big spending, and cheap labor from illegal aliens is okay as long as they are in charge--

Ronald Reagan said he didn´t leave the democrat party, IT left HIM. Many millions of us can say the republican party has likewise LEFT US since the RINOs have given away the VERY THINGS that have long separated us from the demonrat socialists.

People like Mittens, Ryano, and Bonehead have GIVEN AWAY the notion that the republican party is listening to the base to the point that the national party now has these Romneyites backstabbing Mr. Trump at every turn.

McPain and Mittens were ineffective candidates and their losses in the national elections have brought us to this point in time where standing up proudly for traditional republican principles makes one an adversary of certain people in DC who live in their own little world.

The leaders of both parties no longer listen to the voice and the will of the people, but seek to enrich themselves and make iron-fisted moves to retain power for themselves.

Have to wonder who will be donating to Mitt Romney´s war chest. Wouldn´t be surprised if Soros or Steyer(?) show up indirectly. In many ways Mutt is a big government lefty operative. Mutt is the biggest NeverTrumper of all, and he is coordinating their efforts. These people will stab the President in the back. Mutt is at a meeting with 20 fellow GOP Senators, and big-money donors. Do you really think these people will operate in our best interests? That is nearly half of the GOP Senate. How can you depend on the Republicans? What do you do when the choice is a big government lefty Democrat, and a big government slightly less left Republican?

Now we know why he submitted that anti-Trump op-ed in the Washington Post: gain attention then throw money around to consolidate a bloc in the Senate to undermine his party´s President and his nation´s citizens.

I wonder at this point if he is any better a person than Ted Kennedy was.

I hope am I wrong. I hope he loves the Constitution and wants to preserve the USA, not accede to One World Government (a ´conspiracy theory´ I laughed at when I was young).

This brings back memories of Nelson Rockefeller (who I met in 1970, and was surprised that he was short.)
Rockefeller tried to help the republicans, but didn´t.
If Mitt wants to raise campaign funds, and support authentic republicans, I´m in favor of that.
That takes pressure off our beloved president, who doesn´t have to do as much fundraising.
Mitt, in his own way, may help make America great again.
But the first time he badmouths DJT, he can go to Mormon hell.

If you get the lion’s share of your news from America’s prestige media outlets, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the principal religious-freedom issue in America is whether a few Christian business owners can discriminate against their gay customers. Whether the controversy is a media-created fiction (think of Indiana’s Memories Pizza — a store that never denied anyone service) or an actual court case, like Masterpiece Cakeshop, the narrative is the same. The battle over “religious liberty” — yes, the scare quotes are often all too real — is the battle over the right

Donald Trump in 2016 did not only run against the planted rumors of the fake Steele dossier, 90 percent negative media coverage, his own boisterous past, and the “Access Hollywood” tape. He also was campaigning against Hillary Clinton—and the nation’s quarter-century weariness with the Clinton scandals, crimes, money-grubbing, and hypocrisies. For a quarter of the country, independents especially, a vote for Trump was not a referendum on a Democrat or Republican, or even love or hate for Donald Trump, but rather reflected a “Never Hillary” desire to be done with the very name Clinton.

The Vatican´s former doctrine chief has penned a "manifesto of faith" to remind Catholics of basic tenets of belief amid what he says is "growing confusion" in the church today. Cardinal Gerhard Mueller didn´t name Pope Francis in his four-page manifesto, released late Friday. But the document was nevertheless a clear manifestation of conservative criticism of Francis´ emphasis on mercy and accompaniment versus a focus on repeating Catholic morals and doctrine during the previous two papacies. Mueller wrote that a pastor´s failure to teach Catholic truths was the greatest deception - "It is the fraud of the anti-Christ."

WASHINGTON— What is happening to the Democrats? Captivated by a handful of liberal superstars, they are venturing where the party has long feared to tread: Steep taxes on the rich. Abolishing an immigration enforcement agency. Proposing "economic transformation" to combat climate change. Gleefully waving goodbye to a big business — and its jobs. On Thursday, newly-elected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez led a chorus of cheers as Amazon announced it was abandoning plans to build a sought-after headquarters in New York City. Activists berated the online giant for a $3 billion package of tax breaks she said the city could better invest

If Washington, D.C. were a better place, former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe would be swiftly run out of town. He was fired last year for lying to the FBI’s inspector general at least four times regarding serious questions about multiple abuses that occurred while McCabe sat in a powerful and unelected office. These abuses included working with former FBI director James Comey to set up former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus for obstruction charges, slow-walking and sabotaging the investigation of yet unseen Hillary Clinton emails found on Anthony Weiner’s computer just before the 2016 election,

Andrew McCabe is a national disgrace. He was part of the most corrupt and most partisan leadership team in FBI history and was fired for being dishonest under oath. And yet, America owes him a big thank-you. McCabe, you see, has reminded us once again that there really is a powerful deep state, and that there has not been a full accounting of rampant FBI misconduct during the presidential campaign of 2016. There is also still too much we don’t know about the role top aides to then-President Barack Obama and higher-ups in the Justice Department

WASHINGTON – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s relationship with boyfriend Riley Roberts is official. Roberts has been granted a government “house.gov” email address so he can access Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional calendar, the 29-year-old congresswoman confirmed Friday. Spouses of members of Congress are afforded privileges, such as a House email address, a congressional pin to bypass security and a House license plate to enter Capitol grounds and enjoy parking privileges, House aides say. While he’s not officially a spouse, Roberts can have access to House email for calendar purposes, according to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer of the House. “From time to

Andrew McCabe on Friday denied that he knew of an effort to oust President Trump using the 25th Amendment, saying he never had “any extended discussions” about the matter and was unaware of such talks. “At no time did Mr. McCabe participate in any extended discussions about the use of the 25th Amendment, nor is he aware of any such discussions,” his spokeswoman, Melissa Schwartz, said in a statement on Twitter, adding that his remarks about the issue were taken out of context. She said McCabe “was present and participated in a discussion that included a comment by Deputy Attorney
