The hysteria over black face in the early 80´s is just faux outrage. By today´s standards its at best in poor taste at worst racist. But way back when, it was funny. So were ethnic and dumb blond jokes.

I tend to not hold mature adults responsible 30 plus years later for stuff they did in their 20´s. It was a different time and a lot more questionable activities were permissible.

Just wait..... 20 years from now, anyone that wasnt pro same sex marriage in the 1990´s will be forced from office. And in the 90´s, 80-90% of the population believed that same sex marriage was wrong.

So it’s ok. The governor should have. But instead he dressed as a black male. So it’s ok for Joy. All is forgiven. Gotta do this right or there are consequences

Eddie Cantor and all the other burlesque shows back in the 20th Century ( 1900´s ) would be in a lot of P.C.trouble today, and they were using ´Blackface´ as comedy, not in a disparaging way. How the World has changed and how minorities have become such harassed victims ? Of course one has to be of a certain age to even understand what burlesque was and how much entertainment it provided. Even Jack Benny´s radio show with Rochester, the Black butler, would today be ostracized.
Minorities ought to just lighten ( no pun ) up a bit and enjoy the World instead of playing the never-ending victim. There are MANY minorities and it isn´t always evidenced by skin color but WE don´t always play victim
as it serves no purpose. Just roll with the punches.

Bernie Sanders said Tuesday he’s running for President again, and we trust this time no one will sell his chances short. Having come close to winning the Democratic nomination in 2016, the Vermont socialist should get the scrutiny he dodged last time. (Snip)Mr. Sanders has already had to apologize to women who worked for his campaign in 2016 and say they were harassed by male staffers. He can also expect more scrutiny for the dealings of his wife, Jane O’Meara Sanders, who has been his congressional chief of staff and remains among his most trusted advisers. Her tenure

He was “Big Newk” in every way. Don Newcombe, who died Tuesday at age 92, was the biggest guy on the field, as the 6-4, 225-pound pitching ace of the 1950’s “Boys of Summer” Dodgers in Brooklyn, who became the first of only two players in baseball history to win Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Cy Young Award honors – and was likewise a big man off it, as a pioneer in breaking down racial barriers in baseball and later as the game’s foremost spokesman on alcohol and drug abuse. For the last two years, millions of Americans have come to view Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as a kind of national insurance policy. This assessment is now in need of revision. Rosenstein is the guy who appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate whether Russia tried to interfere in the 2016 election a week after President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. As the president rages on Twitter, Rosenstein is seen as the avatar of what one anonymous administration called the “steady state” — the resistance to Trump from within.

El Paso’s Tigua Native American tribe suffered another major defeat this week in their quarter-century battle with Texas over casino-style gaming when a federal judge ruled that their bingo and machine games violated state law. MILWAUKEE — Gregory Greiten was 17 years old when the priests organized the game. It was 1982 and he was on a retreat with his classmates from St. Lawrence, a Roman Catholic seminary for teenage boys training to become priests. Leaders asked each boy to rank which he would rather be: burned over 90 percent of his body, paraplegic, or gay. Each chose to be scorched or paralyzed. Not one uttered the word “gay.” They called the game the Game of Life. The lesson stuck. Seven years later, he climbed up into his seminary

Every year starting in late August and ending sometime around late February, Hollywood is consumed with winning an eight-and-a-half-pound gold trophy. Even in a world overrun with awards shows, the Oscars remain the grandest prize, and a Best Picture victory cements filmmakers and actors’ place in history. The Green New Deal that Democrats unveiled last week has a grand ambition to eliminate fossil fuels in 10 years, retrofit every building in America, and guarantee high-paying jobs in the bargain. If you want to see how that works in the real world, consider the public housing projects near Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s New York office. The New York City Housing Authority (Nycha) has a more modest goal of a 30% reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions by 2027. As part of its plan, Nycha is switching to LED lighting, which lasts longer than incandescent bulbs and consumes less energy.

Conservative CNN host S.E. Cupp took aim at Republican lawmakers in the opening of her Saturday evening television show, slamming them for apparently abandoning their traditional “principles” in support of President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration regarding the United States’ border with Mexico. “Knock, knock Republicans, anybody home?” Cupp, who identifies as a Republican but has been a staunch critic of Trump, said. “Any Republicans in Washington have a problem with this? Remember conservatism? Limited government? You know, your principles?” she asked in frustration.

Sen. Cory Booker is proposing a plan—the American Opportunity Accounts Act—that he calculates will provide $46,215 to every 18-year-old in the lowest income bracket by giving them annual subsidies in a federally managed saving account. Booker cited his plan in a Tweet he sent out this morning. “We must close the wealth gap that’s undermining equal opportunity in our country,” Booker said in his Tweet. “My baby bonds will help level the playing field by creating a savings account for every U.S. child—to invest in themselves through things like paying for higher education.” Booker’s Tweet retweeted an article Tweeted by

A lot of Americans are justifiably angry that disgraced FBI official Andrew McCabe is doing a book tour rather than a stretch in some federal penitentiary. He has committed perjury on multiple occasions, participated in an attempt to alter the outcome of a national election, and colluded with other rogue bureaucrats to remove a duly elected president from power. But there is a bright and shiny silver lining to this dingy cloud of deep state skullduggery: Donald Trump still resides in the White House while Hillary Clinton stumbles around her Chappaqua mansion in a muumuu hugging a fifth of Glenfiddich.

CBS journalist Lara Logan on Friday unleashed a blistering, uncensored attack on the extreme liberal bias polluting America´s news outlets. Logan derided the “horses**t” “propagandist” press that had no interest in fairness. Appearing on Mike Drop, the podcast of former Navy SEAL Mike Ritland, the foreign affairs correspondent and occasional 60 Minutes reporter berated slanted coverage in a way rarely seen by those in the mainstream press: “We’ve become political activists in a sense. And some could argue, propagandists, right?”

The “we reported the Jussie Smollett case responsibly” contention has been blasted to smithereens. Twitter accounts and headlines in the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times reported as fact Jussie Smollett’s wildly implausible allegations, and many other journalists did so as well, not to mention the innumerable activists and celebrities who piled on. So, a question for all of the above. Why did you believe Jussie Smollett? Let’s try to catalogue the red flags. Had you ever heard of Jussie Smollett before the alleged January 29 attack? Do you think it likely
