Stacey Abrams Delivers Democratic SOTU
Response: Voter Suppression Is Real,
Can No Longer Ignore

Real Clear Politics, by Ian Schwarz

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 2/6/2019 7:27:43 AM

Stacey Abrams, the rising political star who marshaled the power of black women voters but narrowly lost the Georgia governor’s race, delivered the Democratic response to President Donald Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address. "Let´s be clear. Voter suppression is real. From making it harder to register and stay on the rolls to moving and closing polling places to rejecting lawful ballots, we can no longer ignore these threats to democracy. While I acknowledge the results of the 2018 election here in Georgia,

Real voter suppression is aimed at real citizens. Voter fraud is very real

Not it is not! Voter fraud is a much greater issue and you and your Democrat felon comrades know that.

"Rising Political Star". Sounds like a loaf of home made bread baking in an oven. With all that dough on Stacy she should be "rising".

It is time to clearly define "voter".

Definition should require 1) US Citizenship, 2) Living person, and 3) at least 18 years of age.

Limit of 1 vote per election with the ballot being filled out by the voter of record.

Some realistic knowledge of the US Constitution and basic civics would be a bonus.

We watched some of her speech, which ended up yet another Democrat anti-Trump rant. Her face tends to look angry until she breaks into smiles at inappropriate moments. Someone has coached her to smile. Coached smiles never work because they don’t match what is being said.

She hung on too long after the election and is still carrying that grudge. An open sore.

I do not care for her and am amazed that she has come so far that she is considered a “rising star”. Rather than ascending, she is being pushed, lifted. By Chuckie Schumer, they say.

BTW, the things that give rise to complaints about voter suppression are the census question about citizenship and the employment of national ID cards to prove citizenship. Stacey welcomes illegals:

Abrams was speaking with supporters at the Clayton County campaign office during an event with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.). She touted the diversity of the coming "blue wave" that she thinks will sweep Democrats into office nationwide.

"The thing of it is, the blue wave is African American. It is white. It is Latino. It is Asian-Pacific Islander," she said, going through a diverse list of groups.

"It is made up of those who´ve been told that they are not worthy of being here. It is comprised of those who are documented and undocumented," she said.

So, by being smart enough to follow the simple rules, being legally entitled to vote, registering, showing up at the appointed time and place, and correctly filling out and submitting a ballot, white folk are suppressing black voters. Poor benighted souls, it seems, are disproportionately incapable of following those very straightforward steps, even with personal help at the polls, provisional ballots, voter registration drives, rides to the polls, and many days to vote prior to Election Day. And that’s the legal special help. That doesn’t paint a very good picture, Miz Stacey. What more do you need?

I´m fine with looking into voter suppression. Just like the voter suppression in Philadelphia during the Obama elections when the Black Panthers intimidated (threatened?) Republican/white voters who turned out.

Now, is she willing to join in a bipartisan effort to purge voter rolls of dead, non-resident, and illegal voters? My guess is that this is the type of voter suppression she is talking about preventing.

That is (also) why all this gnashing of teeth and rending of garments over ´voter suppression´. They know exactly what they are saying. Unfortunately for them, so do the voters.

This is from another planet:

The Republican tax bill rigged the system against working people. Rather than bringing back jobs, plants are closing, layoffs are looming, and wages struggle to keep pace with the actual cost of living. We owe more to the millions of everyday folks who keep our economy running, like truck drivers forced to buy their own rigs, farmers caught in a trade war, small-business owners in search of capital, and domestic workers serving without labor protections.

If by ´domestic workers´ you mean illegals... then yeah. Soybean farmers might be getting the short end for a short period here because of the negotiations with China... but, are you saying we should accept Chinese theft and economy rigging?

As to voter suppression? MAKE EVERY VOTER RE- REGISTER USING THE GUN PURCHASE BACKGROUND CHECK. Voting is important. As important as being able to buy a weapon. Don´t demean it with postcard applications and rote approvals.

After all, Democrats tell us that you´re not responsible enough to buy liquor, buy cigarettes and now buy firearms, until you´re 21, then something as important and in many cases, complicated, as voting on taxes, regulations, propositions, etc.. should be raised to 21 too.

It seems that the leftist and liberal Democrat quite frequently and fraudulently accuse the wimpy Republicans of what they themselves are doing. The truth be known, the leftist and liberal Democrats plan is to cancel out and suppress enough of the future “deplorable” Republican vote in key States by flooding the USA with millions of foreign born individuals, by both illegal and legal immigration, the vast majority of who are poor, uneducated, and socialist minded people, who the Democrats believe will form a massive future Democrat identity based voter constituency population, after being legalized and eventually granted US voting rights, thus permanently transforming US voter demographics to the political benefit of the Democrats. Obviously the Democrats would not be supporting that plan if they ever thought that more then a very small percentage of the 22 million illegal aliens now thought to be in the USA, who the Democrats want to legalize and morph into “New Americans”, would ever vote for the Republicans.

As the 2020 election nears, there is as yet no coherent Democratic response to the Trump agenda. If Trump himself is unpopular and polarizing, his agenda is for the most part in sync with a majority of Americans who like the 3% annualized GDP growth; near-record peacetime unemployment; record natural gas and oil production; young, scholarly and constructionist justices; pro-Israel Mideast politics; and realism about NATO laxity, the flawed Iran Deal, and the Paris Climate Accord, Chinese mercantilism, and the past inability of the U.S. to translate battlefield victories abroad into lasting security and strategic advantages.

There are two diametrically opposed lines of thinking about Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller´s investigation. The first is that he is winding down his probe and is unlikely to allege that the Trump campaign and Russia conspired to fix the 2016 presidential election. The second is that he is still going strong, with the biggest charges, perhaps including the fabled collusion allegation, yet to come. Which is correct? No one outside the Mueller office knows. There are data points, or at least tea leaves, pointing in all directions.

There are new revelations about what took place in Washington during the extraordinary period from May 9, 2017, when President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, to May 17, 2017 when Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed. The short version is: The reports were true. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein really did discuss wearing a wire to secretly record the president. Rosenstein and others did discuss invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office. And the FBI did adopt an aggressive new investigation strategy, targeting the president himself, almost instantly after the Comey firing.

Warren said, “I’m not the one who hangs out in his office and who sees him everyday and sees how well or how poorly he able to manage from day to day with the decisions he

To prove that there´s a border emergency, President Trump must stop eating omelets! Ridiculous, you might say. And yet, on this morning´s New Day, CNN´s John Avlon, Alisyn Camerota and Jeff Toobin mocked President Trump for eating an omelet, somehow suggesting it debunks the existence of an emergency. After displaying a photo of Trump at a Mar-a-Lago omelet bar, the trio engaged in this banter:JOHN AVLON: While ´emergency´ is not defined in this statute, the dictionary definition of emergency certainly doesn´t fit this. And this weekend, he´s at Mar-a-Lago at the omelet bar, also not exactly communicating urgency. CAMEROTA: Nothing

In the never ending race to the bottom, Oregon state senator Shemia Fagan is introducing legislation that would lower the voting age in the state to 16. Citing abortion and stripping away 2nd Amendment rights, Fagan introduced the legislation on Monday, at the behest of doorbelling-for-democrats operation known as the Bus Project.Oregon Public Broadcasting reports: “It’s time to lower the voting age in Oregon and to give our young people a chance to participate in the ballot, about their decisions that affect their homes, their clean air, their future, their schools and as we’ve seen, their very lives,” Fagan said.

The U.S. Transportation Department announced Tuesday it would attempt to cancel $929 million in federal grant funds for California’s troubled high-speed rail project. The move marks an escalation in the war between President Trump and California in the days since Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a rethinking of the bullet train project after years of cost overruns. The Transportation Department also announced it was “actively exploring every legal option to seek the return from California of $2.5 billion in federal funds.” It’s unclear whether it has the legal authority to do so, and California would probably oppose such a move.In a

Now for the charming topics of Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Ed Markey, and the so-called “Green New Deal.” If ever there was a multi-pronged way to snatch Depression from the Jaws of prosperity, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez seems to have hit upon it. Ms. AOC has discovered that the planet is warming to an alarming degree. Never mind that she is in no sense a scientist. Never mind that many climatologists say that climate change is a hoax — and many say it’s not a hoax at all. Never mind that there are many different possible causes of climate change and that human activity

Conservative CNN host S.E. Cupp took aim at Republican lawmakers in the opening of her Saturday evening television show, slamming them for apparently abandoning their traditional “principles” in support of President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration regarding the United States’ border with Mexico. “Knock, knock Republicans, anybody home?” Cupp, who identifies as a Republican but has been a staunch critic of Trump, said. “Any Republicans in Washington have a problem with this? Remember conservatism? Limited government? You know, your principles?” she asked in frustration.

Failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton warned of “real national emergencies” that included “Americans dying for lack of health care,” despite Obamacare remaining in place. Clinton posted a message Monday appearing to take aim at President Donald Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the U.S. southern border. She offered four alternative “real national emergencies.” The real national emergencies: – Relentless gun violence. – Children separated from their families at the border. – Climate change. – Americans dying for lack of health care. Clinton identified “real national emergencies” as: – Relentless gun violence

CBS journalist Lara Logan on Friday unleashed a blistering, uncensored attack on the extreme liberal bias polluting America´s news outlets. Logan derided the “horses**t” “propagandist” press that had no interest in fairness. Appearing on Mike Drop, the podcast of former Navy SEAL Mike Ritland, the foreign affairs correspondent and occasional 60 Minutes reporter berated slanted coverage in a way rarely seen by those in the mainstream press: “We’ve become political activists in a sense. And some could argue, propagandists, right?”

A lot of Americans are justifiably angry that disgraced FBI official Andrew McCabe is doing a book tour rather than a stretch in some federal penitentiary. He has committed perjury on multiple occasions, participated in an attempt to alter the outcome of a national election, and colluded with other rogue bureaucrats to remove a duly elected president from power. But there is a bright and shiny silver lining to this dingy cloud of deep state skullduggery: Donald Trump still resides in the White House while Hillary Clinton stumbles around her Chappaqua mansion in a muumuu hugging a fifth of Glenfiddich.

The “we reported the Jussie Smollett case responsibly” contention has been blasted to smithereens. Twitter accounts and headlines in the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times reported as fact Jussie Smollett’s wildly implausible allegations, and many other journalists did so as well, not to mention the innumerable activists and celebrities who piled on. So, a question for all of the above. Why did you believe Jussie Smollett? Let’s try to catalogue the red flags. Had you ever heard of Jussie Smollett before the alleged January 29 attack? Do you think it likely
