Biden’s Anguished Search
for a Path to Victory

Atlantic, by Edward-Isaac Dovere

Original Article

Joe Biden reliably blows through every public and private deadline for making a decision about running for president. But he’s giving everyone he’s seen in recent weeks the feeling that he’s very close to saying yes. The urgency of Biden’s planning has stepped up since the beginning of the year and serves as a window into the complexity of this moment in American politics, with Donald Trump halfway through his chaotic first term and a diverse and progressive field of Democrats already lined up to run against him in 2020.

Comments:
I think every person in Congress dreams of being President. Joe Biden has missed whatever chance he may have had and this will be another one of his every-four-years teasing with a little bit of leg before deciding not to run.

Odd that he has trouble making a big decision.
When he was a single Law student, and Selective Service began drafting single graduate students, Old Joe found a wife in a nanosecond, which allowed him to keep his student deferment.
Then when Selective Service began drafting married men with no children, Joe´s wife became pregnant immediately.
And when his new wife died in a car accident (Joe said the other driver was drunk, but that was a lie) Joe quickly found a new wife to take care of his child.
Color me cynical.

Joe Biden 2020 = Bob Dole 1996

...except Bob Dole is a true war hero, has a genuine sense of humor and can usually remember what he ate for breakfast.

And his big problem is, he is crazy- but, the DemoKKKrat party has left him way behind and too close to the center (even though he is light years away from it). So, ´Joe "Feels them up before your eyes" Biden will have to quickly get a lot crazier before he can be a viable 2020 Crazy Party candidate.

First Joe Biden is too old for the far left radical socialist crazies in the democrat party they all see that. In primary debates gaff a minute Joe would be an easy target to for the crazies. Second Joe would have to be a ´person of color´ and I don´t mean white is a color. Joe would have to maybe be homosexual or even transgender just to get a second look. That won´t happen but Joe would just plain have to be a female black or Hispanic and change his name to Josephine Biden.

The dem primary is going to be a brawl and I wonder if Biden will jump into it? He talked about wanting to "beat the hell" out of Trump so maybe he will. But if THAT is the standard of the dem party, how are they any different than their accusations of Trump being too crude?

Beyond that, Biden has a serious mouth problem. The more he talks the more likely it is that he will say something stupid, which he does with regularity.

When "your team" is made up of a patchwork quilt of baby murderers, race haters, illegal aliens, Christian haters, man-haters, lesbians, homosexuals, convicted felons, pedophiles and hookers, it is pretty easy to make a tiny error and anger one of the hair trigger hate constituencies strapped together in this steel cage fighting team, and have them attack you.

A pile of insane, foaming-at-the-mouth haters makes a pretty unstable "party".

Having come close to winning the Democratic nomination in 2016, the Vermont socialist should get the scrutiny he dodged last time. (Snip)Mr. Sanders has already had to apologize to women who worked for his campaign in 2016 and say they were harassed by male staffers. He can also expect more scrutiny for the dealings of his wife, Jane O’Meara Sanders, who has been his congressional chief of staff and remains among his most trusted advisers. Her tenure

For the last two years, millions of Americans have come to view Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as a kind of national insurance policy. This assessment is now in need of revision. Rosenstein is the guy who appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate whether Russia tried to interfere in the 2016 election a week after President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. As the president rages on Twitter, Rosenstein is seen as the avatar of what one anonymous administration called the “steady state” — the resistance to Trump from within.

It was 1982 and he was on a retreat with his classmates from St. Lawrence, a Roman Catholic seminary for teenage boys training to become priests. Leaders asked each boy to rank which he would rather be: burned over 90 percent of his body, paraplegic, or gay. Each chose to be scorched or paralyzed. Not one uttered the word “gay.” They called the game the Game of Life. The lesson stuck. Seven years later, he climbed up into his seminary

The Green New Deal that Democrats unveiled last week has a grand ambition to eliminate fossil fuels in 10 years, retrofit every building in America, and guarantee high-paying jobs in the bargain. If you want to see how that works in the real world, consider the public housing projects near Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s New York office. The New York City Housing Authority (Nycha) has a more modest goal of a 30% reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions by 2027.
