Walmart is revamping its time-off policy
and handing out bonuses to employees
with great attendance

Business Insider, by Aine Cain

Walmart´s paid-time-off policy is getting a major overhaul. Under the new system, employees will get six days of "protected PTO" for emergencies and illnesses every year, according to CNN. Every six months, employees will also accrue a pool of five days to use for unexpected absences. The company´s vacation policy will remain unchanged. "We´re excited to introduce a new hourly attendance policy that rewards our people when they´re here and provides support when they can´t be," a Walmart spokesperson said in a statement to Business Insider.

Comments:
So what do you know, being a dependable worker does pay off. Labor getting paid more - not because of the Government coercing employers to do so, but because of the labor shortage due to better business conditions.

President Trump´s business friendly approach - lower corporate taxes, no Obamacare - for 10 million paid kfor by 100 million, no imminent plans without damage of the next government tax hike/mandate/edict/manifesto, and to top it off, the soon-to-be built WALL to stop MILLIONS of annual illegals depressing wages for LEGAL workers.

Now if Walmart would just sell more Made-In-America products....nirvana...

I am 69, can never retire, and have been working at Walmart for 4 years now. I do not understand this new policy. I seldom call out. I am very happy working there, happier than I have ever been at any other job. It is a physical also a mental challenge. The discount is great, the insurance plans are very good. I wish I was working because I want to but what the heck, I am thankful that I am able to work when so many my age are already dead or unable to work, so blessings come in different packages,

They still have the worst customer service of any big chain store I go into. When it takes longer to check out than it does to find stuff, there is still a major problem with Walmart. In fact, it is that same lack of decent customer service on the important issues that killed Kmart. People do not want to cool their heels in line, waiting to give a store money.

Hundreds of TSA screeners, working without
pay, calling out sick at major airports

Hundreds of Transportation Security Administration officers, who are required to work without paychecks through the partial government shutdown, have called out from work this week from at least four major airports, according to two senior agency officials and three TSA employee union officials. The mass call outs could inevitably mean air travel is less secure, especially as the shutdown enters its second week with no clear end to the political stalemate in sight. "This will definitely affect the flying public who we (are) sworn to protect," Hydrick Thomas, president of the national TSA employee union, told CNN.

Florida, with its plentiful beaches, warm weather, and lack of a state income tax, is the most popular destination for older adults in the U.S. But some who have lived in the Sunshine State for years are moving in the opposite direction. As damaging storms and other effects of climate change have hit Florida particularly hard in the past few years, some older adults living there have become concerned about their safety and their ability to enjoy retirement. So they’re fleeing this otherwise balmy state. About 52,630 people ages 65 and over left Florida in 2017, versus 48,174 in

Boston Beer Co. will release next week “When There Are Nine,” a Belgian Brut IPA dedicated to the jurist and liberal rock star, according to a Thursday report in the Boston Globe. The San Antonio City Council banned Chick-fil-A from San Antonio International Airport over “anti-LGBTQ behavior” as part of a new concession plan for the airport. District 1 City Councilman Roberto Treviño motioned to approve the Food, Beverage and Retail Prime Concession Agreement with Paradies Lagardère for the airport Thursday on condition Chick-fil-A be excluded from the agreement. Treviño asserted Chick-fil-A has a “legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior” and that such a business had no place in the city’s airport. The apparent scoop du jour is that ex-VP Joe Biden is set to announce his bid with his running mate already picked out: former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Suggestions for his VP thus far have been a who’s-who of the current field of competition for the nomination, including Harris and O’Rourke. Abrams possibly becoming The Chosen One is somewhat surprising, because her star has only so recently begun its ascendency — but not too surprising, because of her fierce intellect, warm demeanor and popularity. Stacey Abrams exudes good sense and kindness, delivered with impeccable poise: that’s the impression most

The commandant of the Marines has warned the Pentagon that deployments to the southwest border and funding transfers under the president’s emergency declaration, among other unexpected demands, have posed “unacceptable risk to Marine Corps combat readiness and solvency.” In two internal memos, Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller said the “unplanned/unbudgeted” deployment along the border that President Trump ordered last fall, and shifts of other funds to support border security, had forced him to cancel or reduce planned military training in at least five countries, and delay urgent repairs at bases.(Snip) Neller, a four-star general, said because of the

A few months ago, Colton Haas and I traveled to the once beautiful city of San Francisco, hoping to have a question answered: What happened to San Francisco? (Video) Erica Sandberg, a community advocate and journalist, broke it down for us: "Right now the major issue — people always call it homelessness — but the major issue is drugs." While San Francisco has always battled homelessness and currently has about 7,000 homeless people, the drug issue is exacerbating the problem. The city currently hands out more than 400,000 syringes each month but only 246,000 are returned, leaving 154,000 syringes left

The Washington National Cathedral disputed President Trump´s claim that he had to "approve" the funeral of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). "Washington National Cathedral was honored to host the funeral service for Senator John McCain. All funerals and memorial services at the Cathedral are organized by the family of the deceased; only a state funeral for a former president involves consultation with government officials," a cathedral spokesperson said in a statement to The Hill on Thursday. "No funeral at the Cathedral requires the approval of the president or any other government official," he added.

Barbra Streisand is under fire for comments she made about two men accusing Michael Jackson of sexually assaulting them as children. The legendary singer and actress said that Wade Robson and James Safechuck — whose allegations against the late King of Pop resurfaced in the recent documentary “Leaving Neverland" — “were thrilled to be there” and that what allegedly happened to them “didn’t kill them." Streisand, 76, made the strange comments to British newspaper The Times in a piece out Friday, in which she also said that Jackson’s “sexual needs were his sexual needs.”

Even though we do not yet know exactly what the Mueller Report says, we do now know that no other indictments are in the works. No collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign was found. So, the self-assured and confident predictions by so many on the left that they had seen "cold, hard evidence," and that Mueller would find copious evidence of "collusion" with Russia, was just wishful thinking alone. They all had to know the infamous "dossier" was faked.

Hours after New Zealand announced prohibitions against semiautomatic rifles and shotguns, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) tweeted the U.S. needs to follow the gun ban example. Feinstein tweeted: “In country after country, massacres are followed by sweeping changes to gun laws, as logic would dictate. The United States needs to follow these examples and take action to protect Americans from this deadly public health scourge.” She attached a statement to her tweet wherein she noted: Here at home in America, since the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School, we’ve suffered through at least 227 school shootings that killed 143 and left

What’s in a name? Everything for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The New York Democrat blasted Fox News host Laura Ingraham and her guest for mocking how she pronounced her name and saying she does so because it’s a “Latina thing.” “If by ‘the Latina thing,’ she means I actually do the work instead of just talk about it, then yeah, I’m doing ‘the Latina thing,’” she wrote on her Twitter page late Wednesday. “Unless of course she‘s talking about being multilingual, which we know isn’t a ‘Latina thing.’ It’s a ‘21st century’ thing.” Ocasio-Cortez also said that Fox News’

MSNBC’s top Russiagate conspiracy theorist Rachel Maddow burst into tears on Friday — after the past two years of her reporting was revealed to be nonsense. On Friday, it was revealed that there would be no more indictments from Robert Mueller’s office, sealed or otherwise, which completely contradicts the tall tales that she has been selling her viewers. Barely holding it together, Maddow emotionally explained that she is on a fishing trip in Tennessee and came into a studio — despite having had the day off.
