Families of Sandy Hook shooting victims
win legal victory in lawsuit
against InfoWars, Alex Jones

ABC News, by Aaron Katersky

Original Article

Posted By:danvillebill, 1/11/2019 4:56:41 PM

A judge in Connecticut has granted the families’ discovery requests, allowing them access to, among other things, InfoWars’ internal marketing and financial documents. The judge has scheduled a hearing next week to decide whether to allow the plaintiffs’ attorneys to depose Jones. The families sued Jones and InfoWars for defamation and accused him of perpetuating a “monstrous, unspeakable lie: that the Sandy Hook shooting was staged and that the families who lost loved ones that day are actors who faked their relatives’ deaths.”

This should be interesting. If the court finds the Jones deliberately lied and it costs him, the alphabet networks best take notice.

I detest Alex Jones. It could come down to whether the plaintiffs are public figures. If so then they have to show actual malice on Jones part.

Legal discovery works both ways. Conspiracy theorists, and not just Jones, have contended that there were multiple shooters, and that it is possible that nobody actually died at Sandy Hook, that the incident was a "black op", in order to give the Obama administration the emotional leverage it needed to order a nationwide ban on private ownership of firearms. Check out some of the videos questioning the official story of Sandy Hook on YouTube. Many of these videos are not even connected to Jones. Jone´s attorneys could demand the exhumation of some of the graves of the victims, to see if there are any bodies in the coffins. I hope Jones fights this blatant attempt to take him off the air.

More judicial thuggery.

I could see it if Jones directly and specifically named these individuals as having been active participants in criminal activity, but to call an event in which they may or may not have participated a fake event is surely covered by the First Amendment.

I have a pretty sane friend who believes that the Sandy Hook thing was staged, He points out photos and videos of individuals who were at Sandy Hook, and compares them to images from other horrendous events, and a lot of them sure do look quite a bit alike. And that is not the only thing that makes an open mind go "Hmmm!?" I´m ´agnostic´ about it either way, but the way things are going, I wouldn´t put ANYTHING past the Deep State....

Anyway, if they can go after Alex Jones for questioning events, what is to stop them for taking ANY of us peasants, who post any sort of conspiracy theories to forums, news sites, facebook, twitter etc., to court and demanding our private records etc. and then probably demand our money?

I miss the old U.S. Constitution.

InfoWars is a comedy site. While not as entertaining as The Onion, the satire contained there is often poignant and there is an audience for that kind of thing.
These families feel guilt, and think that money will sooth that wound.
Or, they are just greedy.

#5 - Jones is a 9/11 Truther. Also a Chlorinated Drinking Water Truther, "they´re putting *POISON* in our water!" he screams next to the tanks at the treatment plant.

As for 9/11, he says it was an inside job, that explosives were planted in the buildings and detonated. He still sells a t-shirt emblazoned with this gigantically stupid lie.

I hope these families absolutely ruin him. 26 consecutive 10-year sentences would be about right.

The best narrative art eschews didacticism in favor of subtlety and nuance and moral reflection. The Polish film Cold War, released last year and directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, is no exception. It tells the story, inspired by Pawlikowski´s parents, of Wiktor Warski (Tomasz Kot) and Zula Lichón (Joanna Kulig), whose amour fou burns against the backdrop of postwar Europe. Wiktor´s passion for Zula consumes him. It haunts him for years after he flees Poland, and drives him to return despite the certainty of imprisonment.(snip) The film is a subtle but devastating critique of the socialist phenomenon.

Chief Justice John Roberts is showing a new willingness to side with the U.S. Supreme Court’s liberal wing after the divisive confirmation fight over Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Roberts joined the liberals Wednesday in two rulings that left the conservatives in dissent. Most notably, he cast the deciding vote to order a new look at the mental competence of a death row inmate who says he can’t remember the crimes he committed. The votes add to an unmistakable pattern, offering fresh indications that Roberts is in no hurry to oversee a conservative legal revolution.

Californians brag that their state is the world´s fifth-largest economy. Californians also see their progressive, one-party state as a neo-socialist model for a nation moving hard to the left. But how long will they retain such confidence? André Previn, a celebrated musical polymath, died Thursday morning; he was a composer of Oscar-winning film music, conductor, pianist and music director of major orchestras. His manager, Linda Petrikova, confirmed to NPR that he died at his home in Manhattan. Previn wrote a tune in the 1950s. In the vernacular of the day, he called it "Like Young." His Hollywood friend, the great lyricist Ira Gershwin, was critical. "Don´t you know it should be "As Young?" asked Gershwin. Previn loved that story — from his jazz side. Up until now, most of the back and forth between Washington and Moscow over intermediate-range missile treaties and the development of new strategic weapons has sounded like little more than saber rattling. But recent developments are starting to make the situation seem a bit more dire. According to some military analysts, Russia’s next generation of cruise missiles would be nearly impossible to intercept and could reach their targets so rapidly when fired from submarines that there would be little or no time to respond.
