GOP senator’s bill to withhold pay from Congress
members during gov’t shutdowns catches on

Republican Montana Sen. Steve Daines introduced a bill on the Senate floor Thursday that would withhold the pay of members of Congress during future government shutdowns. Daines’s introduction of the bill, sponsored by Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn, comes hours after Daines announced he sent a letter requesting the secretary of the U.S. Senate withhold his pay during the ongoing partial shutdown of the federal government. “Members of Congress are sent to Washington, D.C., to represent the great people of their state and keep the federal government open, working and funded. So it’s simple.

It may never happen, but it´s a great campaign issue. Republicans be for it and democrats against it! President Trump can remind people that he doesn´t take his salary, and that he even stayed in Washington over Christmas- just in case some democrats got a conscience and wanted to negotiate!

The bill would have more meaning if the bill said forfeit, not withhold pay. With this bill, they still get their pay after the shutdown. They lose nothing.

If they´re going to be paid for the wages the didn´t get (they weren´t lost) during the shutdown, then they should report for work knowing they will be paid. If they´re pulling sick-outs and not working, then there should be no pay. Most government employees would never make it in the private sector.

I poster this once before, on another thread.

They should wait for a government shutdown. The most important duty of the House of Representative´s duties is to pass spending bills to fund the budget. They know every year the exact date that the new fiscal year starts, and they should get off their high horses and pass the bills before the fiscal year begins.

If our House can´t vote on funding bills by 3 days before the fiscal year changes and the Senate can´t count a vote on that within 3 days, they should have their own pay held until they put it in gear and do their job!!

A handful of leading Democrat donors recently told former Vice President Joe Biden that they would not raise early-stage campaign funds for him if he were to run for president in 2020, according to a report. According to CNBC, several donors declined Biden’s request to bundle campaign contributions due to their skepticism regarding whether the 76-year-old establishmentarian could survive a bruising Democrat primary. CNBC reports: Biden, who has yet to announce whether he will run, has reached out to leading financiers over the past week to see whether they will help him raise money for a presidential run.

The parents, believing their child´s autism played a role in the declaration of gender confusion, refused to cooperate with the “transition,” particularly since the blockers
