Financial Times’ Agenda Pulls Quotes From
‘Les Moonves’ Interview He Denied Ever Happened

The Wrap, by Jon Levine

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 1/11/2019 7:12:31 AM

The Financial Times’ corporate news service Agenda has pulled quotes from an interview that it said its reporters had with former CBS CEO Les Moonves — an interview the disgraced mogul vehemently denied he ever had with the outlet. In a lengthy editor’s note added Thursday to an updated version of the Dec. 18 story, Agenda said it stood by its reporters, Stephanie Forshee and Jennifer Williams-Alvarez, but had decided to yank all the quotes from the disputed interview anyway.

Somebody´s lying.

Either the reporters are making it up and Les is a victim of FAKE news - OR - Les is lying about the interview and FT pulling the quotes is a sign that the reporters better have audio or video tape of the interview.

I wonder if they understand they are now the victim of FAKE news. Thank President Trump for ´outing´ bad journalism.

Michael Bloomberg will not run for president in 2020, the billionaire businessman wrote in a statement posted online on Tuesday, ending months of speculation about the political future of one of the Democratic Party’s top donors. Bloomberg, a former mayor of New York, had been toying with the idea of a presidential run for months and was floated as a candidate in every presidential cycle going back to 2008. As recently as the past two months, aides to Bloomberg had been interviewing potential staffers in Iowa and New Hampshire, early contests in the Democratic primary.

Roger Stone has more explaining to do. In a brief court order Friday, the judge overseeing Stone’s criminal case asked lawyers for the longtime adviser to President Donald Trump why she wasn’t told about the “imminent general release” of a book Stone appears to be involved with. Just eight days ago, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson reprimanded Stone for violating a gag order and threatened to jail him if he continued to talk to the media. Stone must explain by March 4 “why this matter -- which was known to the

What happens when the “believe-all-women” ethos collides with the urge to believe some men, particularly if those men are your loved ones? Perhaps a much needed return to respecting due process. A few days ago, Lisa Borders, the CEO of Time’s Up, a group affiliated with the #MeToo movement to fight for victims of sexual harassment and abuse, resigned from her position. The reason was startling. Her son, Garry “Dijon” Bowden Jr., had been accused of groping a woman

As the 2020 election nears, there is as yet no coherent Democratic response to the Trump agenda. If Trump himself is unpopular and polarizing, his agenda is for the most part in sync with a majority of Americans who like the 3% annualized GDP growth; near-record peacetime unemployment; record natural gas and oil production; young, scholarly and constructionist justices; pro-Israel Mideast politics; and realism about NATO laxity, the flawed Iran Deal, and the Paris Climate Accord, Chinese mercantilism, and the past inability of the U.S. to translate battlefield victories abroad into lasting security and strategic advantages.

Her narcissistic, defensive tweeting is tedious. And yet, the media keeps obliging her with photo ops, social media clips, and endless sound bites. They cannot look away,

There are two diametrically opposed lines of thinking about Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller´s investigation. The first is that he is winding down his probe and is unlikely to allege that the Trump campaign and Russia conspired to fix the 2016 presidential election. The second is that he is still going strong, with the biggest charges, perhaps including the fabled collusion allegation, yet to come. Which is correct? No one outside the Mueller office knows. There are data points, or at least tea leaves, pointing in all directions.

There are new revelations about what took place in Washington during the extraordinary period from May 9, 2017, when President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, to May 17, 2017 when Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller was appointed. The short version is: The reports were true. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein really did discuss wearing a wire to secretly record the president. Rosenstein and others did discuss invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office. And the FBI did adopt an aggressive new investigation strategy, targeting the president himself, almost instantly after the Comey firing.

On Wednesday, May 10, 2017, my first full day on the job as acting director of the FBI, I sat down with senior staff involved in the Russia case—the investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. As the meeting began, my secretary relayed a message that the White House was calling. The president himself was on the line. I had spoken with him the night before, in the Oval Office, when he told me he had fired James Comey. A call like this was highly unusual. Presidents do not, typically, call FBI directors.

New York City Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr. is in major trouble. In fact, he may be expelled from the NYC Council. What exactly did Councilman Diaz do? Did he assault someone, commit larceny or voter fraud? Not exactly. He said the following, which is in a sense being treated worse than the above crimes: “The City Council is controlled by the homosexual community.” Diaz also stated that openly-gay council speaker Corey Johnson is married to a man. In response, Johnson demanded that Diaz apologize for his “homophobic” remarks, which “have no place in New York City.”

House Democratic leaders are struggling to contain the controversy over Rep. Ilhan Omar´s comments about Israel, with the caucus fighting behind closed doors over whether — and how — to respond. Freshman Rep. Jahana Hayes of Connecticut stood up and confronted Pelosi directly, arguing that she shouldn’t have to learn about the official Democratic Caucus response from MSNBC. Hayes

Fifty years ago, the United States was facing crises and unrest on multiple fronts. Some predicted that internal chaos and revolution would unravel the nation. The 1969 Vietnam War protests on the UC-Berkeley campus turned so violent that National Guard helicopters indiscriminately sprayed tear gas on student demonstrators. Later that year, hundreds of thousands of people filled the streets of major cities as part of the “Moratorium to the End the War in Vietnam.” In Washington, D.C., about a half-million protesters marched to the White House. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) over her latest antisemitic outburst, arguing that her experience of fleeing violence in Somalia is “more personal” than Jews whose parents survived the Holocaust. In an interview with the Hill, Clyburn criticized reports omitting mention of Omar escaping Somalia and spending four years in a Kenyan refugee camp before immigrating to the U.S.
