Financial Times’ Agenda Pulls Quotes From
‘Les Moonves’ Interview He Denied Ever Happened

The Wrap, by Jon Levine

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 1/11/2019 7:12:31 AM

The Financial Times’ corporate news service Agenda has pulled quotes from an interview that it said its reporters had with former CBS CEO Les Moonves — an interview the disgraced mogul vehemently denied he ever had with the outlet. In a lengthy editor’s note added Thursday to an updated version of the Dec. 18 story, Agenda said it stood by its reporters, Stephanie Forshee and Jennifer Williams-Alvarez, but had decided to yank all the quotes from the disputed interview anyway.

Somebody´s lying.

Either the reporters are making it up and Les is a victim of FAKE news - OR - Les is lying about the interview and FT pulling the quotes is a sign that the reporters better have audio or video tape of the interview.

I wonder if they understand they are now the victim of FAKE news. Thank President Trump for ´outing´ bad journalism.

The front page of the London Daily Mirror undoubtedly had it wrong when it ran a front page on Wednesday with a full-length photo of Prime Minister May with the bold headlines covering the rest of the page: “No Hope No Clue No Deal No Confidence.” A Guardian editorialist got somewhat carried away, as the Guardian almost always does in its lobotomous socialist biases, when he traced the present impasse back to Henry VIII’s apostasy

Members of the Sackler family, which owns the company that makes OxyContin, directed years of efforts to mislead doctors and patients about the dangers of the powerful opioid painkiller, a court filing citing previously undisclosed documents contends. When evidence of growing abuse of the drug became clear in the early 2000s, one of them, Richard Sackler, advised pushing blame onto people who had become addicted. “We have to hammer on abusers in every way possible,” Mr. Sackler wrote in an email in 2001, when he was president of the company, Purdue Pharma. “They are the culprits and the problem.

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that former national security adviser Susan Rice and former deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes must answer written questions about the State Department´s response to the deadly 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya, as part of an ongoing legal battle over whether Hillary Clinton sought to deliberately evade public record laws by using a private email server while secretary of state. U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth denied a request by the conservative group Judicial Watch to make Rice and Rhodes sit for depositions, but agreed to have them answer written questions.

For months now, the Department of Justice (DOJ) quietly has been working on a revision to its guidelines governing how, when and why prosecutors can obtain the records of journalists, particularly in leak cases. The work has been supervised by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s office, especially since former Attorney General Jeff Sessions departed, but is not wrapped up. The effort has the potential to touch off a First Amendment debate with a press corps that already has high degrees of distrust of and disfunction with the Trump administration.

Legendary journalist Carl Bernstein has said that he’s been told that special counsel Robert Mueller’s report will show how President Donald Trump helped Russia “destabilize the United States.” Bernstein, who is renowned for his coverage of the Watergate scandal that led to the resignation of former President Richard Nixon, appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources on Sunday to discuss two bombshell reports released this weekend, one from The New York Times and one from The Washington Post, which revealed new details about whether or not Trump and his aides have colluded with Russia.

Six months ago, with the 2020 Presidential race barely within view, Elizabeth Warren mentioned a new political theme on which she intended to concentrate. Opposing corruption, she told a reporter, “is becoming a much more defining part of my work.” Corruption has a common-sense definition, one that is quite stark: “The seizure of governmental authority by special interests at the expense of the general welfare,” as Richard L. McCormick, a historian of political corruption in America and a former president of Rutgers University, put it to me this week.

Wisconsin police are providing an update on Jayme Closs who was found alive Thursday after a three month disappearance. Closs vanished Oct. 15 after her parents -- James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46, -- were gunned down inside their home in Barron County, located about 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis. Officials determined Closs was inside the home when her parents were murdered, but then the trail went cold. Closs was eventually placed on the top of the FBI’s kidnapping and missing persons list and, while details were scarce, authorities continued to suggest Closs was alive.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is already making enemies in the House Democratic Caucus — and some of its members are mounting an operation to bring the anti-establishment, democratic socialist with 2.2 million Twitter followers into the fold. The effort, described by nearly 20 lawmakers and aides, is part carrot, part stick: Some lawmakers with ties to Ocasio-Cortez are hoping to coax her into using her star power to unite Democrats and turn her fire on Republicans. Others simultaneously warn Ocasio-Cortez is destined for a lonely, ineffectual career in Congress if she continues to treat her own party as the enemy.

While Warren, Harris, Booker, and Biden are bruited as potential Democratic candidates in 2020, there may be a surprise candidate being groomed right now. Barack Obama´s trajectory from the Illinois state Senate to the Oval Office in four years is instructive. In March of 2000, Obama was a state senator in Illinois, a post he had since 1996 with virtually no political recognition. What he did have is a sterling résumé: an eight-year scholarship to Occidental College, a transfer into Columbia University, a post-college job as a "community organizer,"

Nancy Pelosi doubled down on those claims when confronted by reporters. “We had the prerogative to travel commercially, and we made plans to do that, until the administration then leaked that we were traveling commercially,” Pelosi told a gaggle of reporters. Gillette is doubling down on a controversial new campaign that appears aimed at taking on so-called toxic masculinity — but has created a social media firestorm. The two-minute video from Boston-based razor brand Gillette urges men to act against sexual harassment, misogyny and bullying, asking: “Is this the best a man can get?” While fans are applauding the move, critics say it assumes men need to be steered away from negative tendencies. The ad starts off with audio of news about the #MeToo movement, saying, “We can’t hide from it. It has been going on far too long. We

The federal government shutdown has presented a unique opportunity for President Donald Trump to clear out the deadwood in the federal bureaucracy, saving U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars in salaries, perks, and rented office space for people who aren´t doing anything productive. At the same time, Trump can get rid of dozens, possibly even hundreds of Deep State operatives in the government, handpicked by Barack Obama and Bill Clinton for their loyalty to the Democratic Party, not their country or the law. These people leak like a screen door in a submarine, mainly to CNN and MSNBC, the twin headquarters

In the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll released Thursday, President Donald Trump may have suffered some among Republicans overall, but he saw a huge point gain in a different demographic breakdown, and an unexpected one by conventional wisdom. In early December, the poll had Trump’s approval rating among Latino adults at 31%. The results from the poll released Thursday show the president’s job approval among Latino adults at 50%. That is an astonishing 19 point swing. Prior results had less variance, with Latino approval numbers at 36% in their November 1st findings. It was 27% in the pollster’s mid-October survey.
