McConnell Blocked the Senate
From Voting on a Spending Bill
Without Wall Funding

Fortune, by Renae Reints

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked a vote on Democrat spending bills that would reopen parts of the government without a border wall, referring to the legislation as “political stunts.” “The last thing we need to do right now is trade pointless—absolutely pointless—show votes back and forth across the aisle,” McConnell said on the floor Thursday, according to CNN. “The political stunts are not going to get us anywhere.”

Well good for old Mitch! Every once in a while –– never often enough –– he grows a pair and does something helpful to the Conservative Agenda.

Most of the time, however, he and that disgusting Paul Ryan have stood in President Trump´s way, and refused to do anything to further the president´s [always worthy] aims and ambitions.

McConnell´s steadfast refusal to implement the so-called Nuclear Option to make it possible for a simple senate majority to pass vitally important legislation has caused many of us on the side of the angels to regard the senate leader with suspicion and no small measure of resentment.

McConnell is a sly old fox and a past master of Political Gamesmanship –– subtly reminiscent of the Serpent in the Garden of Eden . Therefore, his motives are always suspect.

Even when McConnell does the right thing, one can´t but wonder if i weren´t for the wrong reasons.

We need a BETTER, more FORTHRIGHT, more openly COMBATIVE individual to lead the GOP if we ever hope to humble and defeat the DefecRats.

I guffaw when Chuckie says that McConnell should "intervene" to reopen the government. The dems are so used to Republican capitulation that they think it is the way things should be.

Unfortunately, a lot of Republicans do also.

McConnell is pretty shrewd. The dems have nothing going for them except a publicity show. Everyone expects the House to pass bills that lack funding for the wall. A Senate battle would be a sycophant media circus. It would also create a platform for some wobbly Republicans to speak against Trump. It would be like the Kavanaugh hearings.

McConnell has cut off the oxygen to the publicity flame. Nancy and Chuckie made fools of themselves on national TV and that is the image they are stuck with. McConnell labels the dem actions as political stunts, which is accurate and the only things the dems can do.

Funny how Yertle Turkey Neck mentions ´show votes´--

When the NobamaCare legislation was passed on Christmas Eve 2010 and never received A SINGLE REPUBLICAN VOTE as the demonrats were about to lose control of the House and Senate after the election, there were MANY "show votes" and campaign promises made by the newly elected republican party in the House....

We were told in EVERY election in 2012, 2014, 2016 that IF WE ONLY VOTED REPUBLICAN this socialized medicine precursor to "single-payer" government run takeover of healthcare would be rescinded.

Very few campaigned against it in 2018, and NOTHING has completely stopped it. Chief Justice John Roberts claimed it was a "tax" but the bill that was passed originated in the Senate, and the Constitution clearly states that "tax bills´ must originate in the House.

Now the demonrat socialists are screaming about spending so much for NATIONAL SECURITY measures of a wall while the republicans seem to think that big spending is okay while we go hellbent to our economic destruction due to this invasion that keeps getting worse and worse the more the illegals come in....

Rather than SOLVE problems, both parties only want to block what the other is doing. Compromise does not always mean giving in to the other side, but when the other side is full-on SOCIALIST, the "middle" is way over on the left side!

Perhaps PDT gave McConnel a pair of cojones.

He is now doing what Harry Reid did for the entire time he was senate majority leader - dump every bill from the opposition-led house into the circular file. You know what they say about payback....

He´s as useless as McCarthy was and still is.

Perhaps it´s time for us to start buying our yellow vests to visually tell Mitch to grow a real pair rather than borrow them from the President on special occasions.

How will Constituents know if their senator is representing what the voters of that State sent "it" there to do, if they are not allowed to vote? Whether it´s what we want or not, it doesn´t seem very American to let one person decide what laws go to the President to sign or veto.

Key Findings Coming on Mueller
Report — But Not Quite Yet

WASHINGTON — Attorney General William Barr spent Saturday reviewing the special counsel’s confidential report on the Trump-Russia investigation, but Barr’s “principal conclusions” summary for Congress was not coming for at least another day. No summary for Judiciary Committee leaders — or the public — just yet, said a senior Justice Department official, speaking only on condition of anonymity because the person wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss the review process. Barr has said he expected to send his version to the lawmakers as soon as this weekend after determining what should be made public.
