Ginsburg misses third consecutive
day at Supreme Court

The Hill, by Lydia Wheeler

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 1/10/2019 11:12:47 AM

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was absent from the bench for a third straight day on Wednesday. Chief Justice John Roberts said Ginsburg was unable to be present for arguments but would participate in deciding Wednesday’s case via briefs and transcripts of oral arguments. The 85-year-old justice is working from home after undergoing surgery on Dec. 21 to remove two cancerous nodules from her left lung. Roberts did not say whether Ginsburg would be back on the bench next week.

Dems so desperately want her to live until one of them is in the WH to appoint her replacement, would they try a Weekend At Bernie´s stunt if she expires before that?

So, if the Supreme Court justice doesn´t have to actually be present to hear oral arguments, then why do any of them have to be anywhere near the DC courtroom?

It seems they are wanting to make it to the end of this cycle for the Supreme Court even if she it too ill to participate. The delay will ensure her vote or limit the court to 4-4 decisions for this session. Like McCain, stay in office even if you can´t participate blocking replacements.

Having known someone who died from lung cancer (although this was a while ago, and treatments are vastly more effective), this is a nasty way to go.

I´m thinking the ongoing silence is so that the "retirement" can be handled under their control.

The Left will totally freak out when she passes on to meet THE Judge, the real one, the Ultimate One...

In the meantime, among all the anti-Trumpers, the tempo is picking up to nullify the Trump election. EVERYTHING is being engineered to oust President Trump.

Thus far, only a few Democrats value the Constitutional order. The Judicial Branch is corrupted, at least i feel it can not be trusted. Activist courts are far too easily involved by request of Dem operatives.

Once the Ginsburg thread is pulled, the whole pink-hatted "nasty woman" brigade will go stark raving mad.

She´s 85 and had her rib cage ratcheted apart to take out part of a lung......I´m sure that´s an out-patient procedure according to the insurance industry, but to everyone else, it´s a major surgical procedure with a long recuperative period. She may be a superwoman to her fans, but she´s just a tired old woman who is well past her shelf date.
If I were Trump, I´d be interviewing her replacements just to be ready for the inevitable.

In my opinion, (which I continue to value) oral arguments before the SC are meaningless. The case has been briefed to death, the justices have read the briefs, and Breyer can blather on and on, along with the wise latina, much like Souter did.
Clarence Thomas understands the process. He remains silent.

BS. She is not working at all. She´s sleeping.

Now, that being the case, her law clerks are working- building up what ver nonsensical crap they can about pending cases. They will write her briefs, her position, her obvious opposition to anything the conservative Judges come up with- and toss in a few "Lib-bombs" to boot. She will, of couirse, be awakened long enough to mark her "X" above any signature line they point out to her and that is how it really works.

When does she have time for all that between her "rigorous workouts" though?

I don’t believe for a nanosecond that she’s reading briefs and transcripts. Her staff is doing that for her while she lies in a post-op narcotic haze.

I watched my mother in law die of lung cancer and she spent the last 10 days or so in a coma. Before that she was in la-la land due to massive doses of IV morphine.

She´s dodged a lot of bullets so far--who else has recovered from pancreatic cancer? Maybe her luck has run out. If so, she has only herself to blame for giving Trump the right to name her replacement. She could have retired during the O administration. Retired SC justices can still work, hearing cases on the Circuit Courts, etc. So she really has no excuse.

sorry to post again, but #20, what do you mean his (Roberts´) marriage is a joke? Because his kids (a boy and a girl) are adopted? Whoa, seriously? Roberts is a little too political for my taste but he is not the demon or traitor some seem to think he is. He voted against gay marriage and his ruling on Obamacare--that Congress can´t make people buy insurance under the Commerce Clause--may be Obamacare´s undoing in the end now that the penalty--ie, the tax-- for non-compliance had been repealed. A Texas judge has already so held.

What we know about lung cancer from articles on Ginsburg:

It can be primary or it can be secondary - due to metastasis from another site - in which it would be colon cancer or pancreatic cancer that metastasized to her lung. The fact that she had two nodules gave rise to this possibility.

Primary lung cancer can be cured depending upon what type it is, the stage, where it is located in the lung, whether it can be surgically excised. There are a number of factors and we do not have enough information to be armchair doctors (or medical examiners).

She is 85. She has had two serious cancers. She has looked pretty awful for some time now and she is no Stephen Hawking. I don’t give her long even if it isn’t this cancer that takes her.

How about some TRANSPARENCY instead of a blackout. We deserve to know if she will be able to return to the court and , if so, when,if known. If a ballplayer misses a game, the reason and the length of time he will be out is made public. Are we supposed to expect LESS from the Supreme Court ? Is everything a secret ? kept from the people this Court represents. If RBG will be out for an indefinite period then just state so publicly. If she actually passed away would they keep it a secret until Trump is out of office ? if it is time to retire, then she should just retire. She should have done so when Obama was in office and that would have served the Left far better.

The only Constitutional way she can be removed from the Supreme Court is through the impeachment process that starts in the House of Representatives. Now can you see Nancy Pelosi going along with that?

The best way to go about this is to sit back and wait for Father Time to issue his ultimate decision.

Oh, boy. The look on Representative Adam Schiff’s face was priceless as the California Democrat disembarked the Air Force bus on Thursday. A few days ago, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sent a letter to the White House, practically disinviting the president of the United States from giving his State of the Union Address on January 29. She cited security concerns and suggested that the president reschedule his address for a time after the government shutdown. But everyone knew that her explanation was absolute nonsense.

It’s a good thing President Trump canceled the Democrats’ overseas excursion this weekend because Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has some work to do here at home. For starters, he needs to take a red pen to his memo that defended the deceptive tactics used by the FBI to obtain a FISA warrant on Trump campaign aide Carter Page days before the 2016 presidential election. The new chairman of the House Intelligence Committee authored a memo dated January 28, 2018, ironically titled, “Correcting the Record—The Russia Investigation.” But it is Schiff who needs to correct his own record in

We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay,

And… That Ginsburg will retire in January. The Santa Monica Observer reported: As any reader of the Santa Monica Observer knew last September, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed lung cancer. A University of Georgia teaching assistant who routinely attacks the concept of “whiteness” on social media took it a step further Wednesday when he declared that “some white people may have to die” in order for black people to advance. “Some white people may have to die for black communities to be made whole in this struggle to advance to freedom,” UGA philosophy TA and Ph.D. student Irami Osei-Frimpong wrote in a now-deleted comment on the Overheard at UGA Facebook page, Campus Reform reported. Mr. Osei-Frimpong doubled down on the comment Friday morning on his own Facebook page

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) looked defeated Friday afternoon when reporters confronted her over her outrageous claims Trump endangered her life by cancelling her military flight then allegedly leaked her commercial travel plans. Earlier Friday morning, Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill accused President Trump of endangering Pelosi’s life by leaking her commercial travel plans. Nancy Pelosi doubled down on those claims when confronted by reporters. “We had the prerogative to travel commercially, and we made plans to do that, until the administration then leaked that we were traveling commercially,” Pelosi told a gaggle of reporters. Gillette is doubling down on a controversial new campaign that appears aimed at taking on so-called toxic masculinity — but has created a social media firestorm. The two-minute video from Boston-based razor brand Gillette urges men to act against sexual harassment, misogyny and bullying, asking: “Is this the best a man can get?” While fans are applauding the move, critics say it assumes men need to be steered away from negative tendencies. The ad starts off with audio of news about the #MeToo movement, saying, “We can’t hide from it. It has been going on far too long. We

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews joined the chorus of pundits losing their minds over President Donald Trump cancelling Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Afghanistan — but admitted that the president made the Democrats “look like fools.” President Trump had hilariously cancelled the trip as the Democrats were in a bus on their way to the flight. (Photo) “Let’s talk about the cheap shot part of it. They were in the bus heading to Joint Base Edward — Andrews. He made them look like fools sitting in the capitol at the driveway basically trying to figure out what’s coming next. He caught them in

The federal government shutdown has presented a unique opportunity for President Donald Trump to clear out the deadwood in the federal bureaucracy, saving U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars in salaries, perks, and rented office space for people who aren´t doing anything productive. At the same time, Trump can get rid of dozens, possibly even hundreds of Deep State operatives in the government, handpicked by Barack Obama and Bill Clinton for their loyalty to the Democratic Party, not their country or the law. These people leak like a screen door in a submarine, mainly to CNN and MSNBC, the twin headquarters

Deep State: We´ve been saying for some time now that the entire investigation of Donald Trump for "colluding" with the Russians smelled like Deep State sabotage. Now, former associate Attorney General Bruce Ohr has confirmed that´s true. If so, these are criminal acts. The only question is, what do we do now? Both the Justice Department and FBI have maintained they didn´t really know that Trump Dossier compiler Christopher Steele had any bias at all against Trump. And, even when they got their hands on Steele´s unverified dossier on Trump, they claim they didn´t know that S

Vox dubbed her “the most buzzed-about first-term member of the House of Representatives,” and The Atlantic credited her with an “unusually transparent approach to public relations.” She’s a former Bernie Sanders campaign volunteer and a self-styled democratic socialist. Despite all the fanfare, her recent “60 Minutes” interview with Anderson Cooper shined a bright spotlight on a painful fact: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will make it harder for young women in politics to be taken seriously in the future. In mere minutes, Ocasio-Cortez managed to affirm nearly every negative stereotype about the female sex,
