City Council bill would require chains

New York Post, by Yoav Gonen

Fast-food fans are going to have to slow down to read all the warning labels on the menu if legislation introduced Wednesday in the City Council becomes law. A bill authored by Councilmember Mark Levine would require chain restaurants to post warning notices next to each food item that contains more than 12 grams of added sugar. That’s in addition to the postings already on the books for high sodium content and calorie counts. “No city has done this yet, but New York is backsliding in the fight against obesity and diabetes, and helping people improve their diet

Comments:
Just when you think lawmakers aren´t doing their job, they come out with this.
Here´s an idea for them: require warnings on guns that they can cause harm or death.

There needs to be a warning on the doors of most all city councils.

This is the usual do nothing BS we have come to expect from goobernment. As if signs and postings will change one´s hunger. IF liberals had their way, to be healthy, nobody (except of course good liberals) would ever eat a morsel of food untilled they died. Two liberal goals would be met. One, control other people´s lives and two eliminate their lives in the name of saving the planet. One wonders how the human race survived before liberals ame along and told us how to live.

I have yet to see anyone other than myself read the labels on food in the supermarkets I frequent and that includes restaurants like McD that post their calorie count on their boards.

When it comes to sugar, the more the better for me. I crave sugar and my blood sugar runs low so while it may make me fat it doesn´t give me any ailments as most seem to believe is a given. All people are not alike in the way they process food.

In Cuomo/De Blasio country, their voters assume that government simply MUST be involved in every facet of human life. Remember Obama´s "Julia" character where government insinuated itself into her life, from cradle to grave? Liberals say, "it´s for your own GOOD."
Portland, Seattle, Frisco, Denver, LA? The story´s much the same. City Councils used to perform some important functions. Now their most important functions
involve interfering in your life because "They simply KNOW what´s best for YOU."

Judge orders Trump admin to

New York Post, by Post Wire Services    Original Article

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to reunite more families that were separated at the border. US District Judge Dana Sabraw ruled the government must bring parents and children who were separated as early as July 1, 2017 back together, in an updated ruling on a lawsuit brought by the ACLU. Previously, he ruled that about 2,700 children in government custody as of June 26, 2018, the date of his initial decision in the case, should be reunited with their parents. The new order could apply to thousands more children, but first the separated families must be identified.

An unconventional coffee shop in California is finding itself at the center of controversy — yet again — as a result of its servers’ skimpy styles. At a meeting on Tuesday, city council members in American Canyon voted unanimously to revoke a license granted to Bottoms Up Espresso, after critics argued that the “bikini barista” coffee shop was operating more like an adult business than a café. The coffee shop, which has multiple locations in the Bay Area, originally secured its American Canyon location in December, SF Gate reported.

House Democrats confronted Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other party leaders on Wednesday, accusing them in a closed-door meeting of rushing a resolution that would indirectly rebuke Rep. Ilhan Omar for her comments about Israel. The bickering broke out at a Democratic caucus meeting in which some Democrats faulted Pelosi for failing to handle the controversy and for not keeping lawmakers in the loop. Rep. Jahana Hayes of Connecticut was among those pressing Pelosi about why they weren’t consulted about the response to Omar before hearing what would happen on cable TV.

Anyone who isn’t a socialist at 20 has no heart, but anyone who isn’t a conservative by 40 has no brain: That old epigram is certainly playing out in today’s Democratic Party. Millennials — ignorant of socialism’s appalling economic and human-rights history — increasingly embrace socialism and its naively unrealistic prescriptions for ending all human want. Yet so are a growing number of veteran Democratic pols who should know better, but are clearly terrified by the growing star power of the likes of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Brooklyn cops bust pistol-

Eight months after authorities announced they would stop making turnstile arrests in the city’s subways to free up cops for more serious crimes, two Brooklyn officers took down a fleeing fare-beater — and it turns out he was packing a pistol, police said Tuesday. The NYPD — which downgraded the quality-of-life offense in August amid heat from civil rights groups griping that blacks and Hispanics were disproportionately targeted by it — tweeted that two cops from the department’s Transit Division made the good bust early Monday. The cops had pursued Tyrone Gooding, 35, because he jumped a turnstile

Fifty years ago this month, on Feb. 9, 1969, the Boeing 747 was officially introduced to the world. But as the wide-bodied jumbo jet taxied down the runway for its inaugural flight from Paine Field, just north of Seattle, not everybody in the crowd was convinced it would be a success. The plane, which would soon be dubbed “Queen of the Skies,” was big — maybe too big. At twice the size of the Boeing 707, it was by far the largest civilian passenger jet ever conceived: 231 feet long with a 196-foot wingspan

The twisted case of Jussie Smollett is depressing, infuriating — and should end with the maximum prison sentence. But I predict he’ll skate. The reprehensible alleged actions of the gay, black fabulist who cried “MAGA” will be forgiven, excused and ultimately encouraged by sympathetic progressives — deemed justifiable Trumpicide. And it will happen again. And again. Smollett, who claimed he was attacked outdoors by a pair of racist, homophobic white Trumpsters on a frigid Jan. 29 in Chicago, transformed Wednesday from the purported target of a vicious hate crime to a lying, alleged felonious hoaxster.

History, it seems, has come full circle. A little more than two years after Donald Trump rocked the Republican establishment and shocked the world with the electoral upset of the century, a motley crew of Democrats is jockeying to unseat Number 45. And just as Trump was forced to fight an organized resistance from within Republican ranks, the 2020 Democratic nominee will likewise encounter a measure of mutiny. The Never Trump movement shattered party unity and forced an exodus of Republican elites, reshaping the GOP into an entirely new animal. And the Democrats’ factionalism, divided among establishment holdouts,

When Democrats lost to a non-politician in 2016, they could not swallow the failure and began to degrade their opponent´s victory (by manufacturing "Russia collusion"), insult people who voted for the winner (calling them racist), and assassinate the character of the winner (calling him a dictator).
