Minimum Wage Hikes In 2019 Will Hurt Minority
Youth By Killing Jobs — Crappy New Year!

Investor´s Business Daily, by Staff

Minimum Wage: New York City is one of a number of locales that increased its minimum wage to $15 an hour in the New Year. Already, early reports say, small businesses are struggling. Expect this to become a common refrain across the country. With the celebratory ringing in of the New Year, some 21 states, the nation´s capital and a growing number of cities across the country will impose a distinctly non-celebratory cost on their small businesses: A mandatory increase in the minimum wage. Of course, some of the minimum wage hikes won´t be much. But some will.

Raising the minimum wage helps skilled workers at the expense of the unskilled.
A skilled worker receives a multiple of what an unskilled worker does. In the skilled trades, an entry level person rarely makes a company any money, they take the loss in order to create a pool of trained workers.
Increasing that loss reduces the number of trained workers, increasing their demand and what they can command in pay.
The method I used to gain an apprenticeship was, and is, illegal, I took a job working for nothing. I had been paying for school, so this actually was a better deal and I had proposed it to get in the door. Within a week I was a full time paid employee and getting trained.

There is no such thing as a minimum wage hike. It remains as it has always been, zip, zero nada nuttin a big fat goose egg.

Wait let me check my math.....yup 0.

Attempts to uverule the minimum wage reality will only result in more people attaining the real minimum.

Congratulations way to look out for the little guy.

And if that wasn´t enough, the goods and services which will no longer exist because they are too expensive for someone to provide and be better off doing it, are consumed in greater proportion by, yup, the little guy who in now on minimum wage.

Not only that, but did the citizens of these states actually cede power to the state government in their constitution to set wages or is this power the state just seized illegally and unconstitutionally? Something for them to think about.

Will mean more empty retail space, more self out check lines, far fewer knowledgeable sales people and more business for Amazon and UPS. Will also mean more illegals employed at car washes, garages, lawn mowing, landscaping, construction jobs and more. And higher costs for what we purchase. And fewer summer jobs for students.

But who cares about the consequences when our governors and mayors can take credit for a $15 per hour minimum.

This then goes into the “be careful what you wish for” file.

We have great young kids working at our local In-N-Out burger place, which is jammed and lined up nearly 24 hours a day. They are still kids. This is an “entry level job” at best. There are many “entry level jobs” that kids used to fill on weekends and school holidays that will no longer be affordable for the companies, so no longer available.

And then there are the offices where one could get a foot in the door if one looked presentable, had reasonable brain power and could type.

Companies do what they have to do. They are in business to be profitable, not to run commercial welfare agencies. Someday the politicians may have to think about this. Maybe.

Every time there is a minimum wage debate, the non mentally ill experts warn of recession, business closures, higher unemployment and the concomitant drug use and crime. Yet, you would never know the crash of 2008 was preceded by the Federal Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007.

Conclusion: The mentally ill are still in control.

Minority teens will be hurt most, according to the article; yet, they are the most vociferous about raising the minimum wage, acting on all the socialist philosophy they are fed in schools.

Maybe it´s a great thing: let it fall by its own weight. They haven´t learned from what has happened in places where minimum wages were imposed, then rescinded when the jobs went south. That´s usually the only way brainwashed youth learn.

The truth of this is that the strong majority of people making minimum wage are going to actually end up making LESS money now that the minimum wage has increased.

The types of companies that pay minimum wage tend to have very tight margins. You drastically increase wages paid to the employees, the company will end up loosing money. No company can survive very long that way. So they will cut hours, and expect fewer employees to work harder for their "$3 hourly raise in pay".

If you used to work 20 hours a week at $12 an hour, you made $240 a week. If you get cut back to 12 hours at $15 an hour, you are suddenly only making $180 a week. And that is DEFINITELY going to hurt young uneducated minority workers the most!!!!!!

But I´m sorry, that was LOGICAL!!! And the idiot LIE-berals who pass these minimum wage hikes just can´t comprehend logic!!! They only understand FEELINGS, and raising the minimum wage just FEELS like a good thing to do.

But, hey, all these LIE-beral really want is for these young minorities to give up and join the permanent welfare plantation class -- where they will be Demon-RAT voters for life!!!!!!

Election 2020: When Bernie Sanders announced on Tuesday that he was running for president, the only surprising thing was how much competition he´ll have on the far left. The current crop of 2020 candidates is so liberal, in fact, that it makes the Barack Obama of 2008 look positively right wing. When Obama first ran, he tried to position himself as something of a fiscal moderate. Obama complained about "the orgy of spending" under President George W. Bush. He pledged that all his spending plans were more than offset with spending cuts.

Business Un-Friendly: Amazon´s decision to pull the plug on the New York half of its "HQ2" shows just how inhospitable the state has become to businesses. Even a $3 billion sweetheart deal couldn´t overcome its toxic economic environment. There´s a lesson here. Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been running around claiming credit for Amazon´s decision, calling it a big win for the "people" over "corporate greed." But the "credit," such as it is, doesn´t belong to her social media campaign or the protesters with makeshift signs marching around.

Hidden in President Donald Trump´s State of the Union address last week — and practically uncommented upon — was the seed of a revolutionary political platform. "An amazing quality of life for all of our citizens," the Chief Executive mooted, "is within reach." President Trump defined that "amazing quality of life" in part as making "our middle class more prosperous than ever before." But why stop there? Why not refocus government on making all Americans wealthier — by reversing our culture of wealth redistribution and destruction?

Amid all the hoopla about Democrats wanting to raise taxes on the rich, they are quietly working on a bill that would increase taxes on every working family in America. Why? To fund expanded benefits for baby boomers hitting retirement. The Social Security 2100 Act would hike the combined payroll taxes paid by workers and their employers from 12.4% today to 14.8% by 2043. The bill would also apply the payroll tax on incomes over $400,000. According to the Social Security Administration, in the first 12 years alone, this would amount to a $1.5 trillion tax hike.

Infrastructure: California Gov. Gavin Newsom just pulled the plug on the state´s bullet train boondoggle. President Trump should demand the $3.5 billion the federal government dumped into this black hole back, so he can put it to better use building the border wall. In his State of the State speech, Newsom said he was shelving plans for a high-speed rail line from San Francisco to Los Angeles. A plan plagued with endless delays and massive cost overruns.
