Carlson’s Invisible Political Hand
Riles Conservative Critics

American Greatness, by Julie Kelly

Original Article

In spite of policy differences on social issues—from gay rights to gun control to abortion—the steadying core of modern-day conservatism always has been the defense of the individual over the state. During the Reagan era, the movement witnessed in real time how the disassembling of statist economic policies could resuscitate a fossilized free-market system to the benefit of nearly all Americans. Before Reagan’s election, libertarian economist Milton Friedman warned that our economic freedom is threatened constantly by the capriciousness and self-interest of politicians and their special interest benefactors—and that was not okay: “Both the fragmentation of power and the conflicting government

You beat me to posting this by a few minutes. My comment was:
Ben Shapiro, National Review, and others think we live in a pure capitalist system so there´s no reason for people to fall into despair or even to be jobless. Tucker is doing a great service. He has always believed in the importance of family; he got married young, had four children, and is still married to the same woman -- and he points out how the system today is destroying the family, the foundation of society. He is not anti-capitalism, as his conservative critics claim, but against the special interest, privileged system we have today.

I have no idea how to solve these problems. But the old adage ´Idle hands are the devil´s workshop´ is still true. Men - especially young men - are being deprived of jobs that require building skills and physical exertion. The result is pathological behaviors that undermine society.

I like Tucker. He seems to really enjoy being with his family. He has a great sense of humor and a passion. for the traditional goodness of this nation. He sees right through the self-appointed elites because he was raised amongst them. Hope he´s around for a very long time - wouldn´t it be fun to see him become a young grandfather?!

My favorite part of the article was the sanctimonious comments by the NR staff about what ´they´ must or not must not let ´us´ think. I do not take talking points from these arrogant rubes and I am fully capable of developing my own opinions without their help. This is exactly why Trump was elected.

David French against Tucker Carlson? I do not agree with Tucker on all things, but I do agree at least on 85% of things, probably more.

David French, on the other hand, is a complete fool, and I disagree with at least 90% of what he say, probably more. That this man can call himself conservative is amazing. Perhaps because he is so stupid, it makes sense to him, but more likely, he is an evil shill, like Billy Boy Krystal, only pretending to be a conservative.

Our system is VERY, VERY far from capitalism, to the point that it is NOT capitialism far more than it is capitalism. Way too much government distortion of the markets, way too many restrictions on economic freedom within this country. All to the detriment of the middle class, and to the benefit of the top 1/2% who run multinational businesses.

Smartphones and digital technology are supposed to make our lives easier, but for young adults, it seems that things may only be getting tougher — and for a slew of reasons. According to one recent survey, about 3 out of 5 millennials (58%) feel life is more stressful right now than ever before. In fact, the survey of 2,000 American millennials, commissioned by CBD oil company Endoca, reveals that one-third of millennials believe their lives are more stressful than the average person’s life. The survey also pointed to numerous causes of the frustration for this young segment.

President Donald Trump this weekend called out multinational corporation General Motors (GM) for closing its first of four U.S. assembly plants it expects to shutter this year, urging GM CEO Mary Barra to quickly reopen the plant. Trump called out the automaker and Barra for laying off thousands of American workers and the recent closing of the Lordstown, Ohio, assembly plant. This year, GM announced it would stop production at four of its U.S. plants, including Detroit-Hamtramck and Warren Transmission in Michigan, Lordstown Assembly in Ohio, and Baltimore Operations in Maryland. A damning new report has claimed that since 2014, the government of German Chancellor Angela Merkel has allowed thousands of war criminal migrants to enter the country. The new report claims that from 2014 to 2019, the German government not only let in around 5,000 migrants who were subject to investigation for violating international law, but only investigated a handful of them itself, German tabloid Bild reports. The paper states that the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) tipped the government off to around 5,000 migrants they believed had been involved in war crimes or other crimes against humanity.

Defeated but unrepentant, some jihadists limping out of their besieged final bastion in eastern Syria still praise the Islamic State and promise bloody vengeance against its enemies. The skeletal and dishevelled figures shuffling out of the smouldering ashes of the "caliphate" may look like a procession of zombies, but their devotion seems intact. At an outpost for US-backed forces outside the besieged village of Baghouz, 10 women stand in front of journalists, pointing their index fingers to the sky in a gesture used by IS supporters to proclaim the oneness of God. They shout in unison: "The Islamic State is here to stay!"

At a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Sen. Harris was particularly concerned about allegations of sexual abuse in U.S. detention facilities; and about the removal of toys from children in Customs and Border Protection custody. After having failed to change the standards last year, Mayor Bill de Blasio is back at it, this time with some backup from celebrity freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
