The panel investigating the Florida high school massacre recommended Wednesday that teachers who volunteer and undergo extensive background checks and training be allowed to carry concealed guns on campus to stop future shootings. The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission voted 13-1 to recommend the Legislature allow the arming of teachers, saying it’s not enough to have one or two police officers or armed guards on campus. Florida law adopted after the Feb.

They should pay for it out of Sheriff Israel´s pension.

I have to admit that I a totally SHOCKED by this!!!!

Not by the findings -- that is just common sense!!! Of course teachers should be armed. No bad guy is going to ever go somewhere to do a mass shooting if he has to worry about people immediately shooting back!!!!

But I AM shocked that a public school board or committee was NOT so brainwashed by LIE-beral indoctrination that they actually issued this finding!!!! Maybe there is hope after all!!!!!

What? They are so unrealistic! Why didn´t they recommend the tried and true solution to this problem of defenseless children and teachers being murdered by gun-toting crazy killers? Their obvious answer is to install more and larger "This Is A Gun Free Zone" signs- There is room for them to double or even triple the number of ´Gun Free Zone´ signs.

Has David Hogg been informed of this stupid idea? He is going to be livid. When Mr. Hogg finds out, they are going to be in such trouble, he could just kill them!

Smart folks.

Especially hard to trust in Borward law enforcement when the ONE officer who was on-site, specifically there to protect the kids, turned total coward and stayed out and hid.

This was compounded by the idiot female senior police officer who ordered arriving officers to "set up a perimeter and not go in". After many years of serious police review of school shootings following Columbine, the clear consensus has been for the first officer on the scene, even if alone, to immediately enter and engage. In a large number of the cases, the killing stops immediately and the shooter goes on defense instead of offense against unarmed people.

TWO massive, cowardly and incompetent, deadly failures by the Broward LE departments.

Teachers who know and actually care about the students, and who ARE ALREADY ON THE SCENE, have a much better effect. And, if it is known that some teachers are armed, it has a huge deterrent effect.

Good call by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission.

Police spokesman Detective Jeremy Silbert says the unloaded rocket launcher was turned in Monday, Dec. 17. The mother of a 7-year-old girl who died while in US custody this month was too despondent to attend her daughter’s funeral in an impoverished mountain village in Guatemala on Christmas Day. Friends and relatives took turns carrying Jakelin Caal’s white casket along a muddy road in San Antonio Secortez to a tiny cemetery — some 2,000 miles from where she died in an El Paso, Texas, hospital on Dec. 8. Religious songs were played at the gravesite, where about 150 people gathered. But it was too much for her mother and grandfather, said her uncle Jose Manuel Caal, 33.

An elementary school principal in Nebraska was placed on leave after telling teachers to avoid decorating their classrooms with Christmas-themed ornaments so as not to offend those who don’t celebrate the holiday. The principal at Manchester Elementary School, identified by Fox affiliate KPTM as Jennifer Sinclair, sent out a memo earlier this week with guidelines as to what is considered appropriate for classroom decorations and assignments. Teachers reportedly were told that generic winter-themed items, such as sledding and scarves, and the “Frozen” character Olaf, were acceptable.

Dump the eggnog and strip the lights from the Hanukah bush, because the #MeToo movement is coming for holiday fun. #MeToo, which started out as a righteous campaign to stamp out sexual harassment and predation, has gone stark raving bonkers. The charming ditty “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” is all about heterosexual flirtation and attempted seduction. The Fight for $15 isn’t living up to its promise. For years, liberals have claimed that the minimum wage needs to increase to $15 an hour to provide a living wage for full-time workers. The stated goal, as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders writes on his website, is straightforward, “We must ensure that no full-time worker lives in poverty.” In one way, the campaign has been remarkably successful. California and New York are phasing in a statewide $15 an hour minimum wage. Numerous cities, including Seattle, Minneapolis and Washington D.C., have passed $15 an hour minimum wage
