Everybody’s Wrong: Donald Trump Won
the Chuck-n-Nancy Meeting, and Here’s Why

Daily Beast, by Matt Lewis

If Tuesday’s instantly famous Oval Office meeting is a harbinger of things to come, it’s going to be a long two years for “Chuck and Nancy.” Presidents can be intimidating, and Trump had home court advantage during Tuesday’s meeting. However, Chuck Schumer seemed especially outmatched by a very forceful Donald Trump. As Bill Kristol (no Trump apologist) put it: “[B]ased on what I saw of their respective performances in that Oval Office meeting today, I don’t understand why it’s Nancy Pelosi who’s facing a leadership challenge and Chuck Schumer who isn’t.” The mainstream media will focus

Welcome and surprising, coming from The Daily Beast: ´Trump had home court advantage during Tuesday’s meeting.´

And he beat the opposing team soundly!

Great job by the President. I don’t believe they ever expected this and they will not agree to meet this way again, but the President got his message across. He knows that the majority of Americans support him. Chuck and Nancy looked ridiculous as they sat there knowing it was not going well for them. Nancy, of course, went straight for the “manhood” comment which is par for the course for today’s feminists. Chuck looked gobsmacked. I couldn’t stop smiling.

So I will take the mantle, I will be the one to shut it down. I won’t blame you for it.

Oh, I suspect somehow that their names will come up at rallies....maybe not in a blaming sort of way, but just so everyone´s clear that Nancy and Chuck are within their right to hate America by not building the wall....that´s not blame, right?

Would love for President Trump to spell out which departments will be closed during a shut down. I´m probably just dreaming that the tradition of eventually granting federal workers back pay for their time off can be eliminated.

Would be sweet to identify multiple agencies as not critical and start a systematic firing process by a random drawing. Every Friday employees are required to stand outside their place of employment to hear a roll call of those terminated. Escort them to their offices to remove their personal items and they are off the government teat. Sorry, Congress did not authorize a budget, you are fired.

Great work by the President. Chuckie looked like a kid who had to go to the Principal´s office for throwing spit wads again. Miss Uneven Eyelids looked like she wanted to hide under her chair.

The President has the moral high ground on this one. Besides, a so-called government shutdown amounts to no more than a paid long weekend for the federal employees.

Note to Chuckie and Miss Uneven Eyelids - did you happen to notice this caravaner thing going on out west by the border with Mexico and what almost happened? Might want to pay much better attention and fund the wall.

"Everybody"? LOL

Maybe in liberal bubbles.

And this by the president, "So I will take the mantle, I will be the one to shut it down. I won’t blame you for it," is a mark of courage.

Every time the Democrats call it "Trump´s Shutdown" (sadly lacking the alliterative magic of Schumer´s Shutdown) it will remind his supporters, at least, that he stood up to the heat, and in this case, I feel, reached into the fire of election reverses and overconfident opponents, and pulled out a gold ingot.

When they shut down the government they shut down (non-essential) departments and operations.

If they are non-essential, then I suggest you leave them shut down! Use the savings to build a wall.

Nasty Pelostomy and Schmuckie Schmoozer are playing with nuclear fire here. Trump was elected on the promise to build this wall, his re-election is dependant on it. This is a hill he will die on.

The afterscosrch is that, unlike the big government shutdown inder Obama where every department was directed to make the shutdown as painful as possible for the public Trump is in charge of what closes and what doesn´t. Obama made sure parks, monuments and public access was the first thing to be shut down, leaving unessential backroom operations intact until much later. He even spent money to hire guards to close normally unattended open air spaces (remember the WWII Vets storming their monument on the mall?)

This time it will be weeks before anyone actually notices the shutdown. And he has the publics support. Nanacy and Chuckie are gonna lose this fight, the longer they drag it out, the more they will lose.

All President Trump needs to do, whenever discussing shutting down the government, is to say:

´´Chuckie and Nancy were warned that I would shut the government down, but they forced the issue and made me do it. They still don´t understand that I mean what I say about protecting the American people!´´

Maybe Chuckie and Nancy will get tarred with that brush...

FTA "Politicians often promise to drive a tough bargain (when rallying their base before an election), only to engage in conciliatory rhetoric when face to face with an adversary. The civilized “norm,” in other words, is to be a fake. But here—face to face with his adversaries—Trump defended his decision regarding a wall." Exactly why President Trump got elected! All the other Republican candidates would have caved immediately.

From the leftist Daily Beast no less! Of course there is the obligatory NeverTrumper who constantly rail that everything President Trump does is wrong. "National Review editor Rich Lowry believes this was a tactical mistake for Trump." Screw the Democrats and shutdown the government until the wall is funded Mr. President!

This snarky article points to Trump´s victory using the wrong reasons.

Folks --- the actual "debate" is not over a lousy $5 billion. For the Feds that´s a rounding error in the budget. Nancy & Chuck (as Trump kept calling them, ha, ha!)are on full display saying that a wall won´t work at protecting us. For that measly amount of money they should spend it and say "We´ll do anything to help America!". Instead Trump caught them on live interviews defending illegals and not sticking up for the USA. They fell into Trump´s trap. The government might get shut down --- because the Dems won´t spend a piddling amount to protect us. Let that sink in.

If N&C were really savvy, they´d say: "The President wants it to protect America and so we agree. In fact, here´s $6 billion."

#6. When you look at just about any federal agency personnel roster from the top on down, you can be assured that about 50% of the executive staff, managers, supervisors and workers are competent people who do a good job; that leaves the other 50% that are essentially dead wood that because of very complicated and liberal civil service regulations, or the fact that they were hired to fill some sort of affirmative action or equal employment opportunity quotas, or have a political rabbi taking care of them, cannot easily be fired without the executives involved and even the agency suffering political ramifications. That’s just the way it is.

When there has been a government shutdown in the past, the federal agencies have been able to shield most of their employees from not having to come to work by deeming them to be essential personnel. That’s better in a way then just sending them home, as in the past those employees sent home were always paid just as their essential contempories who remained in the workplace all day.

There are benefits to the general public visiting DC during a shutdown, as Congress and the Supreme Court do not comply with the government shutdown and stay open, most visitors don’t realize that, so the usual long lines to visit the Capitol building or the Supreme Court are not there, and usually visitors can get right in.

I wish President Trump could announce that "any employees not working during the shut down will not be compensated for their missed time as their work had not been done. If they want payment for the time their office was closed, they can use vacation or personal time.

But sadly, a so-called government shutdown amounts to no more than a paid long weekend for the federal employees.

Government workers have civil service protections, they should not be allowed to unionize and have better working conditions and pay than 95% of the taxpayers who pay their salaries.

While President Trump talked substance, Piglosi and Schumer talked process and reverted to personally insulting Trump. Clearly Trump wanted progress on that issue while Piglosi and Schumer were all about obstruction.

#24 – The Lowry quote jumped out for me also. However, Matt Lewis countered Lowry’s comment with this golden truth at the center of it all, “The only problem here is that the old rules don’t apply to Trump.”

Chuck and Nancy, the leaders of the Uniparty and icons for the Deep State, along with their enablers in Fake News still have yet to realize that the political paradigm changed when The Donald rode down the elevator of Trump Tower and strode confidently into the Oval Office. I also agree with Lewis that a Dim controlled House is a gift for Our President. They will provide an opportunity for open warfare better than the passive-aggressive GOPe led by Ryan.

Chuck and Nancy are going to have to buy a lot of vowels from Vanna to get this week’s championship round saying, “The only problem here is that the old rules don’t apply to Trump.”

The fairest way would be to get a half-dozen pieces of paper, write the following agency names on them:
"FBI", "FBI", "FBI", "FBI", "FBI", and finally "FBI".

Then put them in a hat and just randomly pick one agency to be gutted.

Oh yes, consider pay-per-view.

It was no coincidence that Donald Trump scheduled a trip to Britain to promote one of his golf courses in Scotland, on June 23, 2016. That was the day of the Brexit referendum in which 52 percent of the electorate --17.4 million voters, more than any party has ever won in a general election -- voted for the UK to leave the European Union. Candidate Trump´s earlier endorsement of Brexit was criticized by elevated opinion as an unfriendly interference in another nation´s internal affairs, although few, if any, had similarly criticized then-President Barack Obama for having urged Britons to vote "remain"

Another leak about President Trump, supposedly from federal prosecutors, and another media freakout. This one was different from the earlier ones in its seriousness. (Snip)But the Times was much more generous in describing what you might otherwise call “secretive communications” with Russia when Barack Obama was president. In 2012, during his re-election campaign, Obama was caught by a hot mic whispering to then-President Dmitry Medvedev that he was potentially

I appreciate David’s response to my column on the FBI counterintelligence investigation of Trump, but unfortunately don’t find it persuasive. David emphasizes how the regulations governing a counterintelligence investigation focus on the activity of the foreign power. Yeah, sure. But that’s why the Times story was so explosive. It reported on a counterintelligence investigation of Trump himself, who is obviously not a foreigner, but the duly elected president of the United States. The Times story says that the FBI feared Trump might have been a witting or unwitting agent of the Russians.

The internet expands the bounds of acceptable discourse, so ideas considered out of bounds not long ago now rocket toward widespread acceptability. See: cannabis legalization, government-run health care, white nationalism and, of course, the flat-earthers. Yet there’s one political shore that remains stubbornly beyond the horizon. It’s an idea almost nobody in mainstream politics will address, other than to hurl the label as a bloody cudgel. I’m talking about opening up America’s borders to everyone who wants to move here.

President Trump on Thursday abruptly denied military aircraft to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a foreign trip just minutes before the congressional delegation was set to depart, in a stunning response to her call to delay the State of the Union address amid the government shutdown. In a curt letter, Trump said her trip has been “postponed.” “Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay,

And… That Ginsburg will retire in January. The Santa Monica Observer reported: As any reader of the Santa Monica Observer knew last September, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed lung cancer. A University of Georgia teaching assistant who routinely attacks the concept of “whiteness” on social media took it a step further Wednesday when he declared that “some white people may have to die” in order for black people to advance. “Some white people may have to die for black communities to be made whole in this struggle to advance to freedom,” UGA philosophy TA and Ph.D. student Irami Osei-Frimpong wrote in a now-deleted comment on the Overheard at UGA Facebook page, Campus Reform reported. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) looked defeated Friday afternoon when reporters confronted her over her outrageous claims Trump endangered her life by cancelling her military flight then allegedly leaked her commercial travel plans. Earlier Friday morning, Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill accused President Trump of endangering Pelosi’s life by leaking her commercial travel plans. Nancy Pelosi doubled down on those claims when confronted by reporters. “We had the prerogative to travel commercially, and we made plans to do that, until the administration then leaked that we were traveling commercially,” Pelosi told a gaggle of reporters. Gillette is doubling down on a controversial new campaign that appears aimed at taking on so-called toxic masculinity — but has created a social media firestorm. The two-minute video from Boston-based razor brand Gillette urges men to act against sexual harassment, misogyny and bullying, asking: “Is this the best a man can get?” While fans are applauding the move, critics say it assumes men need to be steered away from negative tendencies. The ad starts off with audio of news about the #MeToo movement, saying, “We can’t hide from it. It has been going on far too long. We

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews joined the chorus of pundits losing their minds over President Donald Trump cancelling Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Afghanistan — but admitted that the president made the Democrats “look like fools.” President Trump had hilariously cancelled the trip as the Democrats were in a bus on their way to the flight. Deep State: We´ve been saying for some time now that the entire investigation of Donald Trump for "colluding" with the Russians smelled like Deep State sabotage. Now, former associate Attorney General Bruce Ohr has confirmed that´s true. If so, these are criminal acts. The only question is, what do we do now? Both the Justice Department and FBI have maintained they didn´t really know that Trump Dossier compiler Christopher Steele had any bias at all against Trump. And, even when they got their hands on Steele´s unverified dossier on Trump, they claim they didn´t know that S

The federal government shutdown has presented a unique opportunity for President Donald Trump to clear out the deadwood in the federal bureaucracy, saving U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars in salaries, perks, and rented office space for people who aren´t doing anything productive. At the same time, Trump can get rid of dozens, possibly even hundreds of Deep State operatives in the government, handpicked by Barack Obama and Bill Clinton for their loyalty to the Democratic Party, not their country or the law. These people leak like a screen door in a submarine, mainly to CNN and MSNBC, the twin headquarters

In the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll released Thursday, President Donald Trump may have suffered some among Republicans overall, but he saw a huge point gain in a different demographic breakdown, and an unexpected one by conventional wisdom. In early December, the poll had Trump’s approval rating among Latino adults at 31%. The results from the poll released Thursday show the president’s job approval among Latino adults at 50%. That is an astonishing 19 point swing. Prior results had less variance, with Latino approval numbers at 36% in their November 1st findings. It was 27% in the pollster’s mid-October survey.
