The West Needs to Rediscover
Talent for Self-Government

American Greatness, by Conrad Black

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 12/6/2018 11:01:08 AM

As they honor George H.W. Bush and take note of the latest implausible speculation about Robert Mueller’s inquiry and related matters, Americans should be aware of the deterioration of the political institutions and governments of Europe. France only a few months ago was widely looked to as a likely source of political renovation that could incite and encourage modernization in other Western countries. Today, the place is in a state of widespread disorder. (Snip)In one sense, these malcontents—“gilets jaunes” as they are called for their yellow vests—are doing the world a favor.

Comments:
The longish intro kept the meat of the article out of the intro. Do read it. Another important essay from Black.

FTA:

In one sense, these malcontents—“gilets jaunes” as they are called for their yellow vests—are doing the world a favor. They are telling the immense coalition of Marxists, eco-alarmists, camp-followers, dupes, and garden variety political cowards that they will not put up with this bunk about climate change requiring drastic reductions in carbon emissions and therefore justifying absurdly high fuel prices as the world oil price declines. This was too easily accessible an escape hatch for political leaders who have no idea how to square the circle of bloated public expenditures, sorely irritated taxpayers, bourgeois insistence on retention of some value for our currencies which have no value other than in relation to each other, and the irresistible temptation to promise to spend more.

It is government ruling a person or God. Those are the only two choices for me and I will let God guide me in my everyday decisions. When a person reads the Bible from beginning to end, a whole new perspective happens.

For the West to rediscover the talent for self-government the West first needs to rediscover the desire for it. For that to happen the West needs to rediscover a desire for the truth.

To understand the "talent" for self government, the ignorant masses would have to be immersed in US and world history- and not the NEA versions. They feel they have no need to know history because they are too smart already. Just ask the Hawaiian moron.

Two years ago this month, the set-up of Lt. General Michael Flynn began. And now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has recommended the lightest sentence possible for Flynn’s crime of lying to the FBI in 2017, Americans are reminded that the real criminals—top officials at our nation’s most trusted agencies—have yet to be charged for illegally leaking classified information about Flynn to the news media in an effort to sabotage Donald Trump’s presidency. Flynn was toward the top of Barack Obama’s enemies list. Forced out of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2014 by Obama loyalist James Clapper, Flynn joined

Donald Trump’s former consiglieri Michael Cohen, along with being charged with tax avoidance and improper business deals, allegedly is guilty also of trying to leverage money and attention by exaggerating his influence with candidate and later President Trump. In other words, Cohen to spec followed the standard creepy daily fare for Washington and New York wannabe fixers. But did we need Robert Mueller’s 18 months and $40 million to uncover and redirect to federal attorneys what was largely self-evident? Could not the U.S. government long ago, without the prompt of a special counsel, have uncovered that Michael Cohen

One of the most wanted Mexican sex traffickers has been sentenced to eight years in prison after smuggling young women into the United States and then forcing them into prostitution. Mexican national Raul Granados-Rendon, 31-years-old, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to trafficking young women from Mexico through to New York City, where he and members of the Granados family would force them into prostitution. Last week, Granados-Rendon was sentenced to eight years in prison for sex trafficking across Mexico to the U.S. between October 1998 to December 2011.

Trumpism Sweeping The Globe

Last week rioters in France protested against the high-tax globalism that plagues that nation’s economy. Similar sentiment is cropping up throughout Western Europe, including in the United Kingdom, while in Canada conservatives are preparing to possibly sweep the far-left (and disastrous) government of Justin Trudeau from power as early as next year. Even as liberals and the Deep State in Washington D.C. attempt to cripple the Trump presidency, millions of people all across the globe are yearning for their version of Trump to make their own countries great again.

"Prosecutors´ Narrative Is Clear: Trump Defrauded Voters. But What Does It Mean?" the New York Times asked in a headline. The narrative means Bungling Bob Mueller cannot find any actual crime, and so he is making one up. But the whole set up means Washington DC -- from Congress to the media -- still refuses to accept the results of the 2016 presidential election. The election of President Donald John Trump is America´s Brexit. The swamp is our Theresa May.

I hope y’all are hanging in there with me today because each of these Sunday posts is essentially an audio-video chapter in one singular book. A stunningly deep book that explains the entire purpose of Trump from his/our perspective. Here is an absolutely perfect, and in many ways jaw-dropping, interview with the head of the International Monetary Fund Christine Legarde. It would be easy to write 10,000 background words on this singular interview alone. Decades of advanced globalist monetary/trade policy -vs- the recent uprising in economic nationalism. THAT is the significant backstory at work here.

The transcript from the first James Comey interview with the joint house committee is rather revealing for several measures. One of the more interesting aspects surrounds Comey claiming the FBI never investigated the Trump campaign; and yet also claiming four Trump campaign officials had FBI investigative files opened on them simultaneously. Apparently, Comey wants everyone to believe it was a coincidence or something. Additionally, within his ‘interview’ Comey confirmed our previous hunch on a very specific redaction within the Nunes memo: (Image)

Legal trouble for President Trump is coming from all sides. There’s evidence Paul Manafort was still communicating with the White House this year. There’s evidence suggesting the Russian government was offering “synergy” with the Trump campaign. There’s further evidence Trump directed Michael Cohen to make the hush-money payments to pornographer Stormy Daniels. It’s still very unclear whether Trump broke any laws. It’s perfectly clear, however, that Trump got himself in this perfectly avoidable mess through bad behavior. For starters: Had Trump not cheated on his wife with a porn actress, he would not have found himself

“Prosecutors’ Narrative Is Clear: Trump Defrauded Voters.” So declares the first part of the headline of a New York Times article by Peter Baker and Nicholas Fandos. The rest of the headline asks “But What Does It Mean?” Good question. It may mean that the prosecutors haven’t found a crime, but are still pi**ed off that Trump won the election. I find odd the notion that Trump defrauded voters. No candidate in my lifetime ever painted a clearer, more vivid picture of himself for voters. For better or for worse,

The country’s National Assembly approved a proposal to change the constitution to make the so-called reforms legal in a vote of 183 to 77. This paves the way for land to be taken from farmers without giving any kind of compensation. A deadline of the end of March next year for the committee to present its first report to parliament has also been agreed.
