In case you missed the funeral, don´t worry. Rush was there and will relate his entire experience, in minute detail no doubt.

So beautifully and sincerely planned and carried out that it hardly feels scripted. Such an amazing difference between this and the sideshow that was the McCain production.

The ceremony at the airport in Houston was the same. Thoughtful selections of music, perfect timing. Just wonderful tributes to a life lived well.

Something I had never thought about before was the energy that #41 had. He did not waste time, even in golf. He directed his energy in productive ways. He could have taken cushy Wall St. jobs or even lived on his own inheritance. I give the man a ton of credit for his willingness to serve when and where he was called. He had a wife who was strong enough to maintain the family and their love affair through it all.

I don´t think GHWB could imagine the dark hearts on the left that seek to destroy not only our nation but all of Western Civilization, too. He could see the darkness in Communism but I think it was impossible for him to consider the evil lurking in the home-grown far left as we see it today. I loved the stories Al Simpson told. Here´s another man from a family (nearly considered royalty in Wyoming) who simply could not see what the left was becoming in this country. ]

I would be glad to live in a world inhabited by a majority of people with the values and lifestyles of the Bush and Simpson families. Good, kind, intelligent, curious, generous people with energy and the willingness to serve others. I am so thankful for their exemplary lives.

#2 this is a funeral for a real president. The McCain production was a presidential make believe show. His funeral was a circus parade of a wannabe traveling carcass for political revenge.

#6, the Clintons´ goodbye is already 20 years has already passed. Bill looks like death warmed over and Hillary looks as stiff as a board. At lest that was what she looked like yesterday not (pretend) smiling or giving a nod of the head to the other VIP´s seated with her. She is as cold as a corpse....do you think maybe she is one and Bill just drags her around and props her up?

President Bush I deserved his sendoff. McCain deserved a respectful viewing in his his home state. McCain´s opinion of himself far outweighed what and who he really was.
His coffin should have been a birdcage.

OK, nice guy, war hero. RINO president. Probably helped dig half of the Swamp and stock it with creatures.

Please spare me anymore cloying BS fake, hypocritical praise from media which hated him when he was president.

Sad, overdone, a bit embarrassing, frankly.

I agree with #10, it´s way overdone.

Both the Bushes were terrible presidents...we are still trying to straighten out the mess that they created in the Middle East decades later.

I could go on, but why bother? It will all be forgotten in a day or two.

I don´t understand this at all. The only person who should receive a state funeral is a president who dies in office.

Why play "hail to the chief" for someone who´s no longer a chief, why military bands and pomp and ceremony when he´s no longer CIC, why shuttle him back and forth across the nation on AF One when he will be rightfully buried in his home town?

And particular to the Bush family, under what authority was GWB saluting the military?

Each president was a public servant. After their term(s) is up ... they return to private life as a private citizen. As a private citizen, he deserves the most respectful private funeral his family entertains.

We do not have a permanent ruling class.

Casey Stengel would have spotted this bogus play, the so-called Google congressional hearing, from the cheap seats. "Can´t anybody here play this game?" the famous baseball manager would have asked the Republicans hemming and hawing and ignoring their way through the biggest existential threat to conservatives ever. Apparently not, Casey. The scene was the House Judiciary Committee. Waiting to testify was the CEO of Google, where for at least the last five years, conservatives have been attacked, marginalized, removed, defamed, harassed, and demonetized – all to the sounds of glee if not ecstasy from purple-haired Google engineers.

Obamacare is a hydra-headed nightmare monster - with high costs that only go higher, irrelevant services, limited choices, one-size-fits-all offerings, a nasty subsidy system that doubles as an involuntary data-mining operation, bad security, endless paperwork, an incredibly capricious cost structure, all topped off with a hipster-leftist nomenklatura of entrenched Obamacare industry millionaires that loves robbing you blind.
