PARIS - French authorities are worried that another wave of “great violence” and rioting will be unleashed in Paris this weekend by a hard core of several thousand ‘yellow vest’ protesters, an official in the French presidency said on Thursday. Despite capitulating this week over plans for fuel taxes that inspired the nationwide revolt, President Emmanuel Macron has struggled to quell the anger that led to the worst street unrest in central Paris Rioters torched cars, shattered windows, looted shops and sprayed and anti-Macron graffiti across some of Paris’s most affluent districts, even defacing the Arc de Triomphe. Looks like Macron trying to kick the can down the road isn’t going to work.
I must admit that I don’t have a lot of sympathy for these protesters. Like the Venezuelans, they voted for socialism. Be careful what you vote for - all that tempting “free” stuff can come back and bite you in the wallet.

Up until yesterday I assumed that these were the usual Muslim terrorists.. It now, according to some of the msm, appears that they are TAXPAYERS?! Fighting Climate Change? A caller to Hannity said many were chanting "Trump!" If so, Where can I get one of those vests?!

We normally help the French when the Barbarians invade their country. This time they let them in, so I think they are on their own.

The French have defined "great violence" downward... they measure violence by how angry their Muslim Overlords get.

How many times in this country have we heard the phrase ´or riots will break out?´
The threat is leveled at any and all Republican politicians (or anyone else) who dares suggest living within our means. In the present day, this means refusing to provide layabouts and illegals with succor.
Essentially, our politics has become one large extortion racket with Antifa punks waiting for their signal to go into action. But these aren´t riots are much as they are performance art with signs, chants, and some windows smashed for effect. The ´racist cop´ lunacy stoked by Obama & Holder were more of the same. Still, the media dutifully air them as evidence of actual voter sentiment and dullards like Paul Ryan believe them.
That fear is artificial to a degree. But the great violence feared by socialists in the linked story is very real...these are individuals otherwise engaged in productive jobs and lives who have been pushed too far, especially given the specious premise of climate change. Both socialist policies and rhetoric are being actively opposed and this is making them very nervous and for good reason.

It looks like Macron let the genie out of the bottle. It´s not just the fuel tax thing that has the people riled up. Rather, it is the people´s mass rejection of Macron´s progressive policies that is breeding mass rage. Notice that our own msm is leaving out this minor detail in its reporting. The msm does not want us to see disapproval of progressivism, the very ideology they are pushing upon us here in America.
Note to the French citizens - mind if I ask why you voted for Macron in the first place? Le Pen sure seemed like the better choice - a Trump-like nationalist?

I have been watching and following the French comments on this "Yellow Vest" / "Yellow Jacket" revolt on Twitter. It appears to me that the fuel tax was the last straw for the lower and middle class taxpayers and working class. They are fed up with Globalism and Climate Change and Immigration activism by EU. This appears to be a genuine Economic Nationalism Revolt in the image of Trump / Brexit. It seems to slowly be spreading and uniting in UK, Italy, Spain, Germany. This could really spark something huge. NWO Globalism is on the ropes and could do something desperate. Example: ban Free Speech and criticism of Migration. The People want their Liberty back!

I have a problem with the broad brush stroke “they all voted for it so they deserve it” that shows up regularly when we know that 100% of the French voters did not vote for Macron, 100% of our voters did not vote for Clinton and Obama, 100% of California’s voters did not vote for Jerry Brown or Gavin Newsom.
The minority is always held captive to the majority. To say that they deserve the outcome is harsh. What alternative did the minority have?

Maintaining socialism is very expensive. The government must take money from people to support it. Big government, which is necessary for socialism, needs big money.
We, in the U.S. have not adopted socialism yet-in spite of the democrat radicals- but have been seeing government grow in the past decades. Eventually, government will completely subordinate the people, and take more and more from them to maintain its power.
Right now, President Trump is our only hope to slow. stop, or even turn things around. The Republicans in Congress are no help, the democrats are totally written off, and our young people have been indoctrinated to expect free stuff. We have a lot of work to do if we want to save our country.

My head is spinning. An internet tax would be passed to customers who are also being hit with other increases. The rioters, as I see it aren´t protesting business, but outrageous taxation.

Get out your gloves and scarves, Columbia. After a weekend full of chilly rain, forecasters are predicting the area may be getting a little snow. A mix of snow and rain is expected to fall on the Columbia-area Sunday night into Monday morning, National Weather Service Forecaster Jeff Linton said Friday. Because of the rain that is expected to accompany the icy precipitation, Linton said the snow likely will not stick or accumulate on the ground. If the forecast shifts and temperatures drop more than already expected, that increases the chance of a white dusting on the grass Monday morning, he

The Washington Post reported that “Trump had been leaning against supporting the congressional spending bill but relented after several conversations with [Majority Leader Sen.
