What Joe Biden doesn´t understand
New York Daily News, by S. E. Cupp

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 12/6/2018 4:57:30 AM

We all know that Donald Trump is the Braggart in Chief. But a close second may be Joe Biden, whose humble brags often know little humility. Just last year after a slew of Democratic victories in special elections, he bragged in an email that “nearly every candidate I endorsed won.” Of Trump’s admission that he grabbed women by their genitals and got away with it because he was a celebrity, he puffed out his chest and boasted: “If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.”

None. That´s how many.

Oh, come on, SE. Trump never said that he’d done it. He said that women would LET you do it if you were famous or wealthy. And he was right - just look at Hollyweird.

This is where I stopped reading...”From a slew of inexperienced Tea Party candidates in 2010 to Donald Trump to another round of newcomers in 2018, we just aren’t into long records of accomplishment these days.”

Trump is lacking in accomplishments? So, SE, why aren’t you a billionaire with buildings bearing your name all over the planet?

The punch line is buried deep in this column, and I suspect the author is writing tongue-in-cheek.

S.E. Cupp, the writer, is looking for a Democrat to win in 2020, and discounts Biden as a relic from an older time, "a bygone generation that preferred their Presidents to have been great war heroes, cabinet secretaries or, at the very least, governors." Biden´s self-aggrandizing is irrelevant. Nobody cares, Joe.

So the writer sets the relevant standards for the coming cycle: "Who can withstand Trump’s withering punches? Who can survive a Democratic primary that will pull candidates to the far left, and then pivot back toward the center during a general? Who can speak to the middle of the country? And who has the most money?"

With this filter, who comes out on top? Oprah Winfrey.

That´s Oprah, who came down to Georgia with a flood of publicity, played the race card in a major way, backed a bitter, unready African American woman—and lost big. If Tony Bennett left his heart in San Francisco, Oprah left her mojo in the red clay of Georgia.

And that´s the best the Democrats have? Methinks Ms Cupp is chuckling as she types.

Why must every article begin by slamming DJT?
And why would Joe Biden consider getting elected as a U.S. Senator in the micro-state of Delaware some great achievement? Delaware´s senators are hardly distinguished. The voters there even sent a Coon to the senate.

Interesting, if ironic, bio of the author at the end of the article.

It describes Cupp´s "practical, open brand of conservatism" as "refreshing" to those who are tired of the black-and-white stridency of her peers. This right after she bizarrely includes our president in a list of the unaccomplished and insults him with the Braggart-in-Chief moniker.

Smirking and looking down your nose as you denigrate your opponents using your inside voice must be the difference between plain ole Stridency of the Deploreables and the astute Wisdom of our Betters.

The nation´s most notorious missing person´s case, the disappearance of Teamsters Labor leader Jimmy Hoffa in 1975, can be solved by the stroke of a pen. The U.S. government should order the immediate release – un-redacted and in full – of the FBI´s secret files that the bureau has compiled on the Hoffa´s case, and also order the re-testing of the blood evidence that Fox News found on the floorboards of the Detroit house where a major suspect told me that he murdered Hoffa. The FBI informant interviews, known as 302´s, and other documents such surveillance reports

Legal trouble for President Trump is coming from all sides. There’s evidence Paul Manafort was still communicating with the White House this year. There’s evidence suggesting the Russian government was offering “synergy” with the Trump campaign. There’s further evidence Trump directed Michael Cohen to make the hush-money payments to pornographer Stormy Daniels. It’s still very unclear whether Trump broke any laws. It’s perfectly clear, however, that Trump got himself in this perfectly avoidable mess through bad behavior. Many people I know in law enforcement circles shuddered when James Comey tweeted recently that acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker “may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer.” To them, Comey’s Twitter attack crossed that “blue line” – the one that real cops abide by, to never criticize fellow officers and to always have their backs. I had a different reaction. I found it odd that a man who started his Twitter career by quoting Bible verses about justice might have forgotten one of the golden utterances from Jesus himself:

If we are to believe legal-eagle Jonathan Turley--and why not; he seems pretty competent--Donald Trump´s most serious problem (possibly rising to obstruction) is not Russia collusion, whatever that is, but the hush money payoffs

The City of Lights, Paris, has been illuminated in recent days by cars set alight by thousands of protesting “Yellow Vests”—largely middle class people who earn their living by driving or who commute to get to work. The cause of their ire is a scheduled 25 cents-per-gallon increase in gas taxes, and about 10 cents on diesel, to fight climate change. French President Macron, deeply unpopular, just reversed course on the new green tax—Parisians are already paying about $7.06 per gallon for gasoline, almost half of that in taxes. “Prosecutors’ Narrative Is Clear: Trump Defrauded Voters.” So declares the first part of the headline of a New York Times article by Peter Baker and Nicholas Fandos. The rest of the headline asks “But What Does It Mean?” Good question. It may mean that the prosecutors haven’t found a crime, but are still pi**ed off that Trump won the election.
