Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, reached a divorce settlement with his estranged wife that will cost him millions of dollars, his Ferrari sports car and a number of pricey wristwatches, according to a new report. Under the settlement, Avenatti will have to pay his ex-wife, Lisa Storie-Avenatti, more than $1.9 million in retroactive child and spousal support upfront, according to court documents filed in Orange County and viewed by TMZ. Avenatti, a fierce critic of President Trump, will also have to turn over a number of his assets for liquidation, including five luxury

This little weirdo was featured non-stop on CNN for weeks at a time making outrageous assertions and offering unsubstantiated opinions on any topic that fit an anti-Trump, anti-Kavanaugh narrative. Where are the news hounds now that there is a factual narrative to relate about Avenatti himself? This is the secret of fake news: its proponents only carry a story when they can make up the facts...stories with their own stubborn set of facts go unreported. Try to find the CNN segment covering Avenatti’s arrest and arraignment or the one covering the details of his divorce.

I would think that it returns to the leasing company, #7, and the remainder of the lease becomes a debt. Still, that has to hurt him more than losing the wife.

Beto O’Rourke has caught fire with the Democratic base and media pundits, but not everyone is sure he’d be the best candidate to take on President Trump in 2020. Skeptics of the former Texas lawmaker include those who think his politics run too far to the left for a general election, to those who want a Democratic standard-bearer who is not a white male, to those who think it’s just a bit early for someone who lost a Senate race in Texas to run for president. Several of the most prominent would-be contenders for the Democratic nomination are senators,

Scott has described Andy McCarthy’s article “Why Trump is likely to be indicted by Manhattan US Attorney.” McCarthy does the heavy lifting associated with a legal analysis of whether Trump has, in fact, violated campaign finance law, as the Manhattan U.S. Attorney seems to believe. The six observations I want to add involve light lifting, at most, but may be of interest even so. First, as McCarthy says, Justice Department guidance holds that a sitting president may not be indicted. If prosecutors in the Southern District of New York decide nonetheless to indict Trump for a campaign finance infraction,

The kidnapping of Helen of Sparta by Paris of Troy sparked a 10-year clash of fruitless battles between Troy and Mycenaean Greece in 12th century BC. The deadlock ended quickly after the Greek hero Odysseus had a brilliant idea: “Let’s give Troy a gift.” Pretending to quit the war, the Greek armies rolled a giant wooden horse outside the gates of Troy, then sailed to the island of Tenedos nearby. Leslie Moonves was a television great. CBS Corp.’s former chief executive turned a moribund network into America’s most watched. He had a knack for picking hit shows, creating stars out of nobodies and minting millions of dollars in returns for investors. Wall Street loved him. Advertisers were in awe. CBS board members made him one of America’s highest-paid executives — his compensation last year topped $69 million — and a tight circle of executives gave him their unconditional support. And that was the problem.

With Democrats seizing the House and Republicans keeping the Senate, bills beyond the proverbial post-office-naming will be hard-pressed to make it out of both chambers in the next Congress. The threat President Trump faces from Democrats, then, isn’t legislative obstruction, but the ready-aim-fire of the opposition’s “subpoena cannon.” That’s the term one senior Democratic source used last month in describing to Axios the opposition’s main anti-Trump weapon. Not all of the investigatory weapon’s payload will be fired at once, but the appetite for “resistance” is strong and will tie up significant White House and agency resources. (Full disclosure:
