Former Republican Sen. Alan Simpson drew lots of laughs with his eulogy of his longtime friend, George H.W. Bush, telling stories of the 41st president´s trademark sense of humor. "Relax: George told me I only have 10 minutes. He was very direct about it. It wasn´t even funny," Simpson quipped as he began his address at the memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. The 87-year-old Wyoming native said he first met Bush in 1962 in Washington, D.C. after his father, Milward Simpson, was elected to the Senate. When his parents left Washington a few years later, Simpson recalled

It was a very well done eulogy. He even managed to give praise to Trump. He credited Bush with NAFTA but went on to say that it was recently updated and improved by our current President. Obama looked green when that was said. I’m sure he was hoping this would be a Trump bashing.

The United States is the top pick — by far — for migrants seeking a new home, despite reports that President Trump’s policies are scaring people away and making countries such as Canada and some in Europe the preferred choice, according to a new report. Some 158 million, or a population far larger than all of Russia, want to move to the U.S., about 21 percent of all those in the world seeking a new home. In a worldwide survey, Gallup found that 15 percent of the world, or 758 million, want to move, most for jobs. The list: (Copy

The recent Michael Cohen developments have overshadowed a key piece of news: emails between the Department of Justice and the FBI show that top officials in both felt the need to rein Donald Trump in following the firing of FBI Director James Comey. What does that mean? Was "the swamp" really trying to negate the results of the 2016 presidential election? The Daily Wire´s own Andrew Klavan broke it all down on Monday´s episode of "The Andrew Klavan Show." Quoting from a CNN report, Klavan noted that deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and other "top FBI officials" saw President Trump

Thomas Jefferson collected old books and French wines, Warren Harding collected poker buddies, and FDR collected stamps. Harry S Truman collected sheet music and played the piano. Once he played it at the National Press Club, with Lauren Bacall draped across the upright with a helping of cheesecake. Bess, the first lady, was not amused. Not so long ago, wife-collecting was over the line. Cats do it, dogs do it and even educated fleas were said by Cole Porter to conduct serial romances. Has former CIA director John Brennan just made a very public threat against the physical well-being of the president of the United States? Director Brennan often comes across as an angry, ignorant man and may have just displayed proof of both of those character traits in a nasty public statement. A federal judge ruled Monday that Americans have a right to secretly record their public officials, including police, when they are engaged in their government duties. U.S. District Chief Judge Patti B. Saris said a Massachusetts law banning secret recordings violates the First Amendment when it comes to government employees, rejecting the state’s claims that officials need some space to be able to operate without having to worry about being monitored. “This is not to say that police and government officials have no privacy interests,” she wrote. “However, the diminished privacy interests of government officials performing their duties in public

According to a recent NPR story, The Satanic Temple of Chicago paid to have a statue installed in the rotunda of the Illinois Capitol. To accompany the traditional Christmas Nativity scene and Jewish menorah for Hanukkah, there is now a statue of an arm with a snake coiled around it; in the hand is an apple. An inscription on the front reads, “Knowledge Is the Greatest Gift.” Lest anyone worry about the use of taxpayer dollars to fund this travesty, the NPR piece assures us that the money was donated via a GoFundMe page set up by the temple, in

Rocky financial markets, driven largely by Federal Reserve uncertainty and President Trump’s aggressive tariff negotiation strategy, shouldn’t overshadow two trade victories at the recent G20 Summit. Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping negotiated a trade war truce. Trump agreed to delay raising tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese imports to 25 percent in return for Chinese promises to purchase more American agricultural, energy, and industrial exports and reduce the trade deficit. This ceasefire is double victory for Americans. The most obvious winners are the farmers who have seen their export markets dry up as a result of China’s
