Authorities in Costa Rica believe that the female body found Monday is that of Carla Stefaniak, the missing Florida woman who was vacationing in the area for her birthday. (Snnip)An autopsy revealed that Stefaniak, 36, died as a result of head injuries. She also suffered multiple stab wounds on her neck, ABC Action News reported. As opposed to suicide? accident? Wonder how they might have attempted to explain the multiple stab wounds...

Supposedly one of the safer south of the border countries. A good many US ex-pats live there. I hope that they don´t go the way of Honduras, Nicaragua, etc.

Good places to avoid.

Depending on the distribution of the murders, the quoted national per capita number of 12 murders per 100K population (about triple the US national rate) could be very much understating the problem.

The capital city, San Jose, has under 300K people. If even half of the murder occurred in the city the correct per capita rate in the city would be 100 per 100,000 rather than the 12 claimed nationally. It is usually the case that murders are far more common in cities, could be 75-80% occur in the city, making the local per capita rate more like 150 per 100K.

South and Central America have very, very violent cultures, life is cheap. Reason # 432 to minimize the number of South and Central Americans coming here.

I have been to Costa Rica several times. I have even taken students there. It is a very safe place. Not that there are not opportunities for trouble. The beach areas are like beach areas anywhere . . . . scantily dressed young people, alcohol, hormones, and heat.

Some people pretend that violence doesn´t actually exist. The more to the left they are politically, it seems, the more they tend to believe this fairy tale, apparently some sort of a defense mechanism. Violence is ugly and bad and mean, so let´s not think about it.

Hard fact: More than three times more likely to be murdered in Costa Rica than in the USA.

A dangerous place for a single American female there alone. On top of that Costa Rica is loaded with Nicaraguan illegal aliens many of them criminals. Here we see an unfortunate result.

What else are we to believe now that media are so desperate and pathetic they’re calling for Trump to be impeached over — no joke —

I find odd the notion that Trump defrauded voters. No candidate in my lifetime ever painted a clearer, more vivid picture of himself for voters. For better or for worse,

The major takeaway from the 40-page sentencing memorandum filed by federal prosecutors Friday for Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal attorney, is this: The president is very likely to be indicted on a charge of violating federal campaign finance laws. It has been obvious for some time that President Trump is the principal subject of the investigation still being conducted by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. Cohen earlier pleaded guilty to multiple counts of business and tax fraud, violating campaign finance law, and making false statements to Congress
