Bush funeral: Reconciliation and civility
Update: Except for Hillary

American Thinker, by Monica Showalter

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 12/5/2018 11:48:35 AM

In contrast to the politeness of everyone else, Hillary Clinton refused to acknowledge the arrival and greeting of President and Mrs. Trump as they joined the other presidents sitting in the front row of the George H.W. Bush funeral at the National Cathedral. President Trump leaned over his wife to shake hands with President and Mrs. Obama, who graciously reciprocated. Bill Clinton, sitting on the other side of Michelle Obama, did not reach out to shake hands, but at least looked in the direction of President Trump. But not Hillary Clinton.

To a lot of us . This is like a Carnival side Show. These People are known Criminals . What are they doing at a State Funeral? And why are the American People supposed to be subjected to this Kabuki Dance and declare some kind of reverence? I for one am disgusted at the entire display and hate that this President has to be included in it. Almost every single one of these People are Traitors.

Such an elegant, classy funeral. Just heard #43´s eulogy. Touching, moving, true. Loved the stories from Sen. Simpson. Such genuine affection is so rarely witnessed these days.

It will not be the same, not even close, for anyone else in the front row.

May God bless the memory of our 41st president, and may He protect our beloved nation.

GW Bush’s tribute to his dad was genuine and sincere, true class. Looking at the front row at former President Clinton, I see the opposite. What a contrast.

The epitome of a hateful, spiteful, vengeful, power mad, miserable, vindictive, lying, deceitful, empty shell of a human.
Did I note that I don´t like the person?

I don´t much care for billy but in a small way I do feel some sorrow for the guy being in thrall to her. She knows where his bodies are buried. No wonder the "Monica" incident happened.

She is acting like an 8th grade student who did not make the cheer leading squad. Juvenile. It takes more energy to be a b**** 24/7 then it does to simply act like a decent human being which a state funeral calls for. Thank God she is not our president. I truly believe that President Bush is with his beloved Barbara. He was a kind man, something Mrs. Clinton should give thought to. Glad to see the Bushes (and Obamas) acting appropriately. Which I knew that they would. Hillary should be ashamed but I don´t think shame is in her DNA.

My, my, what a vindictive and classless Billary. Can´t even put it (you lost all on your own, Billary) down at a State funeral. All the more reason why Billary should be shunned from politics forever.

By the way, what was with Obie constantly looking down his nose at the entire proceeding?

W´s eulogy of his father was quite moving. I got to hand to him to keep his composure almost to the end of his presentation.

One would hope that they were all listening to the eulogy´s about a patriotic, brave man who was once our President. THey could all learn something about kindness and class. Even Jeb had something nice to say about Pres. Trump and the way he treated the family. The Clinton´s will never change. They will be a thorn in our sides for a long time.

Her disregard of the president was obvious and pointed. He did well - if she were part of an ancient court setting, she might have been wearing a poisoned ring.

Her face shows her meanspirited nature. Female Dorian Gray. Forget the portrait. She is living it.

If President Trump is any kind of a germaphobe he should be thankful he didn´t touch the hands of the mouth breather Bill and witch from the bottom of the earth Hillary Clinton.
Those two people know that pall bearers will have to be hired and the media will give the eulogy for that X-president, Bill Clinton. Sort of like the funeral of Lee Harvey Oswald no one would help remove his casket at the graveyard from the hearse.

I was glued to the TV during the entire funeral. Whether you agree with their politics or not, one has to agree that the Bushes are one classy clan. As for the others in the front row: the Obamas are obnoxious, she with her smirk and he with his nose in the air as if he smells something bad. Billary are yahoos with not one ota of dignity. He´s a mouth breather and she´s, well I don´t know, I can´t stand her. The Carters, are too dumbed down to comment on. The funeral was deeply satisfying. 41 was a gracious, lovely man. God bless his soul.

Hillary’s glass ceiling has become a glass prison. There are much bigger tragedies in life than not getting a job one desperately wanted. She is a former Secretary of State and had an opportunity here to show ten seconds of civility in a very public forum. She chose not to. Sad.

In the spirit of classiness I won’t say what I’m thinking but I’ll write it: Lighten up, Hillary. Your beef isn’t with Trump. It is with us, the voters. He simply embarrassed you. We despise you. If we could, we’d tar and feather you and run you out of town on a rail. So be happy you got to sit on a church pew instead of a razor-sharp log and were able to wear that sour puss instead of a molten pantsuit.

Shouldn’t Hillary be eternally grateful to Trump for giving her an unwritten pardon for all the crimes she committed as SofS and as candidate Clinton? The bribes, the emails, the destruction of evidence, suborning perjury and the Dossier, to name just a few crimes I realize that losing to Trump denied Hillary the opportunity to become a multi-billionaire, but think of how much she saved in legal costs thanks to PDT and his former AG?

Or, is Hillary bitter because if Trump had not defeated Jeb Bush in 2016 primaries, she would be president today?

In the south, the word most often applied to the Clintons is "common." There´s not an ounce of magnanimity in either of them. They´ve lived self-centered lives and never looked at the lives of ordinary people. The man who could teach them most about that is none other than Donald Trump, who grew up on construction sites and knows the plight of the ordinary man.

Hillary´s rudeness is well known. Read Jerry Oppenhimer´s book (State of a Union: Inside the Complex Marriage of Bill and Hillary Clinton) about her and her early upbringing. If Hillary did not marry Bill Clinton, you never would have heard about her. She flunked the District of Columbia bar; she was a Yale Law School graduate. She went to Arkansas since she did not have to gumption to retake the D.C. Bar (obviously she did not study for it if she failed the bar). She was a loser in 1974 and she still is.

Hillary’s refusal to even acknowledge Trump’s presence was more a sign of weakness than hatred. Oh she certainly hates Trump alright, but she doesn’t have the internal strength (call it coping skills) to face him. Trump even showed strength in not addressing her as she sat both trembling and seething.

Agree with all of the comments regarding Hillary. You could just tell she thought President Trump was trash and did not belong in her royal company. Still hard to believe people actually like her. As for Bill, I wondered why his mouth was hanging open. Before Melania arrived, he almost looked like he was hitting on Michelle.

Thanks to the Trumps and Bushes for knowing how to act at funerals. Loved all of the speeches about President Bush.

Her incivility and rudeness were on display today for the whole world to see.
Shame on her.
A little catty remark to make here....didn´t you just love Michelle´s pinstriped suit? My dad used to call those ´zoot suits.´ It had something to do with the attire of gangsters and mafia back in the day. Could she not of have worn a dress or skirt suit? I didn´t notice what Hill was wearing. Most likely a pantsuit.
It amazes me that some people high up have no manners, class or sense of self while in public. That was surely on display today.

Casey Stengel would have spotted this bogus play, the so-called Google congressional hearing, from the cheap seats. "Can´t anybody here play this game?" the famous baseball manager would have asked the Republicans hemming and hawing and ignoring their way through the biggest existential threat to conservatives ever. Apparently not, Casey. The scene was the House Judiciary Committee. Waiting to testify was the CEO of Google, where for at least the last five years, conservatives have been attacked, marginalized, removed, defamed, harassed, and demonetized – all to the sounds of glee if not ecstasy from purple-haired Google engineers.

The fact that federal workers are now a major and solid constituency for Democrats skews their perception of the public’s concern

Which is worse: candidate, businessman, and then still private citizen Donald Trump using his own money to make what Hillary Clinton might call "bimbo eruptions" go away to protect his brand and himself from personal embarrassment, or Congress using taxpayer money in a slush fund to pay off those sexually harassed by sitting officeholders? (snip) We also know that none of the beneficiaries of this slush fund has been threatened with indictment and incarceration for campaign finance violations since suppressing such information, as Rep. Nadler puts it, amounts to committing a fraud on the American people using their own money.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is upset that people don’t appreciate her intelligence and depth. It turns out that people notice when she says stupid things, such as nattering on about the “three chambers of government” or not understanding that Pentagon accounting errors don’t yield a pot of money available for her pet scheme of “Medicare for all.” Preparing to become a solon in the House of Representatives is not at all like being a hot chick working her previous occupation of bartending, where pretty much anything she said was eagerly appreciated by her male customers.

Obamacare is a hydra-headed nightmare monster - with high costs that only go higher, irrelevant services, limited choices, one-size-fits-all offerings, a nasty subsidy system that doubles as an involuntary data-mining operation, bad security, endless paperwork, an incredibly capricious cost structure, all topped off with a hipster-leftist nomenklatura of entrenched Obamacare industry millionaires that loves robbing you blind. (snip) But the Trump administration itself has been helpful in getting rid of the nightmare in increments, starting with its suspension of the detested fines for ignoring the ´individual mandate.´

Another possible government shutdown showdown just ahead of Christmas, along with news of massive protests in France against unfair and unsustainable tax policies, has comments sections on conservative sites buzzing with calls to just "shut it down" if funding for the border wall is not included in the budget. In the normal course of events, one could understand the hundreds of “I don’t knows” and “I don’t recalls” former FBI Director James Comey during Friday’s testimony. Most FBI investigations are handled out of the field office in which the illegality allegedly occurred with the FBI Director not privy to all the details. But it was Comey who decided to run the whole Trump collusion and obstruction investigation out of FBI headquarters. Once again, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is demonstrating her shaky understanding of the job she was elected to do in what she called one of the “three chambers of government.” Yesterday, she was obviously ticked off when Donald Trump, Jr sent out a meme (snip) [tweet] I have noticed that Junior here has a habit of posting nonsense about me whenever the Mueller investigation heats up. Newly minted Dem congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez once more validated Mark Twain’s (Puddin’head Wilson) quip, “Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself.” Numerous reports have accompanied O-C’s tweet whereby she will pay her interns $15 an hour. After weeks of talking with Special Counsel Robert Mueller about Donald Trump´s supposed collusion with Russia, Dr. Jerome Corsi instead filed his own criminal complaint through attorney and former federal prosecutor Larry Klayman on December 3, 2018. We should remember that Klayman already got the prosecution of Cliven Bundy´s family and associates thrown out for similar prosecutorial misconduct, working in support of the Bundys´ excellent Nevada lawyers as legal strategist. Misconduct by the once-great Department of Justice is all too common. The unethical prosecution of former Alaska Senator Ted Stevens stole a U.S. Senate election from the Republicans in 2008
