Steyn on Clintons: They ´Raked

Oligarchs, But Can´t Get
People to Give Them $10´

Fox News Insider, by Staff

Original Article

Mark Steyn reacted to news that ticket prices for an evening with Bill and Hillary Clinton last week in Toronto plummeted to about $10 a piece, a far cry from donations that flowed into their foundation over the years. Tucker Carlson reported that the theater in Canada was 83 percent empty, and that ticket prices had been listed in the hundreds, but dropped sharply when they didn´t immediately sell well. Steyn said the Clintons are a "contrast" to the late President George H.W. Bush, who was lying in state at the Capitol rotunda on a split-screen.

Well, somehow they are laundering money here. The ´lectures´ are just a cover for the Clintons to get paid some cash. Since it is the Season for Giving they could at least do something a bit charitable. Entice the homeless in with a free meal & a free ticket. Make them sit thru Bill & Hill´s comedy show. Somebody paid for this whole fiasco - and likely it was not the Clintons. I would love a forensic CPA to go over the books!

Me too, #12. It would be a good idea to bring your own garlic and wooden stakes, just in case.

They still have millions and millions in the Clinton Foundation and in various Caribbean Island banks. When we see Chelsea accompanying them on tours with the child we will know that they are down to their last few million. Then they can buy a nice double-wide in Arkansas and live together instead of being a pretend power family.

If I wanted to see an cripple person sit on ugly furniture with a back brace and who knows what medical apparatus is under that circus tent size garment to hear hacking and coughing I would go to a nursing home and see it for free.

I agree with #2, it MUST be a money laundering scheme...even the idiotic Clintons couldn´t possibly think anyone would pay to hear them moan on about anything. They´re washed up political figures with delusions of grandeur.

Now, since Killary ran such an awful campaign and Bill´s predatory nature is incongruent with thew #MeToo movement, even the most liberal progressives can´t stand either one of them! Buh-bye Clintons!

Concerted opposition to the independent judiciary has begun to percolate on the left with little scrutiny. Last week, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez, Hillary Clinton’s former spokesman Brian Fallon, and Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna rallied activists seeking to enervate judicial independence through proposals like court-packing and term limits for justices. Left-wing influencers like Democratic Rep.-Elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attorney Michael Avenatti have endorsed the former proposition already. Progressive websites like Vox.com have repeatedly challenged the notion of judicial review. And dozens of leading lawyers on the left are organizing support for such ideas. The list goes on.

Of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s many targets, the most tragic may be former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. The former three-star general pleaded guilty last year to a single count of lying to the FBI about conversations he had with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. Now we learn from Mr. Flynn’s court filing to the sentencing judge that senior bureau officials acted in a way to set him up for the fall. Not a rich man after decades in uniform, Mr. Flynn pleaded guilty to avoid bankruptcy and spare his son from becoming a legal target. Mr. Flynn’s filing

There is so much wrong with Sports Illustrated’s decision to have Christine Blasey Ford present its 2018 Inspiration of the Year award, it is hard to know where to begin. For starters, there’s the issue that the magazine’s treatment of Ford is more befitting a celebrity athlete than a 52-year-old woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted nearly 40 years ago in high school. (tweet) Ford was not chosen for having any sort of meaningful affiliation with the award recipient, former gymnast Rachael Denhollander, whose testimony eventually led to the downfall of convicted sexual predator Larry Nassar.

Congressional Dems are butting heads with President Trump over his demand for $5 billion to continue building a wall along the southern border. Likely incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi vows she won’t spend one dollar for a wall and calls the idea “immoral.” Not building the wall is what’s truly immoral. Allowing poor migrants to flood across the southern border forces taxpayers to toil longer and pay more taxes to feed and house them, accommodate their children in public schools and pay for their medical care. Americans are already maxed out caring for our own needy, including the homeless

House Democrats are eagerly eyeing the chance to revive earmarks when they take the majority next year, saying it is Congress’s duty to siphon the money to pet projects — and hoping a return to pork-barrel spending will help keep back-benchers in line. But they’re wary of taking the leap alone and say they’re hoping Senate Republicans will join them in reversing an eight-year ban. Rep. Steny H. Hoyer, poised to become House majority leader when the new Congress convenes in January, told reporters he expects bipartisan support for a return to earmarks.

He´s clearly a very handsome, charming man with a talent for promoting himself on social media and an abundance of that most mysterious and amorphous political quality: charisma. I mean he´s a loser in the precise sense that his singular accomplishment in American public life (besides getting himself elected to a House seat in far-west Texas four years ago) has been to lose a Senate race to the stupendously unpopular Republican Ted Cruz.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined forces with suburban mayors on Tuesday to call for a 20- to 30-cents-a-gallon increase in the state’s gasoline tax to bankroll sorely needed mass transit and road improvements. After that, the mayors argued that the gas tax should be increased ev ery year to match the inflation rate.At a City Hall news conference Tuesday, Emanuel argued that 24 states have raised their gas tax since 2012 alone. Meanwhile, Illinois is “stuck in neutral” with a state gas tax of 19 cents a gallon that’s been frozen since 1990 — even though federal taxes and local and state

Two groups of Central American migrants marched to the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana on Tuesday with a list of demands, with one group delivering an ultimatum to the Trump administration: either let them in the U.S. or pay them $50,000 each to go home, a report said. Among other demands were that deportations be halted and that asylum seekers be processed faster and in greater numbers, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. The first group of caravan members, that included about 100 migrants, arrived at the consulate around 11 a.m. Alfonso Guerreo Ulloa, an organizer from Honduras,

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski had to apologize for what some perceived to be a homophobic joke on Morning Joe Wednesday. Brzezinski called Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was “wannabe dictator’s butt-boy.” “I understand that Donald Trump doesn’t care, Heilemann makes a good point, he doesn’t care. But why doesn’t Mike Pompeo care right now?” Mika Brzezinski said of Pompeo’s response to a question about the killing of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi. She continued, “Are the pathetic deflections that we just heard when he appeared on Fox & Friends, is that a patriot speaking? Or a wannabe dictator’s butt-boy?” Mika’s joke

When Professor Christine Blasey-Ford testified against the Supreme Court nomination of then-Judge Bret Kavanaugh, my very first impression was that her voice sounded fake. She sounded like a scared little girl, her voice tremulous, creating an impression of sadness and vulnerability. (snip) For the first time since her testimony, we now have the opportunity to hear her voice, and guess what? She doesn’t sound at all like the witness whose fear and suffering moved so many Democrats and feminists. She sounds like a grown-up, a professor indeed.
