Although O´Rourke lost the race of Senator from Texas to Ted Cruz, the outcome points out a much deeper long term threat to the country.

The closeness of the vote (Cruz should have won Texas by 15% rather than 1.5%) and the successes and near-misses of other marxist/socialist/progressives in Arizona, Georgia N.Y., etc., should scare the daylights out of all Americans who still believe our Constitutional Republic is a good idea.

We should immediately devote a big part of our political efforts to the Convention of States movement to undo the progressive subversion of the constitution and at the same time launch a major effort to limit the damage to our educational system by returning control to states and localities.

If we do not succeed in returning classes on government, civics or whatever name we use, to our high schools the socialists will likely win in time.

If this country votes in a Dem President we are truly doomed. There will be no recovery after that. I am very much afraid that the handwriting is on the wall. The education establishment, lower and higher, has been taken over by the left. We are raising young people who are dumber than bricks when it comes to history and politics. I still think about the young lady in my office some years ago who, upon seeing a framed Civil War item on my wall, asked if I had fought in that war.
