´Mystery´ ballot rejected, crucial
Alaska contest separated by one vote

NBC News, by Allan Smith

Original Article

It could come down to a coin flip. Control of Alaska´s House for the next two years rests on the razor-thin race between Republican Barton LeBon and Democrat Kathryn Dodge. Following a Friday recount, LeBon held a one-vote lead over Dodge. Entering that recount, the candidates were in a dead heat with 2,661 votes each. At the time, a mystery ballot marked for Dodge and found by an election worker at a Fairbanks voting precinct appeared likely to play a crucial role in determining the outcome, but that voted was tossed Friday after election officials determined it belonged to

Comments:
Dems were clamoring to add this ballot to their tally. Turns out it was a mis-marked ballot that was turned in for a new one. Without scrutiny they would have swiped another election.

If the rat is leading by one vote, race is over. That is how the rats do it.

Why is it when "lost" or previously "missing" ballots appear, they always favor the Democrat?

They will let the Democrat toss the coin. Right before she tosses the coin, she will say, ´´Heads I win. Tails you lose.´´ The hapless Republican will say, ´´That sounds fair. I know it´s not really fair, but I don´t want to be accused of being mean.´´

I want to know why we don´t require a chain of custody requirement for ballots. It is evidence that the ballot was in fact a legitimate and a legal ballot.

And why is it that every time ballots are found, it´s ALWAYS in favor of the dems? And when it comes to counting, we must have at least two persons from either side of the isle present at all times or the ballots are declared invalid. Then we will see just how many dems win elections.

As the good old friend of the democratic party once said...."It´s not who voted in the election, it´s who counts the ballots that wins elections."

I honestly thought that the recent earthquake and aftershocks would have unearthed some dRATS ballots coming up from a chasm. Someday, missing GOP votes from many elections will bubble-up from the La Brea Tarpits.

I do suspect that Democrats just have a lot more trouble voting correctly, i.e., following instructions, than Pubs.
Even so, this instance really exemplifies just how loosey-goosey the vote counting process is everywhere!!

After an election the voting process tends to be forgotten. Remedies cost money and have no obvious benefit to the office holders or the election workers.

Besides, elected officials are content with the outcomes. The cranky losers have little influence because they hold no offices.

Hillary would have won if the Democrats hadn´t been so confident. They hadn´t carefully prepared to steal a state or two if need be.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren has the core of her 2020 team in place if she runs for president. She has the seed money — there’s $12.5 million ready to go, left from her recent Senate run — and a massive email list she’s amassed over years, boosted by a $3.3 million investment in digital infrastructure and advertising in the last election alone. Her aides have been quietly shopping for presidential campaign headquarters space in the Boston area in recent weeks, according to a source with knowledge of the move. All that’s left is for her to give the green light.

WASHINGTON — The 2020 Democratic presidential primary, already expected to be the party’s most wide open in decades, has been jostled on the eve of many long-plotted campaign announcements by a political threat that few contenders bothered considering until recently: Will a soon-to-be-former congressman, with an unremarkable legislative record and a Senate campaign loss, upend their best-laid plans? Representative Beto O’Rourke of Texas has emerged as the wild card of the presidential campaign-in-waiting for a Democratic Party that lacks a clear 2020 front-runner. After a star-making turn in his close race against Senator Ted Cruz, Mr. O’Rourke is increasingly serious

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. — Progressive Democrats are beginning to confront an unintended consequence of their own success: Dilution of the brand. So many Democratic presidential prospects are now claiming the progressive mantle in advance of the 2020 primaries that liberal leaders are trying to institute a measure of ideological quality control, designed to ensure the party ends up with a nominee who meets their exacting standards. Leaders of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are discussing policy platforms that could serve as a litmus test for presidential contenders. Progressive donors, meanwhile, are plotting steps — ranging from closer engagement with campaigns to

DAKAR, Senegal — The second-largest Ebola outbreak in history has spread to a major city in eastern Congo, as health experts worry whether the stock of an experimental vaccine will stand up to the demands of an epidemic with no end in sight. Butembo, with more than 1 million residents, is now reporting cases of the deadly hemorrhagic fever. That complicates Ebola containment work already challenged by rebel attacks elsewhere that have made tracking the virus almost impossible in some isolated villages. “We are very concerned by the epidemiological situation in the Butembo area,” said John Johnson, project coordinator

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is upset that people don’t appreciate her intelligence and depth. It turns out that people notice when she says stupid things, such as nattering on about the “three chambers of government” or not understanding that Pentagon accounting errors don’t yield a pot of money available for her pet scheme of “Medicare for all.” Preparing to become a solon in the House of Representatives is not at all like being a hot chick working her previous occupation of bartending, where pretty much anything she said was eagerly appreciated by her male customers.
