Curtains for the Clintons
New York Times, by Maureen Dowd

Original Article

Posted By:MissMolly, 12/2/2018 4:50:03 AM

TORONTO — The snow is falling lightly. My thoughts are racing darkly. I’m feeling something foreign, something I’ve never felt before. It takes me a moment to identify it. I’m feeling sorry for the Clintons. In the 27 years I’ve covered Bill and Hillary, I’ve experienced a range of emotions. They’ve dazzled me and they’ve disgusted me. But now they’re mystifying me. I’m looking around Scotiabank Arena, the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it’s a depressing sight. It’s two-for-the-price-of-one in half the arena.

Read the article.
I suppose the truth is the truth — whether it comes from a delusional writer for the Times (They Are A’ Changin’) or a rational thinker in Flyoverville.

Always clever and well received by the "in groups", she, nevertheless, doesn´t have a clue about how President Trump has saved America, given us hope, and is cleaning the swamp. Not as smart as she thinks, ´tis a pity!

The comments below Mo’s column are instructive. There actually are those smart enough to construct a paragraph who really do imagine Barry and the Clintons are “compassionate people.” It’s dumbfounding.
They should have a heart to heart with some Haitians or miners who ended up losing everything because of Barry’s White America hatred.

The end of the Arkansas Mafia is in sight. Don´t those people in that empty arena look around and wonder "whut in the Hell am I doing here?" Feeling sorry for those two tax-evading, drug dealing, money-laundering, self-serving, double-dealing, four-flushing, power hungry, money grubbing, influence pedaling, hornswaggling, sleaze-bags is the LAST thing I would be feeling if ever saw them! Fortunately I won´t ever see them because I don´t live in that swamp of creatures who´ve had friends die mysteriously.

The only rational reason for opening their geriatric freak show in Canada was to launder contributions that were sent to the Clinton Foundation canadian branch office. They can claim huge ticket sales to launder the Foundation bribes, just as the mafia used to do in pizza shop business, to launder their crime money..
The money is laundered with fake attendance figures, and the IRS is handicapped because the audit would take place in a foreign country.
This scam is not unlike Al Sharpton´s Foundation paying him 600,000 plus for his biography. Or Maxine Waters selling her endorsements to candidates, via her daughter.

Obama gave free rein to the Deep State but it should noted that the Deep State took root during the Clinton years. Bill was chasing tail and hate-filled Hillary was already taking reprisals against any and all who dared say hello to her.

I submit that the Arkansas mafia more or less decamped to the District and have been there ever since, free from scrutiny and in most cases encouraged to pursue tyranny.

The last Democrat president who showed any respect for the office was Carter, who was otherwise a failure.

Johnson? Heh. JFK? See Clinton, Bill. Truman...maybe? That was 65 yrs ago for this criminal enterprise posing as a party.

Not a bad article considering the source. But, Mo, put down the bottle before you start typing.

In one paragraph she says that it can’t be about the money, and then a couple of paragraphs later, after bashing the Clintons for their money-grubbing ways, she says that it’s not only about the money.

And no, Mo, it’s not a pity. They deserve to be shunned.

Poor Maureen. She sees the sad decline of her heroes, but still feels compelled to trash the President in the process: "After losing to an orange puffer clown fish who will go down as one of the most destructive forces in American history and flushing the Obama legacy down the drain..." The people elected Trump--as is--precisely because of what they say in the Clintons, and in Obama. Elite, arrogant, I-know-what´s-best-for-you, that´s-not-who-we-are socio-globalism was rejected. Wake up!

Maureen Dowd can write. And, sometimes, she can even think.

The Democrat journalist she quotes cannot. He actually said, "They don’t really face the complicity of what’s happened to the world...."

Complicity? You mean "complexity," moron.

Democrats. Rational thought is like a badly-learned second language to them.

MoDo is wrong. It isn´t Trump who only still cares about Bonnie and Clod, it´s their sycophants in the press. Which explains why the measly 17% of the seats filled in Scotiabank Arena were filled primarily by Jornolisters like MoDo come to once more kiss the feet of Saint Billary, and why she feels sorry for their current dismal standing rather than engaging in a nasty case of schadenfreude like most of us Americans.

As I have mentioned before, I think George Bush was a gracious and gentle man, but his unquestioning friendship with Bill Clinton, granted a man with boyish charm but also a rapist and fraudster (e.g. Clinton Foundation) is a BIG minus for me. Bill was the "brother from another mother". You can visit with such a man, and even laugh with him, but love and admire him.....naw. The Clintons hurt too many people and always have had the potential to do more.

MoDo, honey, it´s ALWAYS about the money. The vast majority of people want more with a tiny minority perfectly happy with what they have, ANd its the wealthy that typically are seeking more of it. With the Clintons, it´s not JUST about the money, but the adulation, perceived power and being the center of attention.

I dont know if the beast will or will not run again in 2020. But the second she puts the final nail in the presidential ambitions coffin, all of that adulation and money dries up. They are no longer the power couple at the center of everything and no one will care what she or he thinks.

Did they volunteer to serve homeless people Thanksgiving dinner? No! Did they visit any VA hospitals...I don´t think so. At their age, they should be grateful and try to give back.

Their lives as a whole may not need to be pitied, but it really is a pity to see any two people who have descended into such personal disarray.

Bill Clinton appears to be in the last stages of some debilitating disease - his skin is sagging, his voice is hoarse, his color is pallid, and his eyes have lost any luster. Indeed, his eyes dart here and there as though they are seeking the lost adulation that he used to command anywhere. He appears feeble and spiritless.

Mrs. Clinton is, well, Mrs. Clinton - she has really not ever been anything more than that. When her hair and makeup have not been professionally done, she appears disheveled - her hair is straggly and appears unwashed - her mouth is tight and her eyes are sunken and glum - she appears listless and unsteady.

Hillary Clinton does have a gift for speechifying in a way that makes it sound as though she is saying something profound but she isn´t. She just talks and talks. Her every venture has been a personal success but a professional failure. She has enriched only herself while holding those who she has cheated in smirking contempt. While she may smile, it is empty of any warmth and her mannerisms are rehearsed and insincere.

Hillary and Bill walk hand in hand in frail and dejected harmony now - they form a portrait of forgotten celebrity and abject loneliness. Their facial expressions show no softening or expressions of wisdom. His expression is sad and resigned - hers is one of bitter hostility.

Ah, the Clintons - yes, actually, it is a pity.

Many people are waiting for Sir Edmund to assume room temperature, especially those in the FBI and DOJ who will be implicated in helping her with Russia-Russia. When she kisses the dirt, the e-mail scandal is gone, the dossier trail is gone, the pay to play deals are shrouded, The Clinton Foundation history is broken and they don´t have to sew a custom made orange pantsuit for her. The only downside to their deaths is that Chelsea is going to inherit a heck of a lot of stolen money and Hussein can unload all of his guilt on her.

As for the money, with Hillary, Mo if you don´t know that it is always about the money you have had your head somewhere else for a very very long time. It was about the money with Whitewaterand has never been about anything else.

New York City’s annual Shakespeare in the Park is the worst kind of theater. Washington’s annual government-shutdown drama is the second-worst kind. Oddly enough, Chuck Schumer figures in both. I wrote off the alfresco performances in Central Park after the Public Theater decided that what Shakespeare’s A Winter’s Tale really needed was a political speech by Senator Schumer, who wandered onto the stage at one point — after Bill de Blasio’s campaign-rally speech but before the Muppets, if I recall that slightly surreal evening correctly — to make a few of his habitually banal political observations before shouting “Vote Democratic!”

Nancy Pelosi should be happier than she seems. The Democrats recently harvested enough votes to retake the House of Representatives, and she will again be elected Speaker of that body in January. But a lot has changed since 2011, when she last held the gavel. (Snip)And Pelosi is a dragon. No one becomes Speaker of the House without copious reserves of ruthlessness and guile. Pelosi has been cordial to Ocasio-Cortez, but won’t hesitate to incinerate her if she becomes a real nuisance. Utterly oblivious of this, the bumptious “girl from the Bronx” was so elated

In a primetime address televised on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron attempted to diffuse the ongoing populist revolt of the “yellow jacket” or “yellow vest” movement. His seemingly stiff performance and meager proposals may do little to assure the people of France that he understands the political moment. (Snip)Even worse, Macron borrowed (unwittingly, one hopes) from the Jimmy Carter songbook. “It is 40 years of malaise that is resurfacing: malaise of workers that can no longer find a place for themselves; malaise of territories, villages, neighborhoods; we see public services diminish, an environment that is disappearing; democratic malaise

´Massive power grab´: Trump EPA readies new
clean water rule to roll back Obama regulation

WASHINGTON – The Trump administration is on the verge of moving forward with a significant rollback of an Obama-era clean water regulation that has become a rallying cry for farmers and property-rights activists opposed to federal overreach. The new proposal, whose details will be unveiled Tuesday morning by EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler and other administration officials, is expected to ease government oversight of small bodies of water, undoing a regulation President Donald Trump has called "a massive power grab." The new rule would replace an Obama administration regulation, known as the "Waters of the United States" rule

The Trump administration is now on the clock to finalize one of the biggest changes to legal immigration policy in a generation, after the official comment period ended Monday on a plan to require immigrants to show they aren’t a public burden if they want to extend their visas or get on the path to citizenship. Immigrant rights groups and other Trump opponents mounted a feverish last-minute push to try to derail the proposal. They submitted tens of thousands of comments calling the plan misguided and racist and warned that it would keep needy immigrants from visiting doctors

On Monday I received an email from the Motion Picture Academy informing me that if I didn´t pay my dues, I wouldn´t be able to vote in the Oscar nominations in a couple of weeks. I debated for a few minutes. Dues have inflated since I joined in the eighties and are now a hefty $450 per annum. Nevertheless, spendthrift that I am, I bit the proverbial bullet and went for it. Call it the inability to break a bad habit. Or an addiction to the non-stop influx of screeners that arrive at my door every December,

France ‘yellow vest’ protests should be
a lesson for green activists in the US

A city on fire. Cars burnt to ashes. A national monument defaced. 10,000 tear gas canisters and stun grenades used against protestors. In one week, Paris transformed from the City of Lights into a total battle zone. It’s important to understand how we got here. A major European power was brought to its knees by a mass protest – a near revolt by its people. Even for France, these events don’t happen often. It takes major problems to cause this level of upheaval, and we should seek to understand why people would risk their lives and take to the streets.

Why Trump critics are now switching
from impeachment to indictment

Two decades ago, liberals argued that Bill Clinton should not be impeached for his tawdry affair with Monica Lewinsky because, well, his lies were just about sex. Today, some liberals are arguing that Donald Trump should be impeached because of Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal because, well, it´s not the sex, it´s the hush money. For well over a year, Trump´s critics have been banking on Robert Mueller to come up with evidence of Russian collusion, and there have been only disconnected fragments. So now —never mind! — it´s about women and money.

The Boy Scouts of America is mulling declaring bankruptcy amid flagging membership and an avalanche of costly sex abuse allegations, according to the Wall Street Journal. Leaders have hired Chicago law firm Sidley Austin for help in a potential Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, sources told the outlet. The organization has been fending off lawsuits over alleged abuse, including one filed by four former scouts who called the club a “pedophile magnet” and alleged that they were molested by scoutmaster Waldron Ackerman between 1974 and 1976. The organization has reportedly lost two-thirds of its members — some 4 million boys —

Woke 29-year-old Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went after White House Chief of Staff John Kelly yesterday. Why? She wants him to apologize to Democrat Rep. Frederica Wilson for supposedly "lying" about her to reporters.(tweet)"Cowardice." Quite a big word to use against a four-star Marine Corps general whose son was killed in Afghanistan. Wilson´s spat with Kelly came last year when she alleged President Trump disrespected a military family during a phone call. Kelly disputed her characterization and gave a briefing to the White House press corps on how the military handles casualties.

If Tuesday’s instantly famous Oval Office meeting is a harbinger of things to come, it’s going to be a long two years for “Chuck and Nancy.” Presidents can be intimidating, and Trump had home court advantage during Tuesday’s meeting. However, Chuck Schumer seemed especially outmatched by a very forceful Donald Trump. As Bill Kristol (no Trump apologist) put it: “[B]ased on what I saw of their respective performances in that Oval Office meeting today, I don’t understand why it’s Nancy Pelosi who’s facing a leadership challenge and Chuck Schumer who isn’t.” The mainstream media will focus

Two groups of migrants from Central America marched to the American consulate in Tijuana, Mexico, yesterday, with a list of demands to the Trump administration. The first group, including about 100 migrants, arrived at the consulate around 11am on Tuesday. When Professor Christine Blasey-Ford testified against the Supreme Court nomination of then-Judge Bret Kavanaugh, my very first impression was that her voice sounded fake. She sounded like a scared little girl, her voice tremulous, creating an impression of sadness and vulnerability. (snip) For the first time since her testimony, we now have the opportunity to hear her voice, and guess what? She doesn’t sound at all like the witness whose fear and suffering moved so many Democrats and feminists. She sounds like a grown-up, a professor indeed.

In her article titled “The Torture of Dressing for Your Office Holiday Party,” Weiner described the holiday season as “the least wonderful time of the year.” “Why are we having holiday parties at all?” complained Weiner to Gayle King on Monday morning. “Wouldn’t you rather have an extra $100 in your paycheck than have to put on the Spanx, put on the heels, be social with the guy with, like, the stale coffee breath

Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined forces with suburban mayors on Tuesday to call for a 20- to 30-cents-a-gallon increase in the state’s gasoline tax to bankroll sorely needed mass transit and road improvements. After that, the mayors argued that the gas tax should be increased ev ery year to match the inflation rate.At a City Hall news conference Tuesday, Emanuel argued that 24 states have raised their gas tax since 2012 alone. Meanwhile, Illinois is “stuck in neutral” with a state gas tax of 19 cents a gallon that’s been frozen since 1990 — even though federal taxes and local and state

MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski had to apologize for what some perceived to be a homophobic joke on Morning Joe Wednesday. Brzezinski called Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was “wannabe dictator’s butt-boy.” “I understand that Donald Trump doesn’t care, Heilemann makes a good point, he doesn’t care. But why doesn’t Mike Pompeo care right now?” Mika Brzezinski said of Pompeo’s response to a question about the killing of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi. EXCLUSIVE – President Trump has canceled the White House holiday party for the media, making the decades-old tradition a victim of his increasingly contentious relationship with major news organizations. The annual Christmas-season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations.
