Bill Nelson concedes hard-fought Florida

Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson conceded his contest to Republican rival Rick Scott on Sunday after a recount in the state showed him trailing by more than 10,000 votes. ´I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service. This victory would not be possible without the hard work of so many people,´ Scott said in a statement. The concession wraps up one of the most expensive Senate races of the year and ensures President Donald Trump will have a strong GOP majority in the upper chamber. What a welcome development! Surely Gov. DeSantis can make some changes that end the Broward/Palm Beach situation. It´s a shame that Florida has such corruption in such a beautiful place.

I wish Scott well as senator. Not sold on DeSantis but anything is better than Gillum aka Obola Jr.

The anti-Trump Women’s March that hit the streets the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration is now gearing up for a repeat event on January 19 in Washington, DC, but some of its founders are facing charges from former fellow activists that the left-wing group is promoting the bigotry and corruption it claims to oppose. Teresa Shook, credited as one of the women who launched the march on social media, spearheaded the criticism last month when she called on the women now running the “movement” to step down. Those women include Women’s March National co-chairwomen Carmen Perez, Bob Bland, Tamika

One of the more memorable holiday items of 2018 will probably have to be the chicken-scented yule logs from Kentucky Fried Chicken. The chicken chain restaurant launched its own KFC-scented Enviro-Logs on Thursday, claiming that once burning, the logs will smell like the Colonel’s signature blend of 11 herbs and spices, Fox News reported. (Video) And if there were any doubts about the appeal of chicken-scented fires, that was laid to rest by the response to KFC’s launch as the logs sold out within hours. Boy howdy, did those go fast! It is rare that Republicans and Democrats agree on something. But the two battling factions do see eye to eye on one thing: They are troubled by stark political divides among Americans. A Fox News poll finds that 78 percent of all U.S. voters are now either “extremely or very concerned” about the polarized nation; that includes 75 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of independents and 82 percent of Democrats. According to the poll data, only health care — which concerns 83 percent of the public — outranks political division on the national roster of worries. Tied in third place,

Who would have thought that the Super Bowl Halftime show, an American institution watched by more than 100 million people, would become the least wanted gig in music? But thanks to the ongoing controversy concerning the NFL’s stance on a player’s right to protest, brought to the forefront by football’s top conscientious objector Colin Kaepernick, Maroon 5 are learning the precarious stance that the performance represents. According to sources, the band has reached out to more than a half-dozen stars to appear as featured guests during the 13-minute slot midway through Super Bowl LIII, but so far, none have agreed

Late Friday night, the FBI released a heavily redacted Christopher Steele document that James Comey used to brief then-President elect Donald Trump and former President Obama. The document, first obtained by Politico through a FOIA lawsuit, shows the FBI describing Steele as an “FBI source” who was working for “private clients,” which is a flat out lie being that he was working for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the DNC. Republicans have long argued that the FBI relied heavily, if not solely on Christopher Steele’s uncorroborated Russia dossier to launch an investigation into the Trump campaign and went to great

Going all in on attacking President Trump isn’t proving to be a particularly effective business strategy for media outlets. The Weekly Standard will be no more. There is no real reason we are witnessing the magazine’s demise other than deep pettiness and a personal desire for bureaucratic revenge on the part of a penny-ante Machiavellian who works for its parent company. There would at least be a larger meaning to the Standard’s end if it were being killed because it was hostile to Donald Trump. But I do not believe that is the case.

The invalidation of the landmark 2010 law is certain to send shock waves through the U.S. health system and Washington after a midterm election seen in part as a rebuke to Republican efforts to tear down Obamacare.
