TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Rick Scott is poised to become U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, after the results of a hand recount showed him maintaining a 10,033 vote lead over incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson. Nelson is expected to give a statement at 3 p.m. Sunday. Unless he files suit, the results will be certified Tuesday and Scott will take his seat. After the hand recount, Scott’s lead fell by 2,570 votes.

So much for the massive recount!

Scott´s vote count fell by 2,570 votes in the manual recount. Those are the 2,000 Scott votes that Snipes said were in the building somewhere, but her co-workers took home and destroyed. That may be cynical, even suspicious sounding. I blame it on the Democrats for making me that way.

The article clearly says that the "lost" ballots did not get counted in the machine recount but makes no mention of the hand recount. It will be interesting, even if anti-climatic, to see the results of the hand count.

Until they demand another recount ... from the republican snowflakes... who will absolutely melt upon ´contact´.

How many times have they ´melted´ already?

I WILL NOT believe any of this bull crap until the republicans are in office. And even then... the left will not relent.

Finally!!

Republicans rarely win recounts, unless the lead is too great to overcome without obvious fraud. And frankly, if a recount is necessary, whats that say about the original counting?

If they recount 4 more times Nelson will pull ahead by about 200 votes. Why stop now?

Now get ironclad nationwide voter id rules in place.

Rick Scott chose not to fire Broward´s Election Guru, so if he had lost it would have been his own fault. Lets home DeSantis will make it his number one on the Agenda to clean up Broward and Palm Beach Counties. FIRE ALL who had anything to do with the election counting and start over. And for gosh sake, make sure they can read before hiring them!

They should also invest in some new voting machines in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties. No more excuses.

The narrow victories by Scott and DeSantis are a 1-2 blessing. Ditto Georgia. All these guys will have the valuable advantage of incumbency in future races. But these states are turning blue, only an incurable optimist could doubt that.

Imagine President Trump´s poll numbers, and those of Republicans in general, were news media actually reporting on the successes for which his policies have been largely responsible.

Newpapers here in NH, including the formerly great Union Leader, almost never headlines good economic numbers, but emphasized anything and everything negative. Also, they featured a couple of vicious Trump-hating columnists (George Will, being one of them). No wonder NH is almost entirely Blue, now.

Shame on the so-called MSM. They harm the nation, not just their Trump target/s. THEY are the Fifth Column.

Once again, the Republican must learn FAST how to message and how to get their message promulgated. Otherwise, the public simply WILL... NOT... KNOW.

I am hoping the new Republican Governor will do something about this but is anyone expecting Desantis to utter a word? I don’t. I hope as Senator, Rick Scott will show more courage than he did as Governor.

The Florida governor’s race is heading to a machine recount and the U.S. Senate race will face a lengthier manual recount after returns from Broward County on Thursday pushed Democrats Andrew Gillum and U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson closer to their Republican opponents Ron DeSantis and Gov. Rick Scott. At the same time, Democrat Nikki Fried took the lead over Republican Matt Caldwell by 575 votes in the race for agriculture commissioner, which is also headed to a manual recount.

The Boy Scouts of America is mulling declaring bankruptcy amid flagging membership and an avalanche of costly sex abuse allegations, according to the Wall Street Journal. Leaders have hired Chicago law firm Sidley Austin for help in a potential Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, sources told the outlet. The organization has been fending off lawsuits over alleged abuse, including one filed by four former scouts who called the club a “pedophile magnet” and alleged that they were molested by scoutmaster Waldron Ackerman between 1974 and 1976. The organization has reportedly lost two-thirds of its members — some 4 million boys —

If Tuesday’s instantly famous Oval Office meeting is a harbinger of things to come, it’s going to be a long two years for “Chuck and Nancy.” Presidents can be intimidating, and Trump had home court advantage during Tuesday’s meeting. However, Chuck Schumer seemed especially outmatched by a very forceful Donald Trump. As Bill Kristol (no Trump apologist) put it: “[B]ased on what I saw of their respective performances in that Oval Office meeting today, I don’t understand why it’s Nancy Pelosi who’s facing a leadership challenge and Chuck Schumer who isn’t.” The mainstream media will focus

Sen. Elizabeth Warren has the core of her 2020 team in place if she runs for president. She has the seed money — there’s $12.5 million ready to go, left from her recent Senate run — and a massive email list she’s amassed over years, boosted by a $3.3 million investment in digital infrastructure and advertising in the last election alone. Her aides have been quietly shopping for presidential campaign headquarters space in the Boston area in recent weeks, according to a source with knowledge of the move. All that’s left is for her to give the green light.
