Major Garrett Throws Shade on Jim

CBS White House correspondent Major Garrett says he disagrees with how CNN’s Jim Acosta conducted himself in last week’s explosive tete-a-tete with President Trump. Garrett spoke to Mediaite alum Larry O’Connor for his radio show on Friday, where he lamented the situation over CNN’s lawsuit against the Trump Administration for their revocation of Acosta’s press credentials. Garrett said he isn’t sure the White House will succeed in court with their legal argument their making against Acosta, though the lawsuit is “uncharted territory” in many ways and presents the judiciary with many new questions about press freedom. The court has since

Insults the intelligence when CNN tries (and succeeded, apparently) to make this about freedom of the press and free speech. It is about disruption of a WH event, about willfully breaking behavior rules that we all learned in kindergarten, about almost assaulting a WH aide.

Apparently CNN has no shame. If they had any integrity at all, they would have fired Acosta long ago.

The only reason Garrett is dissing Acosta is because his own ox got gored by Acosta´s stealing time away from other reporters at the briefing.

The President is no fool. He understands that when Acosta “wins” the others lose. New rules. And PDJT has publicly announced his intention to excuse himself from any presser where anyone pulls an Acosta. Then leave the miscreant to the ire of his peers. Garrett leads the way already…

Acosta has 14 days with his returned pass. That is what the judge’s ruling, based upon the absence of due process in removing his pass rather than Acosta’s misbehaving actions. We’ll see what comes next.

Will Major Garrett and his fellow journalists escort the bum out, or applaud?

It’s nice to hear the words “Merry Christmas” again. President Trump congratulated his beautiful wife, First Lady Melania Trump, last night for the magnificent Christmas decorations this year at the Trump White House. (Video/Tweet) Democrats attacked Melania Trump in November after she unveiled her beautiful Christmas decorations. Déjà-vu all over again. I have always admired that mot attributed to the philosopher Yogi Berra. And I think that if you look around at the latest episodes in the long-running, off-off Broadway entertainment “Get Trump” you’ll like it too. After all, this last week or so brought a veritable tsunami of déjà-vuable moments. I suppose the central event was the sentencing of the President’s former lawyer Michael Cohen to three years in prison for . . . for what? One of the more memorable holiday items of 2018 will probably have to be the chicken-scented yule logs from Kentucky Fried Chicken. The chicken chain restaurant launched its own KFC-scented Enviro-Logs on Thursday, claiming that once burning, the logs will smell like the Colonel’s signature blend of 11 herbs and spices, Fox News reported. It is rare that Republicans and Democrats agree on something. But the two battling factions do see eye to eye on one thing: They are troubled by stark political divides among Americans. A Fox News poll finds that 78 percent of all U.S. voters are now either “extremely or very concerned” about the polarized nation; that includes 75 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of independents and 82 percent of Democrats. According to the poll data, only health care — which concerns 83 percent of the public — outranks political division on the national roster of worries. Tied in third place,

The Weekly Standard will be no more. There is no real reason we are witnessing the magazine’s demise other than deep pettiness and a personal desire for bureaucratic revenge on the part of a penny-ante Machiavellian who works for its parent company. There would at least be a larger meaning to the Standard’s end if it were being killed because it was hostile to Donald Trump. But I do not believe that is the case.

Whatever the purported lovebirds texted each other and others during the tumultuous period, the SCO thought it was not worth scrutiny by outsiders not on the team. Given the scandalous earlier texts between the two released by the OIG, this claim is so arrogant that it would be laughable, but for the profound implications
