Pete Gust took a picture of his son and about 60 other high school senior boys on the steps outside the Sauk County Courthouse in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He told them to wave to their parents. Then he posted the photo online. Nazi Salute! Jules Suzdaltsev of Vice Media declared. (Tweet)And now the police are investigating, the high school is investigating, and the father who took the photo is apologizing.(Snip)The boys have joined the Duke lacrosse team and Brett Kavanaugh´s boofing brothers in being unfairly maligned.

OP Comment: Those of us who have seen a real Nazi salute - rigid straight arm extended almost horizontally, palm down, knew immediately that these boys were not performing the Nazi salute. Nor was it the black power salute with the arm straight up, fist clenched. (No mention of that move.). It was just a wave.

The kid who didn´t participate in the "Nazi salute," and who later trashed his classmates had been named Sauk County´s "Fairest of the Fair." FWIW.

The thing about the kid who did not participate is which one of the guys who did not put their hands up is he?

I count three people in that photo whose hands are by their sides. and I am pretty sure that there are three or four more but I do not have a large enough copy of the photo to be sure.

I went to Mass in Deltona Florida last week. In attendance was a black woman who was going to have major surgery that week. At the end of the Mass, the celebrant offered prayers of protection and healing, and asked all the congregation to raise their arms, as occurs in many prayers of healing. They looked like nazi salutes. Does that make us all Hittlerites?

The people that take offense are thorobred tools.

Well, one of the boys who wasn’t doing the so-called “Nazi” salute had one hand on his crotch instead (a la Michael Jackson).

I simply did not identify their arm gestures as Nazi-related, and I still don’t. This episode is right on up there with the “white supremacist” hand signal that some paranoid snowflakes claimed to see in photos of conservatives. By the way, I had to look up the alleged white supremacist hand signal, as I had no idea such a thing existed. But then I am not even acquainted with a white supremacist at all. Some liberals apparently believe that white persons spend their days obsessing about race.

Justice Department careerists, led by special counsel Robert Mueller and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, have now served notice that they are targeting the presidency of Donald J. Trump. Not over his behavior regarding Russians,(Snip)No, prosecutors are seeking to criminalize Trump’s extracurricular activities with American women, two in particular: Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal. This would be laughable if people weren’t going to prison as a result, not to mention its subversion of democratic self-government. If it succeeds in driving Trump from office, it will set not merely a grim precedent for future elections.

Well, well, well. This is likely to be quickly brushed under the proverbial rug. If you have followed the case against SSCI Security Director James Wolfe you will note the original indictment against him outlined, obliquely, how Wolfe took custody of the Carter Page FISA application and then leaked it to his concubine at Buzzfeed Ms. Ali Watkins. The leak of the FISA application was a rather explosive issue not readily identified when Wolfe’s indictment was first presented (June ’18). It was only possible to connect the dots after the FISA application was released

It is hard to believe this was written a year ago; time flies. However, we are repeating a FISA-702 explanation thread below because as the year has evolved; and understanding FISA-702 process abuse is now the specific focus of Inspector General Michael Horowitz; there is an aspect to the FISA-gate story that must be expanded. The United States intelligence community, writ large, will likely never allow the structural abuse of the FISA-702 system by the Obama administration to surface. The Weekly Standard, a 28-year old neoconservative institution, is reportedly headed towards dissolution after its founder, Bill Kristol, devoted almost three years of work to attacking the President and his supporters. There is no real reason we are witnessing the magazine’s demise other than deep pettiness and a personal desire for bureaucratic revenge on the part of a penny-ante Machiavellian who works for its parent company. There would at least be a larger meaning to the Standard’s end if it were being killed because it was hostile to Donald Trump. But I do not believe that is the case.

The most legally fraught part of the Russian “collusion” probe now revolves around payments to an American porn star. As of yet, instead of a dastardly scheme to participate with the Kremlin in the hacking of Democratic emails to subvert the election, prosecutors have uncovered a dastardly scheme to try to keep from the voters — as if they weren’t already aware — that Trump is a womanizer. The advantage of the story of the hush payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal is that they actually happened, and always passed the plausibility test. To credit the payoffs
