Kansas Governor-Elect Wants to Block Law
Protecting Religious Adoption Agencies

Cybercast News, by Emily Ward

Original Article

The governor-elect of Kansas, Laura Kelly, said in a news conference on Thursday, Nov. 8 that she will try to block enforcement of a new law that protects religious adoption agencies from being forced to place children in homes that violate their beliefs. The Adoption Protection Act, which took effect in July, allows adoption agencies with “sincerely held” religious beliefs to refuse to place children in LGBTQ homes. According to the Associated Press, Kelly, who has called the law the “adoption discrimination” measure, “said she will have her staff review how far the state can go to avoid enforcing the law.” “If there

How will Kelly take her oath of office, which includes upholding the laws of Kansas, if she openly states she will avoid enforcing a law she doesn’t like? Will there be a warning before the oaths of office are sworn to that neither she nor her AG will take with their respective oaths seriously?

Kansans have a short memory. Don’t they remember the last time they had a Democrat governor—Kathleen Sibelius? Now this new Democrat comes in and is already starting trouble. When will voters realize that Democrats are natural screw ups and that everything they touch turns to dung.

Massachusetts tried to force religious adoption agencies to place children in such inappropriate homes. They succeeded in forcing those agencies to shut down, which was their real goal. Of course, the fact that the children of Massachusetts are worse off as a result is merely necessary collateral damage.

For those out of KS, wondering "What´s wrong with KS?", and imagining a solidly conservative state. Sorry, not the case.

Wichita is a huge aerospace center, and a large number of the folks that work there are not from Kansas, hired in from out of state, a lot from Cali and East Coast - with their leftist views.
Before we got state preemption laws on gun laws, Wichita was VERY heavy on gun control, liberals abound.

And Lawrence, Univ of KS, very liberal, and Manhattan, Kansas State, very liberal.

And in eastern KS, south of KC, the suburbs have been hip deep in RINOs for decades. More big companies moving here all the time, and bringing in outsiders with East Coast and Left Coast politics.

Outside of KC suburbs, Wichita, Lawrence and Manhattan - KS is very reliably conservative, and very thinly populated. Topeka is fairly conservative, pretty much the only larger city in the state which is.

Even our "Republican" governors in the last 30 years have been reliably left of center other than Gov. Brownback.

Several former Repub governors and a retired Repub Senator came out publicly for the Dem for governor. Kobach, a solid, principled conservative, scared the hell out of them.

RINOs, indeed.

Federal judge in Texas strikes

A federal judge in Texas struck down the Affordable Care Act on Friday night, ruling that former President Barack Obama´s signature domestic legislation has fallen down like a losing game of "Jenga." But the White House said that with the ruling expected to be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, the law will remain in place for now. U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor in Fort Worth sided with the argument put forward by a coalition of Republican-leaning states, led by Texas, that Obamacare could no longer stand now that there´s no penalty for Americans who don´t buy insurance.

Donald Trump´s suffocating presence

Another day, another avalanche of news about the President: berating Democratic leaders on camera; unceremoniously announcing the departure of his chief of staff; calling his former Secretary of State “dumb as a rock.” It never lets up. Trump is a ubiquitous, suffocating presence in American life. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. The modern presidency is the framers’ worst nightmare, a flatly unconstitutional concentration of power. As the Trump era has made abundantly clear, the office itself — its size, scope, and prominence in American life — is the driving force of dysfunction in our politics.

A deal in which President Trump accepts an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in exchange for minor border wall funding would be counterproductive to the “America First” goals of the administration, depressing U.S. wages in the process ahead of the 2020 election. As Breitbart News has extensively chronicled, Attorney General Jeff Sessions ended the DACA program last year, although it’s official termination has been held up in court by left-wing judges.
