Melania Trump hasn´t even arrived in France yet, but the first lady is already upping her style game before meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte. The 48-year-old donned a $2,695 Burberry black and white plaid trench coat and knee-high $1,295 Christian Louboutin boots as she and her husband, President Donald Trump, boarded Marine One on the South Lawn of the White House on Friday morning. The couple is headed to Paris to meet with world leaders and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11. (Photos/Video) The first lady and

Considering Brigitte Macron dresses like she´s still in junior high, Melania will outshine her by far.

Love both coats---and love the long kid gloves. It is irrelevant to me how much her clothing costs. I love the photos of smiles---I believe this dear lady has a warm, generous spirit.

The work ethic of this President amazes me.

Meanwhile, I do wish Mrs. Macron would lengthen her skirts. When I was a child whether or not to wear shorts was a big issue. I asked my grandmother (born in 1881) if she thought wearing shorts was sinful. (It was about 1957.) This realistic dear lady answered that if I wore shorts I´d "look as good as the rest of them," but there came a time when a girl´s knees were no longer pretty. And at that point, she said, they should be covered up. I was about seven years old, and I´ve followed her opinion about arms, legs, etc., to this day. (She, of course, never even wore slacks, much less shorts.)

The Statue of Liberty lost her torch Thursday, but it´s been a long time coming. Lady Liberty, a gift from the French that was put up in the harbor of New York City in 1886, had her original 3,600-pound gold torch taken down in 1984 and replaced with a new one while the other one was supposed to be cleaned after 100 years of wear and tear. However, National Park Service and Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island officials found the original had been damaged too severely to repair and ruled it would be best not going back into the statue´s right

The presidential campaign clock may be ticking, but Bernie Sanders insists it doesn’t rattle him.“I am here in northern Vermont, and people just went through six months of an election, and they are not all that happy to get into another election,” the newly reelected Vermont senator said in his characteristically brusque manner when asked about deciding on a presidential bid. “The media has pushed this country into never-ending campaigns. We can all take a deep breath.” That unworried attitude belies the intense pressure on Sanders and the rest of the horde of potential Democratic contenders to move swiftly. Privately, some

The Detroit School Board voted Wednesday to open consideration into whether a handful of DPS schools should have their "offensive" names changed — including Benjamin Carson High School of Science and Medicine, named for former presidential candidate, accomplished surgeon, and Housing and Urban Development director, Dr. Ben Carson. The board will seek comment over the next several months on whether to change Carson High, which was named for Dr. Ben Carson before he became active in politics, and well before he became an ally of President Donald Trump, something the Detroit School Board apparently doesn´t appreciate.
