Biggest Loser: Elizabeth Warren
Wall Street Journal, by Kimberley A. Strassel

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/9/2018 7:24:34 AM

Tuesday’s midterms served up mixed results, handing both parties big wins and big losses. It will take some time to sort out what it means. Yet the evening did nonetheless provide one total, complete, unalloyed loser: Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. For a decade Ms. Warren, 69, has been busy trying to remake Washington in her progressive image. Her role in creating a new financial regulatory apparatus gave her outsize influence over the bureaucracy. Her successful 2012 Senate bid gave her a megaphone to rail against “billionaires, bigots and Wall Street bankers”—and Donald Trump.

Comments:
I really enjoyed watching pompous, arrogant Richard Cordray going down.

I hope you are right. The primary debates should be fun to watch as the Progressives tear each other apart.

Her visit to Ohio in support of Cordray was tone-deaf. Cordray has no chops to be a governor, and has all the baggage of the failed governorship he served. Running as a likeable moderate in a state that is 50% deplorable, he had a shot at winning. Enter the Indian princess a week before the election, shining her light on the far left positions she espouses and by inference Cordray supports, with all of her honesty issues, and a number of d-center voters went r.

What´s funny about the progressives losing is that they are not going to go quietly. These folks are the hard Left and the most vocal and obnoxious in the party. Their funding is coming from many of the millionaire leftists pushing ideas that the voters, even dem voters, mostly are not interested in.

So if progressives lost, what part of the dem party won? Middle of the road candidates? There are no more of those. Dem candidates won in areas that voters are primarily dems and will not vote for Republicans, period. Yet all the dem leadership is rabid. They are not going to win hearts and minds in areas of the country that are battlegrounds.

Will the progressives force a progressive candidate onto the 2020 election? Will voters force a Hillary or Biden into the position? The dem party is seriously split and they don´t seem to be able to do anything to resolve that.

I hope I make it to 2020. That is adding up to a very entertaining election period.
Hillary or Biden? Mercy!
Trump could stay home and still beat their pants off.

The allure of San Antonio’s Castro brothers has been building for years and their status as the crown princes of a new era of Texas Hispanic politics is now well established. As one longtime Democratic consultant said, they have successfully established themselves as the next generation of leadership in Texas, with an Ivy League pedigree and reputation for strategic thinking. But something happened this election cycle: Beto O’Rourke. As the Democratic consultant said, “Julián and his brother are like Bing Crosby and Perry Como—who just saw Elvis.”

Republican Rep. Mia Love sued to halt vote counting in the Utah race where she is trailing her Democratic challenger by a razor-thin margin, saying her campaign must be allowed to issue challenges if they dispute the validity of mail-in ballots. In a contest where "every single vote is crucial," the Love campaign claimed poll-watchers have seen a few cases where voter signatures on ballots accepted by election workers did not appear to match those on file in Democratic-leaning Salt Lake County.

Political consultant Mark Penn wrote in the Wall Street Journal that Hillary Clinton not only will run for president again, but will prevail. (Snip). She has never won a competitive race in her life, and odds are that she never will. Hillary Clinton has two talents as a candidate. If she has any legacy, it is that she helped push her husband as president and her party to embrace the wine-track voters.

WHAT: A seventeen-mile journey for a snake that accidentally ended up in a Goodwill donations facility. WHO: Austin Pair, a 22-year-old Keller resident, and Toki, his three-foot red-tailed boa constrictor. WHY IT’S SO GREAT: On November 1, a Goodwill employee sorting donations at the organization’s center in Fort Worth got an unusual surprise: a large snake that she identified as a python. (It was actually an albino red-tailed boa constrictor, but we don’t expect everyone to be herpetologists.) Amid the violations of law by Broward and Palm Beach County elections officials, the data provides apparent good news for Republicans. First, despite the national media´s typical laziness and derelictions, the local press has largely been assiduous and conscientious -- certain framing aside. Second, core concerns raised by leading Republicans (some of which were rhetorically overblown) have been validated by multiple judges. The ineptitude and misconduct has not gone unnoticed. Third, in spite of Democratic lawyers´ best efforts, Republican leads in key races are likely insurmountable. National Review´s Charles C.W. Cooke

The Republican Party lost its House majority on July 28, 2017, when Sen. John McCain ended the party’s seven-year quest to repeal ObamaCare. House leadership had done an admirable job herding cats. On the second try, we passed the American Health Care Act in May. Then McCain’s inscrutable vote against the Senate’s “skinny repeal” killed the reform effort. McCain’s last-minute decision prompted a “green wave” of liberal special-interest money, which was used to propagate false claims that the House plan “gutted coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.” That line was the Democrats’ most potent attack

Amid the inevitable outrage fest touched off by the election results, hardcore partisans on the left solidified around one particular angry narrative: If and when Democrats lose, it is because white women remain insufficiently woke. The Usual Suspects crafted this argument around exit polls of the Senate race in Texas, which revealed that white women broke for Republican incumbent Ted Cruz by a significant margin — 60 percent cast ballots for him rather than for Robert Francis O’Rourke (“Beto” to you), who received just 39 percent of their support. CHICAGO — To read the worshipful press coverage you’d never know that, for Democrats, the unthinkable has happened: Michelle Obama has revealed herself as just another guru for sale. On Tuesday night, the former first lady kicked off her 10-city North American book tour, which more closely resembled a cult-of-personality-propaganda-rally, at the United Center in Chicago. (Dates have been added in London, where scalped tickets are going for over $90,000 each, and Paris.) A sliver of the 20,000 seats available for the Chicago event were priced at $29.50, and those sold out within five minutes of going on sale in September.
