San Francisco voters passed Proposition C yesterday with a 60% majority, Recode reports. The proposition establishes a tax between 0.175% and 0.69% on the gross income of businesses reporting over $50 million in annual turnover, along with a 1.5% payroll tax for certain companies with $1 billion in turnover to fund housing and homeless services. The city predicts it will generate between $250 million and $300 million to help needy causes. You have to love big government--especially when you can vote to have someone else pay the taxes to support it.

Some people never learn.
Oakland CA used to be the corporate center of the world. Multinationals called Oakland home.
Then they came up with a ´unitary tax´ and Clorox, Safeway, and hundreds of other fled Oakland, forever changing it from an economic powerhouse to briefly being the most dangerous city in America.
The problem of the millions flooding across the borders without skills or motivation is difficult to solve, and their is nothing SF or CA can do to convince Trump that it should end anymore than could be done with Soetoro.
However, this plan will fail.
In the end we will likely have to oppose the open borders directly and force Trump to choose between a military engagement against citizens or foreigners. As we were in process of doing with Soetoro.

Surely they won´t forget those deep pockets of Pelosi and Feinstein, right?

If they had a brain they could study the destruction of one of the richest countries in our own backyard, Venezuela.

Jealousy and envy, arm in arm with anger and hatred: a volatile mix, deadly poison.

Not to worry "if you like your corporations and their jobs you will be able to keep your corporations and their jobs". No one is going to leave, no no no why would anyone leave just over a few hundred million bucks? Hey did those yacht purchasers leave over a few thousand? Oh wait..... People who actually made their money really don´t like handing it over to thieves who didn´t. Let me put it this way, "YOU did not build that; the owner of the company actually did."

People on this board naturally think that it is a good thing for a city to have a thriving business base. But the children who voted for this tax would like to see businesses leave the region. They blame the high-tech boom for sky-high real estate prices (and not without some justification), which in turn has (in their thinking) gentrified the city and exacerbated homelessness.

By the way, the writer calls it a "turnover" tax, which seems a little ambiguous to me, it´s officially called a "gross receipts" tax.

The Demon-RATs know EXACTLY what they are doing!!!

They own California!!! So they are going to make it as business un-friendly as possible. Businesses will shut down or leave. This will cause a LOT of Californians (who are sadly LIE-berals who voted for "leaders" who did this to them) to move to other states where there are jobs and good economies. ALL of those states are Republican-run states. When these LIE-beral employees move there, they will continue to vote for Demon-RATs, which will then destroy those states´ economies just like they did in California!!!

I call it the LOCUST EFFECT!!!! Locusts swarm a nice lush field, eat everything in sight within minutes, leave the field destroyed, and move on to the next nice lush field. Locusts do not stop until they run out of nice lush fields to destroy. Then they all die.

Welcome to the LIE-beral future of America!!!!!

On Friday morning, the snow from an early winter storm started to melt, and people in and around New York City wanted answers from their government officials. But on Thursday night, they were just trying to get home. The region was crippled by snow and ice, with the effects ranging from felled tree branches in city neighborhoods to children trapped on school buses for hours. In New Jersey, one person died after an accident involving a train and a car, said Gov. Philip D. Murphy. As residents recovered and demanded an explanation, The Times asked readers to share their experiences.

New Jersey Rep. WASHINGTON - President Trump plans to visit California on Saturday “to meet with individuals impacted by the wildfires,” a spokeswoman said on Thursday. The White House has not yet given details on where Trump will go, what he will do and whom he plans to visit. During visits to other natural disaster sites, Trump has focused on meeting with first responders and public officials, and has had less direct contact with victims than his predecessors. This will be just Trump’s second visit to the nation’s most populous state since his election. His first California visit, which he made in March

TALLAHASSEE - Nine days after Election Day, and one machine recount later, it is all but official: Ron DeSantis is Florida’s next governor. The results of the statewide machine recount which rolled by the Thursday 3 p.m. deadline, solidified what most already knew, as DeSantis has already made himself busy with transitioning to power and creating a new government. In the governor’s race, it was an anticlimactic finish to the dramatic machine recount — plagued with technical issues and an avalanche of lawsuits — with almost not change in the margin between DeSantis and his Democratic opponent, Andrew Gillum

The anti-Pelosi insurgents are coalescing around a new strategy in their quest to deny Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) the Speaker´s gavel: recruit a woman to run against her. The shift in approach comes as the rebellious group has been faced with a barrage of criticism for trying to take down Pelosi, who became the first female Speaker of the House in 2007, on the heels of an election cycle being dubbed the "Year of the Woman." Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.), one Pelosi detractor, hammered the argument that the California Democrat´s promotion is the only way to secure female leadership at
