Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said Thursday that the U.S. is on the "verge" of a constitutional crisis because of the forced resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. "I think it’s a big mistake to let Sessions go," Manchin, who was the only Democratic senator to vote to confirm the former attorney general, said on "CBS This Morning." He added that the U.S. is on the verge of a crisis because of the potential ramifications his ouster could have on special counsel Robert Mueller´s investigation into Russian election interference. His comments came just a day after Sessions formally resigned from his role at the

Why? Presidents never fired their Attorneys General before?

It´s not a high crime or misdemeanor to fire and hire a Cabinet appointee. Mueller is still working.

No we´re not.
The only crisis, is the one the voters are feeling after voting for you. And seeing so quickly after the election, you´re the Trojan Horse Judas all the rest of us knew you are.
I´d say you´re a weasel, but I don´t mean to insult the real weasels.

Where in the Constitution does it say that a President can´t replace (Sessions resigned, albeit at Trump´s request) a Cabinet member? Where in the Constitution does it provide for a "Special Counsel" who can conduct wide-raging investigations of the President? Where does the Constitution make the Justice Department a separate branch of government? This has nothing to do with the Constitution. It only has to do with the Democrats wanting a biased investigation of Trump.

#13, I heard that West Virginians like to have someone who is a KNOWN person in the Senate who can bring home the bacon, so they feel he will carry some weight on that end.

However, Joe´s vote won´t mean as much now that the Senate looks a bit further center-right than it did a few days ago, come January.

They cite Johnson´s impeachment for canning Stanton; Stanton wanted to ´punish,´ exploit the South after their capitulation. This was counter to Lincoln´s wishes at the end of the war.

There are two problems with their claim:
1. Sessions resigned voluntarily; Stanton did not.
2. Johnson was not convicted.

That´s my understanding. Manchin´s just blowing off steam and reassuring his masters that he´s on their side. They´ll make him pay for his Kavanaugh vote; this probably won´t satisfy them.

I am not buying that there wasn´t enough voters in WV to not re-elect Manchin. Trump won by over 40 points so that argument is utterly foolish. Here is the reason why Manchin won: gov´t handouts among the poor in West Virginia. It is all about receiving gov´t checks - from healthcare, social security to just outright welfare. People who receive gov´t checks know where their bread is buttered. Being a preacher, I see people all the time who think the church is simply their ATM to pay their bills - and, its far worse among the populace towards gov´t and Mr. Manchin is their connection to the gov´t gravy train!

Manchin either has severe memory problems or is counting on others´ cluelessness -- it´s almost convention for a President to perform a cull after midterms (and another one after reelection). Not to mention that the AG always serves at the pleasure of the President, no matter who holds those positions or when.

Manchin just reinforced a lot of unfair WVA stereotypes by uttering what is either deluded or downright dishonest. But that´s about par for the course for Democrats and their collaborators in the enemedia in recent decades...

There are two issues involved with the Mueller investigation, did the Russians interfere in the 2016 election, and did President Trump “collude” with the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.

There is no controversy that the Russians did use the internet in a minor way to do what they thought was in Russia’s interest by inserting misleading or false information relating to the election on the internet. There is no proof that the Russians were able to change any votes.

The Democrat interest is not with the Russians, but with using the “collusion” claim that was created by the Hillary Clinton to harass President Trump indefinitely by claiming, without any proof, that Trump somehow “colluded” with the Russians using a storyline that the Clinton campaign invented.

One thing is for sure, as long as there is an internet, and as long as Russia and other countries adverse to the USA are out there, those countries will try to influence anything that they can, including US elections, by posting misleading or false information on the internet. The Democrats had better get used to that.

If anyone were to look they would fine that the principle foreign country that actually interfered in the US election was Mexico, in behalf of the millions of Mexicans who are in the USA illegally. As Mexico would love to have ten million of more additional Mexicans being able to vote in US elections. Mexico knows that if the USA gives those Mexicans an official paper saying they they are given US citizenship, that in reality all would continue to consider themselves as Mexicans, who would be influenced by Mexican interests to vote in the national interest of Mexico.

The New York Times has never been a big fan of Israel, or non-assimilated and non-leftist Jews for that matter. But it’s hard to escape the impression that the Times has decided to intensify its hostile stance towards Israel, Israeli Jews, and American Jews who support Israel. These efforts take two forms. First, the Times whitewashes Israel’s enemies. Last month, the paper published a paean to Hezbollah, Iran’s Lebanese terror army, which controls Lebanon and remains the most powerful and dangerous terror organization in the world. In an article ostensibly about Christmas celebrations in Beirut, the paper singled out Hezbollah for praise for

Support for President Trump´s wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is at an all-time high weeks into a partial government shutdown which began over a border security dispute for funding. According to the results of an ABC News and Washington Post poll released Sunday morning, 42 percent of Americans support a wall. That is up from 34 percent one year ago and a previous high of 37 percent in 2017. With 54 percent, the majority poll still oppose building a border wall. Fertility rates for white women were down in every US state in 2017 - below the rate needed for the population to replace itself, a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals. However, among black and Hispanic women, fertility rates were up in 12 and 29 states, respectively. When researchers looked at fertility rates for women of all age groups and races, they found that the nationwide rate was 16 percent lower than what is considered the level for a population to replace itself. On Tuesday night, President Trump will deliver a prime-time address to the nation “on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern border.” It will be his first big address from the Oval Office, a signal that the president recognizes, at least on this issue, that to succeed he must reach beyond his base to rally the American people. He further promises to travel to the border Thursday to “meet with those on the front lines.” The Oval Office speech and trip to the border suggest the stakes are rising as the government shutdown is now in its third week.

The leader of the Russian Orthodox Church has said that humans’ dependence on modern technology will result in the coming of the Antichrist. In an interview with Russian state media, Patriarch Kirill explained he does not entirely oppose gadgets, but warned against “falling into slavery” to smartphones. Patriarch Kirill said that the collection of user data including “location, interests and fears” will make it possible for humans to be controlled by external forces. “Control from a single point is a harbinger of the coming of the Antichrist,” Kirill told the state-run Rossia-1 TV network on Orthodox Christmas Monday.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., declined on Friday to condemn Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., for calling President Trump a "mother*" who would soon be impeached. When reporters pressed her on whether Democrats should condemn Tlaib´s comment, Warren said only that Democrats need to wait until special counsel Robert Mueller issues his full report on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. "I think it is absolutely essential that we protect the Mueller investigation," Warren said. "The special prosecutor has already produced more than two-dozen indictments or guilty pleas. Our job in Congress is to protect that investigation and we need bipartisan

Has President Trump suckered Democrats and the Deep State into a trap that will enable a radical downsizing of the federal bureaucracy? In only 5 more days of the already-“longest government shutdown in history” (25 days and counting, as of today), a heretofore obscure threshold will be reached, enabling permanent layoffs of bureaucrats furloughed 30 days or more. Don’t believe me that federal bureaucrats can be laid off? Well, in bureaucratese, a layoff is called a RIF – a Reduction in Force (snip) if the guidelines are followed, bureaucrats can be laid off -- as in no more job

Gillette´s new ad, browbeating men through a #MeToo and "toxic masculinity" pitch, supposedly to persuade men to buy their razors, is so revolting it´s possible to think it´s satire. There is also a 30-second version, which doesn´t even seem to be about selling razors: Seriously, did a spy from Schick get into the Procter & Gamble´s advertising agency and concoct an ad very sure to turn potential customers off? Who would want to buy that after such a string of insults? Isn´t ad rule number one to not insult the customer? Well, this one does.

In recent days, many online essays have rightly ripped apart Gillette´s ugly new "We Believe" advertisement. One online critic dubbed it "feel-bad liberalism." (snip) "I guess the guy at the ad agency missed the lesson about not taking a dump on the people you want to buy your stuff," cracked comedian Steven Crowder. "The guy at the ad agency" is actually philosophically unpleasant feminist Kim Gehrig. Hiring her to court the male market is like expecting to accrue impressive rainbow flag sale numbers with spiels from Farrakhan.

Rep. A stench has been emanating from the J. Edgar Hoover Building (FBI headquarters) for over two years. It landed Saturday on the front page of the New York Times in an article citing “former law enforcement officials” claiming they had to deal with “explosive implications” that President Donald Trump was “knowingly” or “unwittingly” working for Russia. Thus, the story goes, there was a basis to begin the Russia collusion investigation. In fact, “The Gray Lady” was covering the derrieres of the Obama administration officials involved in the cabal to frame Trump, who now fear an imminent Special Counsel finding that

Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday asked President Donald Trump to reschedule his State of the Union address — or deliver it in writing — as long as the government remains shut down. "Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Trump.

Are you a man? That is to say, are you a genetic male who also happens to identify as a "man," for some increasingly antiquated reason? If so, are you under the mistaken impression that you´re not a rapist? Our society has come a long way in shaming men for behaving in any way that anybody anywhere doesn´t like, and reminding men that we´re all complicit even if we don´t behave that way. But it´s not nearly enough. The mere fact of maleness is shameful and problematic. Men and boys everywhere need

A family dubbed Britain’s "first transgender family" has announced that they are encouraging the gender transition of their five-year-old son, Jayden. According to the family, Jayden, a biological male, likes dresses and hates "everything about being a boy." The little boy´s "step-dad," Greg Rogers, is a 27-year-old biological female who now identifies as a male. The child’s mother is a 21-year-old woman named Jody. Both Jodi and Greg are furious that concerned citizens (referred to as “trolls” by many U.K.-based outlets) have reported them to social services for apparent child abuse. The couple, however, maintain Jayden — who is on

The Fight for $15 isn’t living up to its promise. For years, liberals have claimed that the minimum wage needs to increase to $15 an hour to provide a living wage for full-time workers. The stated goal, as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders writes on his website, is straightforward, “We must ensure that no full-time worker lives in poverty.” In one way, the campaign has been remarkably successful. California and New York are phasing in a statewide $15 an hour minimum wage. Numerous cities, including Seattle, Minneapolis and Washington D.C., have passed $15 an hour minimum wage

For the last 35 years, the snowpack in the West’s mountains has resisted the impacts of global warming. But that could soon change, according to a new study out of Oregon State University. The study, published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, found that although climate change should have caused a steep decrease in snowpack, naturally occurring, decades-long weather variations shielded the Cascades, Sierras and Rockies from some of the effects. Although snow stations have recorded some decline, it hasn’t been statistically significant. But according to the study, without this natural weather variation, snowpack in Oregon could have declined
