Democrats won the House,
but Trump won the election

Washington Post, by Ed Rogers

Original Article

While Tuesday night was not a complete win for Republicans, there was no blue wave, either. By most measures, Republicans beat the odds of history and nearly everyone’s expectations, while Democrats were left disappointed as the fantasy of Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Gillum, Stacey Abrams and others winning fizzled. (Snip)Let the message be clear: Voters had a chance to repudiate Trump and they did not. Much of the commentariat has said this year’s elections are about who we are as a country and what America is all about. Well, a lot of America seems to be about supporting Trump.

Dem´s won the House because.... say what you want about Pelosi, she knows how to raise money for her party. While Paul Ryan aka Eddie Munster is just biding his time for probably a new job as a lobbyist. He could care less about his Party, and he never liked Trump. Batten down the hatches we now have to deal with Mitt Romney aka Willard who is a jealous soul who lost his bid for Presidency twice and has it in for Trump. This is a continuation of McCain. He is already tweeting comments about the resignation of Sessions, he just can´t wait.

Ronald Reagan lost about the same number of House seats after his first two years and then won 49 states two years later when the Dems nominated a nut job to run against him. History repeating itself?

Obummer had the House for only his first two years, and then did whatever he jolly well felt like. So will Trump. And trump will respond to subpoenas the same way Eric Holder did. Namely ignore them.

Plus it will be fun watching the old nut job Dems try and control the younger, even nuttier, Dems.

Losing control of the House came as no surprise. Having 45 republican representatives leave during the same election cycle was too big of a hole to fill. If true that most of them left because they didn´t like the President, or were fearful of the expected election results, or allowed themselves to be bullied by the left and the msm into leaving, this left the door wide open for the "hate Trump" crowd to take over the conversation as the left sought to fill the void.

While Paul Ryan has responsibility for not pushing himself and his caucus to stand with the President, each of the representatives who left had every opportunity to diss themselves from Ryan and to stand up and support the President. But, they chose not to.

Look at it this way. Rather than the President only having his accomplishments to campaign on for 2020, the dims just handed him a pretty good battle cry that will get him re-elected - look what those House dims just did to the country given their corruption and evil behavior.

There were many far-reaching affects of OUTSIDE money that was pumped into the Texas race for Robert Francis O´Rourke, and that was that down ballot judicial races were flipped from republicans (read: Constitutionalists) to demonrat.

Over two dozens Courts of Appeals races were lost in very thin margins.

Everyone´s attention was on the national races and especially upon the race between Senator Ted Cruz and O´Rourke. The massive amounts of money dumped into his campaign from OUTSIDE Texas wasn´t just the focus of the Senate campaign.

As much as the focus was on the national stage, the state races were affected by the numbers of people who might not ever have voted except for the influence brought to bear by the glowing media propaganda campaign made possible by all of the OUT OF STATE to influence the election.

It was obvious that "Beto" really had no chance and they KNEW it all along, but damn, he sure came close.

IMHO, this was nothing but a test run and trial balloon to see just how far away the demonrat socialists are from being able to turn Texas in a presidential run for O´Rourke, who is STILL truly an unknown by design.

The more generic and and ´likable´ a personality can be pumped up WITHOUT having to own up to the SOCIALIST pinnings of today´s demonrat party, the better.

Nobama was a relative unknown candidate BY DESIGN, because they cannot tell us the truth about their trojan horse ways of they would be rejected. This shell game has worked before, and they were playing it for all its deceptive worth.

Losing the House was not good news but as the article indicates, the loses were about average for a first term. And considering the media is 90% negative for Trump - it could have been a lot worse. Gaining Senate seats was a huge plus - the Dems have little chance of recapturing the Senate anytime soon.

I´m sorry but I strongly disagree with the headline and I disagree that when the left doubles down on crazy, it will result in their loss in 2020. MOST Americans in metro areas have no idea that the left has been, is and will continue to double down on crazy. And most in metro areas couldn´t care less if the left does so because they´re not the targets and do not get facts, data and truth. They get the propaganda machine for their information and YOU and I are the problems in their minds.

Like it´s worth two flips, here´s what I believe MIGHT change the minds of the Democrats who can still rub two brain cells together (all five of them); Newsom and California´s soon to be enacted free health care, free education, free money for everyone on earth and sanctuary status throughout the state. That will be the only double down that the fidiot voters will see for themselves that democratic socialism means Venezuela. If the results of the California legislature occurs in the next two years and the moron voters see that starving Californians kill and eat zoo animals and they blame Nevada (and of course Trump) for having to do so, they MIGHT break the code.

You and I are NOT going to convince these mobs with logic. Their brains are not capable. They have to convince and realize truth for themselves.

I´ll just call it a midterm purge that will have consequences as President Trump shifts into high gear starting with the Sessions firing, next Mueller and Rosenstein have to go. Trump still dominates the news cycle. He drives the Marxists crazy, as in yesterday´s Press conference. But their mantra of Trump bad, Trump bad, does work and they got, they say, 8 million more votes than US. Heidi Heitkamp, Joe Donnely, Claire McCaskill, Bill Nelson show that Trump rallies work for US.

Fortunately we have so much good already in place that Will yield good fruits until 2020. Family tax cuts, business tax cut at 21%, ObamaCare mandate gone, Death Tax gone, capital repatriation, ANWAR, drilling in public lands, clean coal, LNG export terminals, USMCA, Korea trade deal, steel and aluminum tariffs, China weakened, Japan and EU wanting a trade deal, no DACA until the Supreme Court decide what Obama did to US was legal, Anchor Babies sent up for consideration of the Supreme Court, maximal employment ever, 401ks overflowing, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a great fall. God is smiling on America and we will help him by growing the economy.

Except it isn´t true------we BARELY won in those elections where we won, and THAT IS NOT GOOD. We should, with all that has been accomplished, be winning big time. (Plus there are also plenty of Republicans who lost, including some who espoused Trump ) Spinning is not needed here---what we need is for Trump, bless him, to get his message out but act more Presidential. No more wild exaggerations, etc. I have voted for the man, and will continue to do so, because of the Courts and what he has been doing, but I do NOT like the way he comes forth, nor do I like the way he humiliates people---I thought Sessons should NOT have recused himself, but he did other things that were good, so fire him but don´t humiliate him! THAT is what turning all but fanatic Trumpites off, and that will NOT win elections.

Liberals have been touting their re-capture of the House of Representatives as a victory over a vile, divisive, tyrannical President Trump. I would like to suggest that the faults that they assign to President Trump´s character are identifying characteristics of THEIR OWN POLITICAL PATHWAY TO POWER.

For many, many years I have watched and listened to liberals savage conservatives and republicans mercilessly with the vilest of invective. One of the main reasons that I am able to overlook some of President Trump´s negatives is his quick and brutal response to the leftist attacks on him by the "media". One of his most accurate statements was that he considers the "media" to be part of the democratic party. I DO TOO!

I watched helplessly when the democratic slime machine beat up on both President Bushes, and spread their manure on every conservative in sight. It would appear that they don´t like getting their s___ and mud thrown back at them.

A nine-foot sculpture depicting the Saudi Arabian flag in the shape of a piece of candy is reportedly being removed from its grounds near the 9/11 memorial in New York City after facing backlash. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said they’d relocate the installation, which features the words “There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is the prophet” in Arabic, after many felt its proximity to Ground Zero and the 9/11 Memorial was insulting and insensitive. In the daily headlines, the government shutdown—now the longest in American history—is reported as a clash between two uncompromising forces: President Trump and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In this battle, however, the most important general may be the one who’s escaped almost all notice. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has put on full display his penchant for knowing when the best course is to do nothing. In the received wisdom, because Mr. Trump infamously welcomed a shutdown in December’s televised and contentious Oval Office meeting with Mrs. Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, he gets all the blame for it.

Willie Nelson’s list of musical collaborators is essentially a timeline of popular music. Frank Sinatra? Wynton Marsalis? Ray Charles? Julio Iglesias? Check, check, check, check. Norah Jones, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, even Snoop Dogg? Yep. Basically every country star who ever passed through Nashville and stopped off in Texas? Of course. Yet somehow, during the course of his illustrious and highly collaborative career, there’s one epic name that Willie hadn’t added to his list: King George Strait, his fellow Texan great, whose stature rivals Willie’s when it comes to the names that have defined country music.

The Obama-era policy of integrating women into ground combat units is a misguided social experiment that threatens military readiness and wastes resources in the service of a political agenda. The next defense secretary should end it. In September 2015 the Marine Corps released a study comparing the performance of gender-integrated and male-only infantry units in simulated combat. The all-male teams greatly outperformed the integrated teams, whether on shooting, surmounting obstacles or evacuating casualties. Female Marines were injured at more than six times the rate of men during preliminary training—unsurprising, since men’s higher testosterone levels produce stronger bones and muscles.

We have a couple of updates today. One about a movie. One about a museum. I told you recently that, based on his perusal of the script and glimpse at the trailer, local lawyer Harry Whittington had some concerns about “Vice,” the current unflattering movie about ex-Veep Dick Cheney. Whittington has some personal stake in the movie because he’s in the movie. He’s the local man who was shot by Cheney in a 2006 South Texas quail hunting accident. It’s a scene in the movie, and now that Whittington has seen the scene, he’s even more convinced it’s inaccurate.

Earl Scruggs revolutionized the way we play and appreciate the banjo today. Scruggs, who was born 95 years ago this month, developed his own three-finger method of picking the five-string banjo – an approach so radical it´s now widely referred to as "Scruggs style." That style, which features picks attached to the thumb, index finger and middle finger, has become a defining characteristic of bluegrass music and the most popular style of playing banjo in the genre. A stench has been emanating from the J. Edgar Hoover Building (FBI headquarters) for over two years. It landed Saturday on the front page of the New York Times in an article citing “former law enforcement officials” claiming they had to deal with “explosive implications” that President Donald Trump was “knowingly” or “unwittingly” working for Russia. Thus, the story goes, there was a basis to begin the Russia collusion investigation. In fact, “The Gray Lady” was covering the derrieres of the Obama administration officials involved in the cabal to frame Trump, who now fear an imminent Special Counsel finding that

Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday asked President Donald Trump to reschedule his State of the Union address — or deliver it in writing — as long as the government remains shut down. "Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest that we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened for this address or for you to consider delivering your State of the Union address in writing to the Congress on January 29th," Pelosi wrote in a letter to Trump.

A family dubbed Britain’s "first transgender family" has announced that they are encouraging the gender transition of their five-year-old son, Jayden. According to the family, Jayden, a biological male, likes dresses and hates "everything about being a boy." The little boy´s "step-dad," Greg Rogers, is a 27-year-old biological female who now identifies as a male. The child’s mother is a 21-year-old woman named Jody. Both Jodi and Greg are furious that concerned citizens (referred to as “trolls” by many U.K.-based outlets) have reported them to social services for apparent child abuse. The couple, however, maintain Jayden — who is on

Are you a man? That is to say, are you a genetic male who also happens to identify as a "man," for some increasingly antiquated reason? If so, are you under the mistaken impression that you´re not a rapist? Our society has come a long way in shaming men for behaving in any way that anybody anywhere doesn´t like, and reminding men that we´re all complicit even if we don´t behave that way. But it´s not nearly enough. The mere fact of maleness is shameful and problematic. Men and boys everywhere need

The Fight for $15 isn’t living up to its promise. For years, liberals have claimed that the minimum wage needs to increase to $15 an hour to provide a living wage for full-time workers. The stated goal, as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders writes on his website, is straightforward, “We must ensure that no full-time worker lives in poverty.” In one way, the campaign has been remarkably successful. California and New York are phasing in a statewide $15 an hour minimum wage. Numerous cities, including Seattle, Minneapolis and Washington D.C., have passed $15 an hour minimum wage

For the last 35 years, the snowpack in the West’s mountains has resisted the impacts of global warming. But that could soon change, according to a new study out of Oregon State University. The study, published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, found that although climate change should have caused a steep decrease in snowpack, naturally occurring, decades-long weather variations shielded the Cascades, Sierras and Rockies from some of the effects. Although snow stations have recorded some decline, it hasn’t been statistically significant. But according to the study, without this natural weather variation, snowpack in Oregon could have declined

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) announced on Tuesday that she will form a 2020 presidential exploratory committee, a precursor to officially seeking the Democratic nomination. “I’m filing an exploratory committee for the president of the United States tonight," she said during a taped interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. (Snip) Gillibrand mentioned health care, better public schools, taking on institutional racism, and "corruption and greed in Washington" as motivators and goals for her run, noting that her progressive goals cannot be accomplished without confronting those impediments. "I know that I have the compassion, courage, and the fearless determination
