Jim Acosta violated one of
the oldest rules of journalism

By producing a split decision, the election that was supposed to end all elections turned out to be fairly predictable. But it’s the day after that was unlike any other. The Republican president, the likely speaker of the Democratic-controlled House and the Senate’s Republican majority leader each started Wednesday by talking about working together to get things done. They talked to each other privately and talked separately in public about what they thought they could accomplish for the country. For most Americans, that would make for a very good day. Given the overheated environ

I remember when I was a child and said a bad word, my mom would say and sometimes do, wash my mouth out with soap. Acosta is sure behaving like a little spoiled brat and a good mouth washing out with Lava Soap seems to be in the cards for him? He´d probable mess his pants and cry like the little B*tch he is then?

Michael Goodwin has provided an excellent voice of reason. It is hoped that the professional ethics described by Mr. Goodwin are still respected by most of the journalists of today and will prevail in the White House press room.

Mr. Acosta is the voice of CNN and it is embarrassing, disgusting, and completely unprofessional. It is time to retire this antagonistic and disrespectful egomaniac.

Excellent analysis! Jim Acosta & other reporters have a bad case of narcissism. Acosta, as well as the guy who followed him were attacking the President. That is not journalism - that is looking for a ´drama´.
On top of all this is the fact that the media have become servants of socialism. They are promoters of Marxist totalitarianism, even as they deny they are fascists. Hitler, Stalin, Mao - all controlled the press. Some journalists resisted, but many willing became mouthpieces cranking out the Party line - just like today´s media tout the Dem´s swill.

If someone in the DNC media would tell Acosta to calm down maybe he would ?? It´s about respect , you may not like your boss, teacher, parents, preacher but you do have to give them respect for their position. If you do disagree with them talk in a private place & try to iron it out. If they are the type that won´t listen stay away, if possible. I learned a long time ago no one wins when you argue. I justify losing friends by telling myself I would never have done to them by what they did to me.

Jim "Accost-her" deserves to be banned from the White House for the rest of Trump´s term. I saw it live and if he could have hit her, he probably would have! He looked like a bratty kid with his toy truck he refused to put it down after daddy said stop. Disgusting how he wasn´t alone in insulting the POTUS!

When the reporter is more interested in scoring points and becoming the story, the facts and the truth go south. All CNN is interested in is getting people to watch the video on their web site, it going viral on Facebook, etc. It´s all about embarrassing Trump and pushing his buttons.

Last night wuz simply a nuther fine demonstration by the Bought & Paid for Knee-Pad, “News” Media trying to create a situation. Now they are busy lying about it wall-wall! It was a two-week CNN feeding-frenzy, complete with charges that were dropped, when Cory Lewandowsky touched a female reporter, but when Acosta does it, it somehow never happened! Needless to say, if they will lie and distort about a situation that Americans clearly saw for themselves, then how can Americans and why should Americans believe ANYTHING they tell you? Both CNN and NBC should be banned from the White House briefings until they issue an apology to the intern and the American people for being Dirtbags, hiring Dirtbags and pedaling Dirtbaggery!

I think this was Trump taking CONTROL of the Press Briefings. Acosta has been a Menace since Trump was elected. Sarah Huckabee has handled it as professionally as she could, but it was time to shut Acosta down and send a message that this WILL STOP NOW! Hopefully, they will pull April Ryan´s credentials next. As #9 said, they need to respect Trump´s rank even if they don´t like him personally!

Acosta has violated many more norms than the “rules of journalism” whatever those might be. He routinely behaves outside the protocols promoted for a lifetime by mother’s, fathers, grandparents, teachers, coaches, preachers, bosses, and peers. Acosta disrespects all the norms of civil discourse. Narcissist is too forgiving...he’s a sociopath.

What is becoming normal behavior for these democrat propagandists is a direct reflection of the behavior of many young people. They have no respect for anyone, even themselves. Their language and propensity for violence against anyone who disagrees with them is an indication of their intolerance. Parents have failed to teach their children basic manners and respect for authority. Many of these ids respect nothing and no one. Acosta is merely representative of their mindset. Clearly, the journalism professors bear a great deal of responsibility. They are cranking out these fools by the thousands.

President Trump had much more patience than I would have had. He handled it well, but clearly when Acosta refused to give up the mic and man-handled the female intern, you could see he was very upset. Had she gently kneed Acosta, Americans all over the country watching would have cheered because he certainly deserved it.

Thank you, #12, for reminding us just how unhinged the media became when they camped out on the false allegation that Corey Lewandowksi shoved that female reporter. Their hypocrisy is rich.

Here´s how the White House should handle every press conference. Schedule them at the press secretary and President´s convenience. No favorite seating arrangement, first come first serve. Leave the press locked out of the room standing in the heat, cold or rain. Step out of the door and hand pick the reporters you want and lock the rest out until next time.
If they act like pigs or cattle then treat them like a livestock auction some get picked and some get slaughtered.
The press secretary has been jousting with Jim Acosta the little drama queen hit man for CNN long enough. Ban CNN like Obama banned FOX it´s easy don´t allow them near the White House lawn.

Pulling Acosta´s credentials was a good first step.

But I think they should begin the next few--maybe a dozen--press conferences with a statement:

If you yell a question, you will not be called on.
If you interrupt this office or another reporter, you might be removed for the day.
If you refuse to give up the microphone, you might be removed for the day.
Each reporter is allowed one question and one followup, then you must wait to be called upon again, after others have had a turn.
This is an office in the White House, please remember that and be respectful of this office and your fellow reporters.

Or maybe, have it printed on a handout when they come into the room.
Working adults should not need this reminder!

President Trump told her several times that he hadn´t called on her each time she had a face to make.

as if he (Trump) might bolt the room??
Acosta handed off the mic (to MSNBC) the instant Trump signaled he had had enough and stepped out from behind the lecturn. Apparently Acosta saw his career (and maybe himself with dentures) flash before his eyes.

This BS with the WHPP is not the media´s fault. It is entirely the fault of an overly accommodating White House Press Secretary.

There has got to be some rules- some framework of civility. This is the office of the President of the United States of America. This is not a barroom or a college debating class. This is serious and it is historical.

Trump has bent over backward to accommodate a free press and give them total access to the Presidential office- as much or more than any previous President. This "Mob of Idiots" has got to be put an end to.

Sarah needs to come out tomorrow and say- This is now a whole new world for you folks, but here are the rules. Disregard them at your peril. The distribute a paper describing the expected behavior of the White House Press pool. You must ask intelligent, meaningful questions. such questions will be answered to the fullest extent possible. If you attack or begin to espouse a political platform - you will be asked politely to leave the press conference. On the second violation, you will have your media pass revoked and you will not be welcome back. The media organization you represent can reapply for a new White House pass but only with a new correspondent. If that correspondent is approved, the media org can be represented and given full credentials- but this time on a probationary basis.

Civility and decorum have got to be preserved!

There is a video on Michellemalkin.com that clearly shows Acosta "karate-chopped" the intern´s arm near the elbow/bicep when she tried to take the mic. I think that is what upset the Pres. the most. Remember when Cory Lewandowski put out his arm to hold back a reporter and the press went batcrap crazy? More of the double standard.

Keep this creep out of the WH.

While watching the press conference via TV, my wife mentioned that with the press this badly behaved, they should have a switch for each mic´s input at the ´base station´, and cut off whichever mic is in the hands of the misbehaving -I won´t say reporter- media person.

Saguni (#37) said it well, I would change it slightly as follows:

Pulling Acosta´s credentials was a good first step, and is long overdue.

I think they should put a new policy in place:

If you yell a question, you WILL be removed for the day.
If you interrupt this office or another reporter, you WILL be removed for the day.
If you refuse to give up the microphone, you WILL be removed for the day.
Each reporter is allowed one question and one followup, then you must wait to be called upon again, after others have had a turn.

Since CNN´s ratings are lower than the cartoon network why should they be considered a viable news source and so why should they have any press credentials? It seems to me that you should have to meet certain standards to be considered for the important job of representing the American people in getting information that is important to them. Acosta never asks questions he is a pundit. He presents his opinions at every press conference and challenges the President at every turn, not with any question of substance but only with his biased opinions. He is not a journalist therefore cannot be qualified for press credentials of any sort.

On Tuesday, the Knights of Columbus (KOC) and Marist Poll released a survey showing that almost two-thirds of Americans would like the Supreme Court to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, even if they would not advocate directly against the decision. "Almost two-thirds, 65 percent, would like the Supreme Court to reinterpret Roe in a way that would functionally overturn it," Andrew Walther, KOC´s communications and government affairs executive, told reporters on a call. Rather than asking Americans whether they support or oppose Roe v. Wade, Marist and KOC asked about the ideal outcome

Citing unnamed “former law enforcement sources and others,” the New York Times reports that “in the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests.” The mainstream media has touted this story as major breaking news. But, to anyone who has been paying even a modicum of attention, it is crystal clear that Comey’s firing did not precipitate the FBI’s investigation of Trump. To the contrary, the readily available record facts demonstrate

When Nancy Pelosi was sworn in as speaker of the House earlier this month, she promised the American people renewed congressional vigor. Congress, she solemnly declared, is “coequal to the presidency and judiciary,” and House Democrats would act accordingly. Democratic partisans masquerading as public intellectuals have similarly rediscovered the virtues of legislative power, touting the importance of Congress as a coequal branch of government. The problem with this? Congress is not coequal. It is superior. The notion of coequality of the branches is a myth that has been popularized over the past half century, during the rise

Notwithstanding a federal government shutdown, President Donald Trump rolled out the red carpet for Clemson´s National Championship football team at the White House tonight. Clemson won their national title exactly a week ago. And freedom was on the menu, with Trump personally paying for a catered meal of American fast food, including Wendy´s, McDonald´s, Burger King, and Domino´s Pizza — all laid out in the State Dining Room.

Joseph Lieberman, the former Connecticut senator and Democratic vice presidential candidate, is working for a company he once called a national security threat. In November, Lieberman registered as a lobbyist for ZTE, a Chinese telecom giant with close links to the country’s government. The ex-Senator told Politico that, despite his registration, he wouldn’t actually be lobbying for the firm. Rather, he hoped to “raise the level of trust in ZTE.” Lieberman certainly should understand the trust deficit the company faces. In 2010, he signed a letter saying ZTE and another Chinese telecom company, Huawei, could threaten American national security.

John Yoo, who has been known to be in favor of strong presidential power, said the Supreme Court in 1974 set the standard that allows-- in part-- the president to discuss foreign policy secrets with foreign nations. A 96-year-old World War II veteran from California will be spending plenty of time with family going through a mountain of birthday cards, after a request from his daughter on Facebook went viral. Sue Morse had put out a request for friends to send birthday wishes to her father and Purple Heart medal recipient Duane Sherman, expecting she would get maybe 160 cards. Instead, he received over 50,000. “I was amazed, shocked and appreciative,” Sherman told the Orange County Register. “All the good comments people made, it just brightened my day.”

MADISON, Wis.—Dozens of conservative organizations are receiving late Christmas presents years after the IRS handed them a lump of coal. The federal government in recent days has been issuing settlement checks to 100 right-of-center groups wrongfully targeted for their political beliefs under the Obama administration’s Internal Revenue Service, according to an attorney for the firm that represented plaintiffs in NorCal v. United States. Three of the claimants in the $3.5 million national class-action suit are based in the Badger State. “This is really a groundbreaking case. French riot police have deployed semi-automatic weapons with live ammunition against Yellow Vest protestors for the first time. Officers were filmed brandishing Heckler & Koch G36 weapons by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Saturday afternoon. The presence of semi-automatic rifles at a demonstration by unarmed French citizens shows how President Emmanuel Macron’s law and order crisis spirals. It comes after former conservative minister Luc Ferry called for live fire to be used against the ‘thugs’ from the Yellow Vest movement who he says ´beat up police´. There are some opponents worthy of grudging respect. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a terrible legal thinker, a leftist with no real respect for liberty and a confessed critic of the Constitution over its limitations upon the government’s ability to impose her fans’ pinko vision of soft, huggy tyranny upon Normal Americans. But I respect her as an opponent – to do otherwise would be to lie to ourselves that our opponents are hopeless and helpless. She’s a tough old bird, surviving cancer and other perils and yet she always comes back to torment us with her appalling jurisprudence.

Has President Trump suckered Democrats and the Deep State into a trap that will enable a radical downsizing of the federal bureaucracy? In only 5 more days of the already-“longest government shutdown in history” (25 days and counting, as of today), a heretofore obscure threshold will be reached, enabling permanent layoffs of bureaucrats furloughed 30 days or more. Don’t believe me that federal bureaucrats can be laid off? Well, in bureaucratese, a layoff is called a RIF – a Reduction in Force (snip) if the guidelines are followed, bureaucrats can be laid off -- as in no more job

Gillette´s new ad, browbeating men through a #MeToo and "toxic masculinity" pitch, supposedly to persuade men to buy their razors, is so revolting it´s possible to think it´s satire. There is also a 30-second version, which doesn´t even seem to be about selling razors: Seriously, did a spy from Schick get into the Procter & Gamble´s advertising agency and concoct an ad very sure to turn potential customers off? Who would want to buy that after such a string of insults? Isn´t ad rule number one to not insult the customer? Well, this one does.

A stench has been emanating from the J. Edgar Hoover Building (FBI headquarters) for over two years. Thus, the story goes, there was a basis to begin the Russia collusion investigation. Are you a man? That is to say, are you a genetic male who also happens to identify as a "man," for some increasingly antiquated reason? If so, are you under the mistaken impression that you´re not a rapist? Our society has come a long way in shaming men for behaving in any way that anybody anywhere doesn´t like, and reminding men that we´re all complicit even if we don´t behave that way. But it´s not nearly enough. The mere fact of maleness is shameful and problematic. Men and boys everywhere need

The Fight for $15 isn’t living up to its promise. For years, liberals have claimed that the minimum wage needs to increase to $15 an hour to provide a living wage for full-time workers. The stated goal, as socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders writes on his website, is straightforward, “We must ensure that no full-time worker lives in poverty.” In one way, the campaign has been remarkably successful. California and New York are phasing in a statewide $15 an hour minimum wage. Numerous cities, including Seattle, Minneapolis and Washington D.C., have passed $15 an hour minimum wage

For the last 35 years, the snowpack in the West’s mountains has resisted the impacts of global warming. But that could soon change, according to a new study out of Oregon State University. The study, published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, found that although climate change should have caused a steep decrease in snowpack, naturally occurring, decades-long weather variations shielded the Cascades, Sierras and Rockies from some of the effects. Although snow stations have recorded some decline, it hasn’t been statistically significant. But according to the study, without this natural weather variation, snowpack in Oregon could have declined
