Beto O’Rourke’s National
Celebrity Was His Undoing

Atlantic, by Elaina Plott

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 11/7/2018 4:52:18 AM

In the past year, the Texas Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke has been compared endlessly to the great charismatic stars of the Democratic Party. He was Kennedyesque! He was the next Obama! With his boyish grin, rhythmic speech, and unabashedly left-leaning platform, the Democratic former representative was not just the state’s best hope for going blue: According to political strategists across the country, he is among the party’s most promising presidential contenders in 2020. But O’Rourke, who challenged Ted Cruz for his Senate seat, might empathize better with someone like Republican Senator Marco Rubio.

Comments:
It´s pretty funny to watch the media who loved every Kennedyesque hair on Robert Francis´s Irish head now pretending they knew all along he could not win.

Don´t you think "Robbie" O´Rourke sings better the "Beto"? Goes better with his country club background as opposed to his non-existent Hispanic background.

If Abrams doesn’t contest her loss, this will be a big loss for Hollywood endorsements. And not a moment too soon.

It wasn´t national celebrity that was the undoing of Beto O´Roark. Like most people, Ms Plott doesn´t understand that Texans honor hard work and are not the parasites that elect Democrat Socialist scum!

His undoing was that he is a fake. He does not fit the Texas style of a hard-working get it done citizen. Plus, most of us knew about the outside money he was getting. We already have enough outsiders here as it is.

Sounds to me that Robbie would be a good candidate for coastal Kalifonia.
Maybe in two years he can get elected to Botox Nancy´s seat, and she can retire. (But ONLY if they can pry the Gavel from her cold, wrinkled hands!)

Everybody sing
Down in the west Texas town of El Paso,
There lived a rich boy named Robert O´Rourke.
He changed is first name from Robert to Beto,
But that chicano name just didn´t work.

He liked to skateboard for the Hollywood mo-

Texas might be rid of Beto the fake Mexican, that´s good for Texas, but O´Rourke will go national.
Change his name back to Robert O´Rourke, keep the Kennedyesque haircut when he steps on the stage at the Democrat convention he´s the next east coast Obama. O´Rourke is the face of the left and a money magnet. If Hillary Clinton has future hopes to run again and Liz Warren or Joe Biden O´Rourke is their worse nightmare.

Bobbie O´Roarke will now turn his attention nationwide. He will soon discover that being the anointed one carries a risk from those who think it´s their turn. By not sharing from his bounty of donations, he broke the first rule when seeking national office, which is you have to build alliances (usually with cash).

Utah Republican Mia Love sues

Republican Rep. Mia Love sued to halt vote counting in the Utah race where she is trailing her Democratic challenger by a razor-thin margin, saying her campaign must be allowed to issue challenges if they dispute the validity of mail-in ballots. In a contest where "every single vote is crucial," the Love campaign claimed poll-watchers have seen a few cases where voter signatures on ballots accepted by election workers did not appear to match those on file in Democratic-leaning Salt Lake County.

She has never won a competitive race in her life, and odds are that she never will. Hillary Clinton has two talents as a candidate. WHAT: A seventeen-mile journey for a snake that accidentally ended up in a Goodwill donations facility. WHO: Austin Pair, a 22-year-old Keller resident, and Toki, his three-foot red-tailed boa constrictor. WHY IT’S SO GREAT: On November 1, a Goodwill employee sorting donations at the organization’s center in Fort Worth got an unusual surprise: a large snake that she identified as a python. (It was actually an albino red-tailed boa constrictor, but we don’t expect everyone to be herpetologists.) Amid the violations of law by Broward and Palm Beach County elections officials, the data provides apparent good news for Republicans. First, despite the national media´s typical laziness and derelictions, the local press has largely been assiduous and conscientious -- certain framing aside. Second, core concerns raised by leading Republicans (some of which were rhetorically overblown) have been validated by multiple judges. The ineptitude and misconduct has not gone unnoticed. Third, in spite of Democratic lawyers´ best efforts, Republican leads in key races are likely insurmountable. National Review´s Charles C.W. Cooke

The Republican Party lost its House majority on July 28, 2017, when Sen. John McCain ended the party’s seven-year quest to repeal ObamaCare. House leadership had done an admirable job herding cats. On the second try, we passed the American Health Care Act in May. Then McCain’s inscrutable vote against the Senate’s “skinny repeal” killed the reform effort. McCain’s last-minute decision prompted a “green wave” of liberal special-interest money, which was used to propagate false claims that the House plan “gutted coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.” That line was the Democrats’ most potent attack

Tuesday’s midterms served up mixed results, handing both parties big wins and big losses. It will take some time to sort out what it means. Yet the evening did nonetheless provide one total, complete, unalloyed loser: Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. For a decade Ms. Warren, 69, has been busy trying to remake Washington in her progressive image. Her role in creating a new financial regulatory apparatus gave her outsize influence over the bureaucracy. Her successful 2012 Senate bid gave her a megaphone to rail against “billionaires, bigots and Wall Street bankers”—and Donald Trump.

Amid the inevitable outrage fest touched off by the election results, hardcore partisans on the left solidified around one particular angry narrative: If and when Democrats lose, it is because white women remain insufficiently woke. The Usual Suspects crafted this argument around exit polls of the Senate race in Texas, which revealed that white women broke for Republican incumbent Ted Cruz by a significant margin — 60 percent cast ballots for him rather than for Robert Francis O’Rourke (“Beto” to you), who received just 39 percent of their support.
