Stacey Abrams not conceding
Georgia governor’s race

New York Post, by Nikki Schwab

Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams — running to be the country’s first female black governor — said early Wednesday that she wasn’t going to concede the tight race to Republican Brian Kemp. “I’m here to tell you tonight that votes remain to be counted,” Abrams told a group of supporters in Atlanta around 1:45 a.m. Abrams was trailing Kemp by three percentage points — 48 percent to 51 percent — with 96 percent of precincts reporting. Abrams’ side said they believed there might be enough outstanding votes — including absentees —

I voted for Kemp and straight R all down the ticket, but let´s be fair.

Georgia law require a gubernatorial race to be decided only when a candidate gets more than 50% of the vote.

Abrams knows she will not WIN this election, but it hoping that Kemp´s lead is cut to less than 50% so that there will be a runoff.

The general feeling around Georgia was that a runoff was a distinct possibility, so Abrams´ lack of concession has to do with the runoff issue, not that she has any chance of winning outright.

Frantically searching car trunks for incounted, 100% straight democrat voting ballots.

But thenhen finally she could resist his determined alpha maleness no more, Stacy tore her bodice open exposing what no man had seen before and murmured huskily, “It’s yours, you brute. It was always yours and you knew it.” Upon hearing her own voice say it Stacy knew her days as a girl were over and her life as a fulfilled woman had begun.

I think #35, the first question should be "Who is going to jail for having a box of ballots in their trunk?".

Even in the old days, they votes were counted and certified at the precinct level. If your voter count and your totals vary by too much, you either illegally certified a known false result, or you keep working until you reconcile the difference.

In Ohio, you sign in (ID check, confirmed voter, signature, etc.) and receive a slip allowing you to vote. They take your slip, and put it in the machine that you vote on. You vote, and your vote is stored in the machine. If the slips don´t match the total number of ballots on the machine, that must be reconciled. This allows for undervotes, and the total number must coincide with signature count. That way, and "found" ballots were already counted at the precinct level, and should not get counted again.

Granted, many places (PHILLY) like the system to be more arcane and complicated, so that fraud is easier. That should never happen, and laws should be passed to make it so.

Exactly right, #12.

It´s still disturbing how close this election was to begin with. Hopefully Atlanta will not be the canary in the coal mine for Georgia as a whole. Of course, I´m betting that a lot of people in over-taxed states are moving to Georgia and they may bring their liberal viewpoints with them, unfortunately.

I shall always and forever more refer to Abrams by her nom de plume, "Selena Montgomery".

Don´t worry folks, Selena hasn´t won this round but is instead aiming for a recount.

These dem candidates are a joke yet they´re capturing seriously close to over 50% OF THE VOTE? What does that say about our electorate?

Two southern Republican gubernatorial candidates are ready to move into their governor mansions after appearing to have pulled off victories in their races but their never-say-die Democratic opponents are refusing to give up – though the writing is on the wall. In Florida, the contest for governor between Republican Ron DeSantis and Democrat Andrew Gillum appeared all but over Thursday, with a machine recount showing DeSantis with a large enough advantage over Gillum to avoid a hand recount in that race. The latest numbers posted online by the state of Florida show DeSantis with more than 33,683 votes than Gillum.

Obama-appointed federal judges have brazenly rewritten election statutes to favor Democrats challenging the outcomes of races in Florida and Georgia. In both states, however, the apparent losers haven’t benefited from arbitrary changes these partisan jurists made in the laws by which election officials are legally bound. Thursday, for example, an Obama appointee changed the rules governing how mail-in ballots with signature mismatches must be handled in Florida — just hours before the legally-mandated recount deadline. In Georgia, two Obama appointees changed the rules regarding how to count incomplete absentee ballots, provisional ballots,

British politics and markets are in chaos because Prime Minister Theresa May can’t sell her long-awaited Brexit plan — and no one knows what comes next. After British voters narrowly approved a withdrawal from the European Union in 2016, we felt the United Kingdom would be better off — able to make its own decisions on trade and immigration and free from lunatic EU regulations. But little of that is in the deal May unveiled Wednesday night. It leaves the UK within the EU’s economic orbit, subject to many of the bloc’s existing regulations and tariffs,

A federal judge handed CNN a major victory on Friday, ruling that President Donald Trump White House must temporarily restore the press credentials it stripped from the network´s chief White House correspondent last week while a lawsuit plays out. Judge Timothy Kelly ruled that Jim Acosta´s First Amendment press rights trump the administration´s right to have orderly press conferences. He declared that the White House failed to give Acosta ´due process,´ something guaranteed in government proceedings under the Fifth Amendment. ´I want to thank all of my colleagues in the press who supported us this week,´ Acosta told other reporters outside the federal

George Conway, a conservative attorney whose wife is Donald Trump´s senior White House counselor, said in an interview released Friday that he decided not to pursue a plum job in the Trump administration´s Department of Justice when it became clear the president would constantly be crossing swords with the agency. ´I´m watching this thing and you know it’s like, the administration is like a sh*tshow in a dumpster fire,´ he said. ´If I got this door prize, I’m going to be in the middle of a department he’s at war with. CHICAGO — To read the worshipful press coverage you’d never know that, for Democrats, the unthinkable has happened: Michelle Obama has revealed herself as just another guru for sale. On Tuesday night, the former first lady kicked off her 10-city North American book tour, which more closely resembled a cult-of-personality-propaganda-rally, at the United Center in Chicago. (Dates have been added in London, where scalped tickets are going for over $90,000 each, and Paris.) A sliver of the 20,000 seats available for the Chicago event were priced at $29.50, and those sold out within five minutes of going on sale in September.
