I live in the most conservative county in Texas. My neighbors are professionals working in Energy and Healthcare, in this suburb of Houston.

A favorite voting place is our Fort Bend County Library. After the first day of early voting, they had to order more voting machines. Conservatives here are stoked and energized to vote early and vote Republican.

Bye bye Beto.

I´m very stingy with campaign contributions because beyond paying for signs, ballpoint pens and buses I don´t believe they make much difference. If you have a turkey running, no amount of money thrown at him is going to make him better. If you have a good candidate running, he will get the votes.

We learned that lesson the hard way with Mittens and McCain. The democrats will never learn it.

There are two distinct narrative angles that are intersecting in the current weekend talk venues. One is the government shutdown and how the resistance is attempting to gain maximum political benefit against the White House. The second is how the larger ‘shutdown narrative‘ is being deployed as cover for revelations within prior testimony showing how the Obama DOJ and FBI weaponized against their political opposition. (Snip) The two narratives are intertwined and it would be against the interests of Pelosi, Cummings, Schiff and Nadler, to reach a shutdown agreement.

Critics are pushing back against the portrayal of students from Covington Catholic High School as racist, after a confrontation between the school and a Native American counter-demonstrator at the March for Life on Friday. The headline from the Associated Press at the Hollywood Reporter — repeated in some form by outlets across the country — read: “Students in ‘Make America Great Again’ Hats Mock Native Americans After Washington Rally.” (Snip) Video posted by a group of left-wing activists present showed that the students had been taunted with racial slurs as the incident took place.

Bismarck said that politics is the art of the possible. It looks like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and other Democrats regard politics as the art of intransigence. In his brief remarks Saturday on border security, Donald Trump outlined a plan that made multiple concessions to Democratic desiderata in exchange for $5.7 billion to fund 230 miles of the wall along the southern U.S. border. Indeed, the president’s plan deliberately took cues from some Durbin’s own legislation on the subject. Didn’t matter. Pelosi said the president’s plan was “a non-starter.”

She said NO and left town… In a nationally televised statement from the White House, President Trump offered concessions on DACA, expressed a desire to work with Democrats toward a much-needed overhaul of the outdated immigration system and a desire to
