Cory Booker unveils bill to create
taxpayer-funded savings account
for every American born in U.S.

Washington Times, by Gabriella Muñoz

Original Article

Sen. Cory Booker announced a new bill Monday that would establish a taxpayer-funded savings account for every American at birth. “Today, nearly one in three American families have zero to negative wealth, and it’s hard to get ahead if you begin life behind the starting line,” said Mr. Booker, New Jersey Democrat. The “American Opportunity Account Act” would essentially create a trust fund for every U.S. citizen born in the U.S. After age 18, the money can be accessed but only used for certain “human and financial capital investments” like buying a house or paying for higher education.

FTA: The senator plans on paying for these savings account by increasing taxes, specifically estate and inheritance taxes.

So, If you work hard and are disciplined enough to save up for an estate for your own kids...you will be taxed to give an inheritance to those kids whose parents never saved a dime.

Yeah, right....on second thought, NO!

Poster #2, I believed that in his speech tonight here in Texas, President Trump said this tax reform measures last year did away with both the estate and inheritance taxes. So, this is just smoke and mirrors to try to squeeze any savings or earnings that these new and future tax reform bills give US. the working class.

BTW, has anyone tried to find out any dates that Booker may have been in or out of the White House with 0bama back then? Just asking.

In a lot of instances you can bet that the money would end up being stolen by parents and guardians. How many young people eighteen years of age are going to buy a house?

The chances of such a bill passing the Congress and being signed into law are about zero.

We´ll need forms designers, procedure writers, trainers to teach all employees about their affirmative action rights and duties, an office of affirmative action watchdogs, a whole "appeals board" will need to be staffed to deal with complaints, translators to ensure all forms, booklets etc are available in the language of your choice...

When they have no positive policies to run on to benefit the majority of Americans, America´s communists revert to giving away other people´s money as a bribe for votes. If Booker, Sanders, Clinton, Cortez, O´Rourke, Feinstein, Biden, Harris can just win, they will have all the funds that they think they will need to create their unattainable heaven-on-earth for the exploited and oppressed: those funds will be YOUR FUNDS.

Naaaah, scratch that. For every American born, cancel equal number of government entitlements by applying the lottery systems.

When you run a dim city you learn that the money comes from somewhere else. In Newark, it comes from suburbia where property taxes are 2/4 times that of Newark. That is why it cost $25,000 per public school student there and Spartacus couldn´t keep the snow plowed.

For those truly starting out with nothing, there is enormous public assistance. Free medical care, free food, housing assistance, free education, college assistance, and much more.

People come to this great Country with little and WORK their way to varying degrees of success. It´s idiots like Booker that then want to take their hard earned money and pass it off to those who sit around waiting for a handout.

It´s OPPORTUNITY that matters, not payouts. That´s what Trump is delivering and what many are starting to realize is the best thing to have. Opportunity allows every individual to rise to the heights they are willing to seek. Government established welfare poverty NEVER elevates anyone. It just locks them into the bottom with horrible attitudes and expectations. Booker wants to lock people into the government plantation.

My wife was reading this with rising anger.
When it got to the part about "starting out with nothing", she noted that she and I started out with literally nothing after college.

I had a 12 year old rusty VW, a few clothes, a few tools from Sears, a $35 late 1800s military surplus rifle and a cat. She had no a 10 year old rusty VW (knew how to fix them), a few clothes, one camera. We had literally NO furniture, no cookwear. We did have a bit of backpacking gear, cheap Kmart tent, backpacks, home-sewn sleeping bags, a $12 tiny backpacking stove. In my first apartment, I had to sleep in the sleeping bag until I bought an old sleeper sofa for $25 to sleep on at night and sit on during the day. Had a cardboard box for a table for months until we could afford to start buying a few pieces of used furniture, pots and pans. Oh, yeah, we had our wedding gift china, but it was at her mother´s house for safe keeping. We moved everything in our two VWs when I got my first job, far away.

Today, we are retired very comfortably, vacation home fully paid for, home paid for, and can afford many luxuries which we never imagined in our 50 years together until recently.

Booker is a lazy, stupid fool. Education and hard work, getting and staying married is what actually succeeds in this country. Give people this money and it will be piddled away on drugs and tattoos in a month or two.

Horrible man.

#30, I hear you. Wife and I bought a skillet for 25 cents at the flea market. 3 years cooked everything using the skillet cuz we had no stove. Sacrificed, saved and invested til retirement at 62. Today, wife and I live the life others would envy. ...and I thank God for the blessed journey that brought us here.
Btw, free money and entitlements corrupts the mind and destroys the WILL. It´s an Institutional Slavery, at government´s mercy.

Booker is like a lot of childless adults. He has no understanding of what an 18 year old would do w $50k.

But I guess the real estate lobby will support this. Lots of house buying going on to get to that money. Then selling to convert to cash for drugs, Air Jordans, Cars, beer, partying, etc.

Patrons at a small bar in Pocatello, Idaho, were a bit confused as to why a stranger showed up intent on watching the Harvard-Yale football game one day in 1982. He tried to explain, but no one really paid much attention until he offered to buy all the beer. Had they been listening, they might not have believed him. He was only there because he received a cryptic phone call that consisted of just three words: "Watch the game." Still, the message was received. There was only one reason he could have received such a strange call: After four years,

Mirebalais, Haiti — Cervical cancer is a disease that Haiti cannot afford. And in most cases, it’s a disease the country’s broken healthcare system cannot treat. There is just one MRI scanner in the entire country of 11 million people. Radiation treatment does not exist — for any kind of cancer — because there are no machines. Cancer screenings and early detection programs are limited, and so is access to lifesaving care. In a country already struggling to manage maternal deaths and childhood diseases that have been largely controlled in other parts of the world, cervical cancer is nearly always a death

California Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell is calling for government confiscation of all semi-automatic rifles. In other words, every rifle in America.(tweets)Further, he´s warning citizens of nuclear annihilation should people refuse to comply.(tweets)When he was confronted, Swalwell tried to backtrack with some context and further explanation.(tweets)He then pulled the victim card.(tweet)"Gun buyback" is a nice term for confiscation, which Swalwell acknowledged. "Assault rifle" is a politically loaded, misleading term used by the left to demonize semi-automatic rifles. And yes, confiscating millions of privately owned firearms is indeed tyrannical. Democrat Stacey Abrams ended her bid to be Georgia governor late Friday in a speech which she said was not a ´concession´ but an acknowledgment that she cannot win. She said Brian Kemp, the Republican candidate, would win the vote count which was due to be certified at 5 p.m., just as she made the speech. But she ended her bid to be the nation´s first black female governor defiantly saying that she would be suing in federal court over the election´s ´gross mismanagement´, taking a bitter election with claims of racist voter suppression into a new arena.
