Any one with an ounce of brain matter knows that when you campaign against an opponent you go for the jugular.

Once you win, the victor who seeks support from a broad swath of support is going to have to embrace the opponent.

Trust but verify...Reagan/Gorbechav (sp?)& Trump vs. Putin (let us see how that works out).

President Trump knows how to turn things around like this. He is a bit of a "showman", in the P. T. Barnum way. I do not care. He has kept his promises and is doing an amazing job.

Another critical election. Another electoral failure in Florida. Another vote counting disaster in Broward County. Some Americans suspect fraud, indeed Broward County looks like a banana republic. The latest ballot debacle may be a result of carelessness or incompetence, rather than fraud. But election officials unable to do their job just invite abuse. A botched vote undermines confidence in American democracy. There is no more vital act for a citizen than to elect his or her local, state and national leaders. Voters expect only those who are legally eligible to cast ballots. Which in turn will be counted accurately and

One thing Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis have going for them -- besides the obvious lead in vote totals so far -- is history. Republican presidential candidates Rutherford B. Hayes and George W. Bush both eventually ended up carrying the state of Florida in 1876 and 2000, two other prolonged elections. Even before Brenda Snipes ran elections in Broward County, Florida had real issues with counting votes. My book, Tainted by Suspicion: The Secret Deals and Electoral Chaos of Disputed Presidential Elections, opens by asking, “What is it with Florida anyway?” I never expected to be asking this question after

I voted by absentee ballot during the 2000 Presidential election. I had to. I was stationed at Fort Hood, Tex., and I sent my ballot via UPS to the office of the Broward County Supervisor of Elections, who was then Miriam Oliphant). The reason I used UPS was that I had been away from home for three weeks of temporary duty in Washington before the election. I barely made it back in time in time to vote and send in my ballot. Knowing it would be close, I sent my ballot via UPS. I tracked the package the entire way.

Democrats could make the biggest changes to gun legislation the United States has seen in 25 years when the new term begins January but Republicans are unlikely to make it easy for them. A fresh wave of politicians will enter the House next year, after the Democratic party took it back in Tuesday´s elections. But the GOP still control the Senate which passes federal laws. However with the Thousand Oaks, California mass shooting where 12 people died just the day after the midterms, politicians have suggested they´ll be aggressively pursuing action to enforce tougher gun control.
